Abstract

Sub-districts Kie and Fatumnasi are two sub-districts in mainland West Timor that cultivate local potatoes from Soe. This germplasm needs to be preserved and developed to diversify non-rice alternative food. One of the main obstacles in cultivating potatoes is the presence of pests, but so far there have been no reports of pests on local potato plants from Soe from the two sub-districts, so this research needs to be done. This study aimed at an inventory of important pests on local potato plants from Soe as a database for early detection to prevent the occurrence of explosive pests. This research was conducted on potato plantations in Fatuulan Village, Ayofanu Village, Nunleu Village, and Nenas Village. The method used is a purpose survey at a specified sample point. A sampling of insect pests is done by direct observation and insect nets. The pests found were put in a killing bottle or 70% alcohol, collected, and identified. Observation variables include the type of pest, symptoms of pest attack, and morphological characteristics of the stadia found. The data obtained were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that five species of pests damaged local potatoes from Soe. The five pests were Spodoptera litura, Henosepilachna vigintioctomaculata, Liriomyza sp, Phthorimaea operculella, and Nezara viridula. The identification results showed that in Kie District there were three pest species, namely S. litura, H. vigintioctomaculata, and Liriomyza sp. Meanwhile, in Fatumnasi District, there were four types of pests, namely H. vigintioctomaculata, Liriomyza sp, P. operculella, and N. viridula

Abstract

Serangan jamur patogenik pada buah-buahan dan sayuran merupakan salah satu masalah mendasar yang menyebabkan rendahnya produksi pasca panen di Indonesia. Buah tomat merupakan produk pertanian yang mudah rusak dan sangat rentan mengalami kerusakan mekanis, fisiologis, dan patologis apabila tidak dilakukan penanganan pascapanen yang benar. Hal ini menyebabkan buah tomat dengan mudah terkontaminasi oleh jamur patogen. Penelitian yang telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Maret sampai Mei 2018 ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jamur yang berasosiasi dengan buah tomat yang dijual pada beberapa pasar tradisional di Kota Kupang dan Kabupaten Kupang. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan di lokasi pedagang buah tomat di empat pasar tradisional yang ada di Kupang yaitu pasar Penfui, pasar Oeba, pasar Inpres Naikoten, dan pasar Oesao. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei di lapangan dan eksperimen di laboratorium. Sampel buah tomat sakit dimasukkan ke dalam plastik sampel, diberi label dan dibawa ke laboratorium untuk pengamatan lebih lanjut dan pengidentifikasian patogen secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Pengamatan makrokopis dilakukan untuk mengamati warna dan bentuk koloni, serta kecepatan tumbuh pada cawan Petri. Pengamatan secara mikroskopis dilakukan untuk mengamati persekatan hifa, bentuk dan ukuran konidia, konidiofor, dan tubuh buah lainnya. Data gejala dan tanda patogen pada buah tomat serta identifkasi patogen secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis dianalisis secara deskriptif dan disajikan dalam bentuk gambar yang dibandingkan dengan literatur yang relevan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat tujuh species jamur pascapanen yang berasosiasi dengan buah tomat di pasar, yaitu Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus wentii, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus parasiticus, Mucor circinelloides, Fusarium oxysporum, dan Penicillium lanosum.

Abstract

Kecamatan Hewokloang merupakan salah satu sentra produksi kakao di Kabupaten Sikka, Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Produksi kakao terkendala oleh berbagai hama dan penyakit. Salah satu penyakit utama pada kakao adalah busuk buah yang disebabkan oleh Phytophthora palmivora. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk untuk mengetahui cara pengelolaan budidaya kakao dan Insidensi penyakit busuk buah phytophthora di Kecamatan Hewokloang. Penelitian ini berlangsung pada bulan Februari hingga Mei 2020. Survei dilakukan dengan metode pengambilan sampel secara sengaja bertingkat (Stratified Purposive Sampling). Pada tingkat kecamatan ditentukan tiga desa yang memiliki tanaman kakao terbanyak, kemudian di setiap desa dipilih tiga rumah tangga petani yang memiliki tanaman kakao terbanyak. Di setiap rumah tangga petani, 20% dari total tanaman kakao yang telah menghasilkan buah ditentukan sebagai sampel dengan metode undian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Insidensi tanaman kakao sakit dan Insidensi buah kakao yang menunjukkan gejala busuk buah masing-masing berkisar antara 64% -75% dan 15% - 65%. Dari ketiga desa sampel, Insidensi tanaman kakao sakit dan buah kakao bergejala busuk terendah ditemukan di Desa Munerana, sedangkan tertinggi di Desa Rubit. Hal ini dikarenakan petani kakao di desa Munerana mempraktekkan cara budidaya kakao yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan yang dilakukan oleh petani kakao di desa Wolomapa dan di desa Rubit.

