Abstract

Measles is a disease caused by Morbillivirus measles virus which is an RNA virus from the Paramyxovirus group. This disease attacks the respiratory and immune systems of a person and is contagious. Measles is easy to recognize because it has characteristic clinical symptoms and has become a universal disease. This makes measles a concern of various countries because the disease can cause death if not treated and prevented from spreading. The purpose of this study is to analyze the factors that can influence the incidence of measles in Indonesia by using a literature study in the last 6 years (2016-2022). The method used is a literature review which includes the literature search process, exclusion inclusion criteria and study selection and literature quality assessment. The total literature used is 14 samples of research articles. The results showed that there were various factors that influenced the incidence of measles, but the dominant factors influencing the level of knowledge of parents regarding measles immunization and measles immunization status. It is hoped that the public will gain insight regarding measles immunization and understand how to prevent measles and maintain a clean environment so that it does not become a breeding ground for disease

Abstract

Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways that involves many cells and factors. Physiologically, asthma is characterized by narrowing of the airways that causes increased hypersensitivity which is characterized by repeated episodic symptoms of wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and coughing, especially at night and or in the morning. The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the number of asthmatic diseases in 2019 is around 235 million. Asthma is a worldwide health problem, affecting approximately 1-18% of the population in various countries around the world. Aminophylline is the most common asthma drug used to treat asthma in Indonesia and is a drug with a narrow therapeutic range with a high risk of adverse drug reaction (ADR). Improper use of aminophylline will cause many side effects that can potentially be fatal and can actually make a person experience medical problems due to side effects that are more severe than the main medical problem. The purpose of this review article is to analyze the effectiveness and risk of aminophylline in the treatment of asthma using a literature study method taken from various international and national journals. Based on the results of the literature study, it was found that aminophylline in its use produces a toxic effect that is greater than its effectiveness.

Abstract

Depression is a mental health disorder that often occurs to anyone regardless of age. Treatment of depression can be done with psychotherapy, administration of antidepressants, or a combination of both. However, the use of antidepressants is believed to increase the risk of suicidal behavior and ideation, especially in adolescent patients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of antidepressant therapy on the risk of suicide in adolescents. This research was conducted using the Literature Review method using the Google Scholar database. Articles obtained from the search process were then re-selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria, so that 5 articles that match the criteria were obtained. The results of the study show that giving antidepressant drugs to patients can increase or decrease the risk of suicide in patients. Patients aged <18 years (children and adolescents) are considered to have a greater risk of suicide compared to adult and geriatric patients. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the use of antidepressant drugs must be done wisely. Patients need to receive supervision and support from the closest people in using antidepressant drugs to avoid the risk of suicide in patients.

Antibiotics are drugs used to treat bacterial acaic infections. Unreasonable use of antibiotics will cause resistance to a bacterium. I did a review of this journal aimed at analyzing the level of knowledge of antibiotic use in the community to prevent the occurrence or increase of cases of resistance to a bacterium. For the results obtained from the results of journal reviews, the level of knowledge of the average antibiotic use is still relatively up and down.

Abstract

Folic acid plays an important role for the health of mothers and babies, especially in the growth and development of the fetus. Based on several previous studies, it was found that prenatal folic acid deficiency or excess can increase the risk of Autism Spectrum Disease (ASD) in infants. This raises concerns about the adverse effects of prenatal folic acid supplements including an increased risk of ASD. Therefore, this literature review article was created to further explore the implications or involvement of maternal folic acid supplementation on the risk of ASD in their offspring. The Google Scholar, Pubmed, and Connected Papers electronic databases were used to find literature that met the criteria. The results of this review found a potential beneficial effect of prenatal folic acid supplementation on the risk of developing ASD, although conflicting results have been reported. In summary, this literature review article demonstrates that prenatal folic acid supplementation can significantly reduce the risk of ASD in offspring compared to women without prenatal folic acid supplementation.
