Abstract

The purpose of this article is to map and describe the role of Islamic boarding schools, which are built within a tradition of Islamic boarding schools as well as inculcating moral values ​​in Islamic boarding schools in an effort to instill character education in the current post-modern era and possibly in the future. This article uses a type of literature research by collecting writings about the role of Islamic boarding schools in the formation of the character of a santri supported by the main elements of Islamic boarding schools, namely the presence of kyai (main teacher). The education system and the cultivation of moral values ​​in Islamic boarding schools cannot be separated from the role of the kyai, who physically educates and instills noble moral character in each of his students. Islamic boarding schools must play themselves as guardians and preservers of religious values and as reformers of religious understanding and social education in the global or post-modern era.

Abstract

Coffee culture has existed in Indonesia for ages and has a long history. Its existence is indicated by coffee shops in various regions and areas in Indonesia, e.g., in heritage buildings or areas. This research aims to analyze coffee culture in historical coffee shops and coffee shops built in heritage buildings, followed by finding the benefit and impact of heritage value on their coffee culture. This research was done on two coffee shops in Jakarta (Kopi Es Tak Kie and Starbucks Filateli) and another two in Bandung (Warung Kopi Purnama and Starbuck Asia Afrika). Observation, literature study, and in-depth interviews with visitors, employees, and employers were conducted to gather the required information and data. This research shows that heritage values increase the attractiveness and value of the coffee shops mentioned, even though their way of interpreting and upholding them is different. The family-owned coffee shops uphold their heritage values by highlighting the shops' history, while the chain coffee shops uphold theirs by taking advantage of the historical buildings or areas as the main component of their identities. DOI: https://doi.org/10.26905/lw.v13i1.5088

Abstract

This study aims to analyze in depth the prospects of the Islamic economy in Indonesia during the Prabowo-Gibran leadership era, identify the opportunities and challenges faced, and formulate strategy recommendations to encourage comprehensive and sustainable Islamic economic growth. Using a qualitative approach through literature study, this study collects and analyzes various related literature sources, such as books, journals, research reports, and other relevant written sources. This research also examines Prabowo-Gibran's vision, mission, and work program related to the development of the Islamic economy in Indonesia. The results showed that the Prabowo-Gibran leadership era had great opportunities in the development of the Islamic banking and finance industry, the Islamic economic sector in the fields of trade, halal tourism, and MSMEs, as well as increasing public literacy and education about the Islamic economy. Supportive regulations and policies, financing, and Islamic economic diplomacy in the global arena are also important prospects in this era. However, the main challenges faced include the availability of competent human resources, competition with conventional economic systems, and harmonization of policies between the center and the regions. This research provides recommendations for strategies that can be applied by the Prabowo-Gibran administration to optimize opportunities and overcome challenges in the development of the Islamic economy in Indonesia

Abstract

Abdullah an-Naim menyebut bahwa kompleksitas persoalan di era modern bisa terjawab dengan melakukan evolusi syariah. Di antara yang terpenting di dalam melakukan evolusi syariah adalah modernisasi peran nasakh. Sebab, nasakh di dalam hukum Islam memiliki peran yang vital. Selain juga nasakh memiliki kompleksitas yang tinggi dalam persoalan-persoalan fikih dan teologis. Penulis menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan mengambil jenis penelitian pustaka (library research). Sedangkan model penelitian yang digunakan yakni analisis kritis dengan menggunakan pendekatan nasakh dan sosial budaya. Hasilnya: Pertama, secara metodologis pemikiran An-Na’im sangat dipengaruhi oleh gurunya Mahmoud Mohammed Toha. Kedua, Pemikiran hukum Abdullah Ahmed An-Na’im bisa dilihat secara epistimologi yang didasarkan pada reformasi metodologi nasakh dengan menghidupkan kembali semangat ayat-ayat Makkiyah. Menurutnya, Nasakh pada hakikatnya adalah penundaan pesan fundamental dan universal ayat-ayat Makkiyah yang dikenal dengan nasakh terbalik