Abstract

Penelitian dilaksanakan untuk menentukan patogenisitas Botryodiplodia theobromae dalam menginfeksi batang cendana dan menguji kemampuan 10 isolat Trichoderma spp. dalam menghambat pertumbuhan dua isolat B. theobromae secara in vitro. Uji patogenisitas dilakukan dengan menginokulasi potongan isolat B. theobromae pada batang cendana. Uji antagonis dilakukan menggunakan metode kultur ganda dengan 10 isolat Trichoderma spp. dan dua isolat B. Theobromae sebagai kombinasi perlakuan. Hasil uji patogenisitas membuktikan bahwa B. theobromae menyebabkan gejala penyakit dimulai pada hari ke 30 setelah inokulasi. Hasil uji antagonis menunjukkan bahwa isolat-isolat Trichoderma spp. mampu menghambat pertumbuhan dua isolat B. theobromae melalui antibiosis dan kompetisi. Penghambatan terbaik terhadap B. theobromae Bt01 dicapai oleh T. viride TVJKS (53.20%), sedangkan penghambatan terbaik terhadap B. theobromae Bt02 dicapai oleh T. hamatum THAK (53.26%).

Abstract

Tomato plays an important role in Indonesian agriculture. Tomato production has been constrained by diseases, one of which was bacterial wilt (Ralstonia solanacearum). Application of Vesicular Arbuscular Mycorhiza (VAM) has been reported to be effective in suppressing diseases and can improve plant growth. This study was aimed to test the effect of VAM Glomus sp. in suppressing bacterial wilt disease on tomato (Lycopersicum esculentum). This research was conducted at Plant Disease Laboratory and Screenhouse of Agriculture Faculty, Nusa Cendana University. Seven treatments with three replications were arranged in Randomized Completely Block Design experiment. The treatments were 5 grams, 10 grams, and 15 grams of Glomus sp. per polybag that applied 1-week before pathogen inoculation, and also 5 grams, 10 grams, and 15 grams of Glomus sp. per polybag that applied simultaneously with pathogen inoculation. Control treatment was only inoculated with the pathogen. Three polybags, with two tomato plants planted in each were considered as one experimental unit. Ralstonia solanacearum was isolated from diseased tomato plant. Isolate pathogenicity was confirmed through hypersensitivity test on tobacco plants and on 21 day-old tomato plants. Two-week old tomato plants were inoculated with 15mL of suspension. The stem was punctured with sterile needle pryor inoculation. The result showed that Glomus sp. application before pathogen icoculation lowered disease incidence significantly. Application of 15 grams Glomus sp. before pathogen inoculation caused the greatest mycorrhizal vesicle formation in tomato root, which might also increased plant height and the number of leaves significantly.

Abstract

Ketersediaan buah cabai di pasaran umumnya tidak stabil. Saat panen raya suplai cabai melimpah sehingga harganya rendah. Sebaliknya saat musim hujan, suplai cabai sangat terbatas sehingga harganya melonjak. Masyarakat desa Oeltua Kabupaten Kupang umumnya adalah petani dan peternak. Salah satu tanaman yang banyak diusahakan adalah cabai. Melalui kegiatan PKM ini dilakukan transfer ilmu pengetahuan dan keterampilan bagi Kelompok Tani Kaum Ibu Sonaf Honis Bonen dan masyarakat setempat untuk meningkatkan kecakapan dalam budidaya cabai serta pengolahan cabai, yaitu dengan pemanfaatan mulsa plastik hitam perak serta penggunaan food dehydrator dalam pengolahan buah cabai. Kegiatan dilakukan dengan metode penyuluhan dan diskusi serta demplot penggunaan mulsa plastik dalam budidaya cabai, serta praktek pengolahan buah cabai menggunakan food dehydrator. Mulsa plastik berguna untuk mencegah pertumbuhan gulma serta mengurangi evaporasi. Hal ini sesuai untuk Kabupaten Kupang yang termasuk daerah semi arid atau beriklim kering. Proses pengeringan buah cabai cukup sederhana sehingga mudah dipraktekkan oleh peserta kegiatan ini. Luaran kegiatan PKM ini berupa produk buah cabai kering, boncabai, serta serpihan cabai atau chilli-flake. Luaran akademik berupa publikasi ilmiah pada jurnal nasional terindeks Sinta-5, publikasi pada media lokal online serta visdeo kegiatan yang diunggah pada web-Fakultas Pertanian Undana.

Abstract

This research was conducted in Oelbubuk Village, TTS Regency from October to December 2022. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of pests and causes of diseases that attack lime plants. The method used in this research is the survey method. Sampling was done by selecting villages where there are many limes. Sampling of pests is done with hands that have been coated with gloves, put into a jar containing 70% alcohol, while the diseased parts of the plant are taken stems, leaves, diseased fruit are taken and put into plastic samples and labeled, then taken to the Plant Pest Laboratory and Plant Disease Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Uiversitas Nusa Cendana to be identified. The results showed that in lime plants in Oelbubuk Village, South Central Timor Regency, 6 pest species were found, namely whitefly (Bemisia tabaci), wood locust (Valanga nigricornis), leaf hopper caterpillar (Phyllocnistis citrella), snail (Caracolus marginella), mealybug (Paracoccus marginatus), leafworm (Papilio demoleus); and 4 diseases, namely leaf spot, powdery mildew, sooty mildew, and mumps/diplodia.

