Abstract

Kampung Pedurenan sebagai kampong metropolis dengan wilayah geografis dekat perbatasan dengan Ibukota Jakarta. Kampung Pedurenan dituntut untuk serius menata sumber daya manusia (SDM) yang berkualitas dengan pendidikan sebagai prioritas utama. Pengembangan pendidikan pembelajaran vital terhadap peningkatan SDM adalah pembelajaran Matematika. Pentingnya matematika sebagai alat bantu sebagai pembimbing pola maupun sebagai pembentuk sikap. Oleh karena itu, pendidikan matematika mempunyai peran yang strategis dalam menyiapkan sumber daya manusia untuk menghadapi era industrialisasi dan globalisasi. Permasalahan yang dihadapi di Kampung Pedurenan berupa orang tua mempunyai keterabtasan kemampuan dalam membimbing belajar matematika anak, anak mengalami kesulitan dalam memeahami pelajaran matematika, orang tua tidak percaya diri membimbing belajar matematika anak, belum banyak yang paham bahwa pendidikan yang baik berawal dari rumah, dan kesadaran yang kurang bagi masyarakat akan pentingnya memperoleh pendidikan yang berkualitas. Dari permasalahan prioritas mitra maka metode pelaksanaan yang diberikan berupa melatih orang tua dalam merencanakan  dan melaksanakan pendampingan belajar matematika anak, membantu keterbatasan siswa secara tidak langsung  melalui orang tua  masing-masing dalam mempelajari  matematika, dengan metode memperkaya wawasa orang tua  tentang pembelajaran matematika yang menarik untuk anak,  membangun  keakraban dan kesadaran orang tua  akan pentingnya pendidikan anak terutama matematika, memotivasi orang tua siswa untuk memberikan  kesempatan  dan memberikan kesempatan  dan dukungan  bagi putra-putri untuk melanjutkan studi ke jenjang lebih tinggi. Hasil PKM Pendampingan didapatkan orang tua memperoleh keterampilan dan pengetahuan tentang matematika dan bagaimana mengajarkan matematika, orang tua mendapat kesempatan untuk bertukar pengalaman, wawasan dan informasi dengan dosen dalam rangka  meningkatkan mutu pendidikan anak dan bagaimana meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis anak, tumbuh kesadaran bermatematika di kalangan orang tua sehingga orang tua tidak perlu terlalu banyak bergantung kepada guru bimbel untuk membantu belajar matematika.

Abstract

This study attempts to analyze pre-service secondary mathematics teachers’ flexibility of external representations of domain and range of functions. To reach the purpose, a task consisted of thirty question items were designed. Participants of the study were thirty-eight Indonesian pre-service secondary mathematics teachers attending mathematics education department at one private university in Jakarta, Indonesia. Based on the analysis participants written responses, this paper revealed participants’ difficulties in providing a proper and consistent definition of the concept of domain and range of functions. We also disclosed the participants’ lack of flexibility in doing translation among representations under the concept of domain and range of function. In general, participants written responses to the task did not provide evidence of a solid understanding of domain and range. There are several implications of these findings offered for secondary mathematics teacher education’s program.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penyebab terjadinya kesulitan belajar yang dihadapi peserta didik SMP di masa pembelajaran pasca pandemik. Penelitian dilakukan di SMP daerah Jakarta Barat dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini mengambil subjek 2 (dua) peserta didik yang sudah ditentukan oleh guru matematika. Data penelitian didapat dengan menggunakan tes uraian, wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Dari hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa subjek S1 tingkat kesulitan yang dihadapi pada pembelajaran matematika yaitu tidak dapat mengatur waktu saat mengerjakan soal yang diberikan dan kurangnya kemampuan literasi matematis; sedangkan untuk subjek S2 tingkat kesulitan yang dihadapi pada pembelajaran matematika yaitu kurangnya pemahaman terhadap matematika khususnya pada materi SPLDV, kurangnya literasi matematis, kurangnya usaha dalam mengerjakan soal tersebut.

Abstract

Jenis penelitian ini quasi eksperimen dan populasi pada penelitian ini yaitu seluruh siswa kelas IV di SDN Kebayoran Lama Selatan 03. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan yaitu rancangan penelitian eksperimen dalam bentuk Post-Test Only Control Group design menggunakan tes dalam bentuk soal uraian. Pendekatan iceberg memberikan dampak positif bagi kemampuan numerasi siswa karena terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan pada pembelajaran matematika yang menggunakan pendekatan iceberg terhadap kemampuan numerasi siswa. Kemampuan numerasi siswa yang menggunakan pendekatan iceberg lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to determine empirically the appropriate number of items that meet all item selection criteria, from classical test theory to item response theory.Methodology – This study used the Mathematical Mindset Scale (MMS) as an instrument for a non-test. It was conducted on 259 Mathematics Education students in Indonesia to determine the appropriate number of items that meet all item selection criteria, from classical test theory to item response theory. This quantitative research has been analyzed, including sample adequacy tests, construct validity and reliability, the goodness of fit, model suitability to polytomous data, assumption tests (unidimensional, invariance, local independence), characteristic curve graphs, information function graphs, and standard error graphs.Findings – After several trials, 11 items passed the classical tests and item response theory criteria. It is also known from this study that non-test instruments can be less than 20 as long as they meet the analysis criteria at each stage.Contribution – This research contributes to helping increase insight and knowledge for researchers in the fields of education and psychology, especially those interested in non-test measurement tools and IRT and classical analysis.

Abstract

Di tengah pandemi Covid-19, siswa dituntut menguasai penggunaan komputer dalam pembelajaran matematika daring. Tingkat efikasi diri yang tinggi dapat secara signifikan mengurangi kecemasan matematika siswa dan sebaliknya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui tingkat kecemasan matematis terhadap efikasi diri komputer dalam pembelajaran matematika, dan mengetahui hubungan antara kecemasan matematis terhadap efikasi diri komputer. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan survei untuk mengumpulkan data. Partisipan dipilih dengan menggunakan probability sampling. Angket berisi 25 soal juga diberikan kepada 200 siswa kelas 8 MTSN 7 Model Ciracas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa seluruh indikator pada variabel kecemasan matematika menunjukkan skor rata-rata sedang dengan skor rata-rata tertinggi (3,14). Rata-rata efikasi diri komputer masih tergolong sedang dengan indikator tingkat besaran (????̅= 2,97) sebagai nilai rata-rata tertinggi. Nilai koefisien korelasi sebesar -0,193 menunjukkan adanya hubungan negatif yang signifikan dengan derajat korelasi yang dapat diabaikan. Amidst Covid-19 pandemic, students were required to master the use of computers in online mathematics learning. High level of self-efficacy could significantly reduce students’ math anxiety and vice versa. The purpose of this study was to determine the level of mathematical anxiety towards computer self-efficacy in learning mathematics, and investigate the relationship between mathematical anxiety towards computer self-efficacy. This quantitative study used survey to collect the data. The participants were selected by using a probability sampling. A questionnaire containing 25 questions were also given to 200 students in 8th grades at MTSN 7 Model Ciracas. The results revealed that all indicators in the mathematics anxiety variable showed a moderate average score with the highest average score (3.14). The average of computer self-efficacy was still moderate with a magnitude level indicator (????̅= 2,97) as the highest average value. The correlation coefficient value was -0.193 implying that there was a significantly negative relationship with a negligible degree of correlation.

Abstract

Numerical literacy ability is currently most highly discussed in education. Numerical literacy ability is the ability that forms the basis for students in solving mathematical problems and is one of the indicators for the Minimum Competency Assessment (AKM). This study analyzes numeracy literacy skills regarding self-efficacy in junior high school students. The research method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data was taken using a questionnaire and an essay test instrument. The subjects in the study were students who represented the category of self-efficacy, namely students with low, medium, and high abilities. The results showed that students in the high self-efficacy category met four indicators of numeracy literacy skills, namely, the problem understanding process, the problem modeling process, the process of using concepts in solving problems, and the process of interpreting and evaluating problems. Students with moderate self-efficacy fulfill three indicators of numeracy literacy skills: problem understanding, problem modeling, and the process of using concepts in solving problems. Meanwhile, students with low self-efficacy fulfill one indicator of numeracy literacy ability, namely the process of understanding the problem. Therefore, the results of this study indicate that the better the students' self-efficacy, the better their numeracy literacy skills are.

Abstract

This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 204 Jakarta with research subjects, namely class VIII-B students. This study aimed to determine students' mathematical literacy skills based on Kolb's learning style. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, using instruments like questionnaires, test questions, and interview guides. Questionnaires are used to categorize Kolb's learning styles. At the same time, the mathematical literacy test was given as many as four description questions with Circle material and interview guidelines to find more in-depth information related to the mathematical literacy abilities possessed by the subjects in this study. Based on the research that has been done, students with diverging learning styles tend to use concrete experiences they have learned and are not afraid to try. Subjects with an assimilation learning style tend to emphasize theory, subjects with a convergent learning style look more active and have high self-confidence, and accommodation subjects tend to have concrete problem-solving experiences. Subjects with the Kolb learning style can show the process of mathematical literacy, which is suitable for the context of still common questions.