Abstract

The main issue faced by Kelompok Tani Pelangi (Pelangi Farmer Group) in lowland rice cultivation is the frequent attack of pests and diseases, such as brown planthopper, rice stem borer, and rice bug. To control these pests, most farmers still rely heavily on synthetic pesticides without considering their impacts on beneficial organisms and the environment. This Community Partnership Programme aims to enhance farmers' capacity in environmentally friendly pest management through educational outreach and field-based practices. The methods employed in this programme include educational sessions, hands-on field demonstrations, interactive discussions, and questionnaire-based evaluations. The material delivered covered the identification of pests and diseases in rice, the introduction and implementation of eco-friendly pest control strategies, correct use of synthetic pesticides, and the role and function of refugia plants in conserving natural enemies. Evaluation results indicated a positive impact on the knowledge of farmer group members: 98% were able to identify pest types and their symptoms, 67% recognised predators in the field, 50% understood the principles of appropriate pesticide use, 60% comprehended the negative impacts of pesticides, and 44% recognised the benefits of refugia plants in the rice agroecosystem. The active participation of farmers during discussions and practical sessions reflects a behavioural shift towards sustainable farming practices. This Community Partnership Programme (PKM) has proven effective in improving ecological awareness and technical skills among members of Kelompok Tani Pelangi and is recommended as a model for empowering farmers in surrounding areas through the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) approach.

Abstract

Rice is one of the primary food crops that plays a vital role in improving the welfare of Indonesian society. However, crop failures often occur, one of which is caused by pathogen attacks. This study aimed to identify the types of pathogens affecting rice plants in Oesao Village, Kupang Timur District, Kupang Regency. The research was conducted from February to April 2024. Samples of diseased rice plants were collected from Oesao Village, while the isolation and identification processes were carried out at the Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Univesitas Nusa Cendana. The study utilized the diagonal sampling method by selecting five points within a paddy field and observing plants showing disease symptoms. Diseased plant parts were examined, photographed, sampled, and brought to the laboratory for pathogen isolation and identification. The results identified five types of pathogens infecting rice plants: Alternaria padwickii (causing circular leaf spots), Curvularia sp. (causing brown leaf spots), Drechslera oryzae (causing leaf spots), Fusarium oxysporum (causing stem spots), and Fusarium sambucinum (causing root rot). Interviews with farmers revealed that these pathogens significantly contribute to the decline in rice production in Oesao. These findings are crucial for developing pathogen control strategies in rice cultivation to enhance yield and food security in Indonesia, particularly in Oesao and its surrounding areas.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The study was conducted to evaluate the activities of non-value adding companies using Activity Based Costing and Activity Based Management. Using sales, cost and activity data obtained from observations and interviews, then processed and analyzed using Activity Based Costing and Activity Based Management to carry out activity efficiency that does not provide added value for expedition services. The first step in research was to calculate the cost of production of expedition services using Activity Based Costing, the next step was to evaluate non-value adding activities. The results of the study found that HP rental calculations based on the ABC method with the aim of Jogja, Balaraja, Bali, Denpasar, Citereup, and Cibitung experienced undercosting. By using ABM shows the result that is the difference in cost between the traditional method with ABC and ABM. The conclusion of this study is that the ABC method can be used to perform cost efficiency and the ABM method can be applied with the aim of evaluating activities without reducing the quality of expedition services. ABSTRAK Penelitian dilakukan untuk melakukan evaluasi pada aktivitas perusahaan yang bukan penambah nilai menggunakan Activity Based Costing dan Activity Based Management. Menggunakan data penjualan, biaya dan aktivitas yang diperoleh dari hasil observasi dan wawancara kemudian diolah dan dianalisa menggunakan Activity Based Costing dan Activity Based Management untuk melakukan efisiensi aktivitas yang tidak memberikan value added bagi jasa ekspedisi. Langkah awal yang dilakukan pada peneletian yaitu dengan melakukan perhitungan pada biaya produksi jasa ekspedisi menggunakan Activity Based Costing, langkah selanjutnya adalah melakukan evaluasi pada aktivitas bukan penambah nilai. Hasil penelitian ditemukan perhitungan HP sewa berdasarkan metode ABC dengan tujuan Jogja, Balaraja, Bali, Denpasar, Citereup, dan Cibitung mengalami undercosting Berdasarkan hasil perhitungan metode ABC maka dapat dilakukan evaluasi pada aktivitas dengan menggunakan metode ABM. Dengan menggunakan ABM menunjukkan hasil yaitu selisih biaya antara metode tradisional dengan ABC dan ABM. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah metode ABC dapat digunakan untuk melakukan efisiensi biaya dan metode ABM dapat diterapkan dengan tujuan untuk melakukan evaluasi pada aktivitas tanpa mengurangi kualitas jasa ekspedisi.
