Abstract

Mind mapping (peta pikiran) atau peta konsep merupakan salah satu metode atau cara mengajar yang menumbuhkan kreativitas peserta didik. Dengan metode ini daya ingat siswa mengenai materi dapat lebih lama dan mudah disimpan. Tujuannya penelitian ini untuk mengetahui peninngkatan hasil belajar pada materi pengertian dan manfaat pendapatan nasional, dengan menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif untuk melihat kecendurungan yang terjadi dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Berdasarkan hasil peneltian pada tahapan siklus I sebanyak 18 orang siswa atau 41% dari 44 orang siwa dinyatakan belum tuntas, hal ini disebabkan penggunakan model yang kurang tepat. Sedangkan siklus II hasil belajar semua siswa dinyatakan tuntas, hal ini menggambarkan dalam proses pembelajaran menggunakan model mind mapping pada siklus II berhasil. Dilihat dari hasil belajar yang diperoleh siswa pada siklus I dan siklus II dapat disimpulkan bahwa dengan menggunakan metode mind mapping dalam mata pelajaran ekonomi dengan materi pengertian dan manfaat pendapatan nasional hasil belajar siswa meningkat.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving ability is one of the skills that need to be taught to students since learning in elementary school. Mathematical problem-solving ability can be known from students' understanding of the information known and asked in the problem. They are also expected to be able to plan problem-solving strategies and perform appropriate calculation operations. Fifth-grade students of public elementary schools in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara still have difficulty solving problem solving problems. For this reason, the Schema Based Instruction (SBI) method was applied to improve students' mathematics problem-solving skills. This study aims to determine the effect of the SBI method on the mathematical problem-solving ability of fifth-grade elementary school students. This research used an experimental method with research design is posttest-only control group design. The research was conducted in class V in one of the public schools in Kelapa Lima District, Kupang City, NTT. The research instrument was a post-test question in the form of an essay of six numbers. The post-test results were tested using the T-test and post-hock to determine whether there was an effect of the SBI method on mathematical problem-solving skills. The calculation results show that the learning outcomes of students who learn using the SBI method are higher than students who learn using the expository method. It can be concluded that the SBI method can be used as one of the references for learning methods that can be used in learning mathematics in elementary schools to improve mathematical problem-solving skills. Abstract

Indonesian language learning in elementary schools aims not only to improve reading and writing skills but also to foster critical thinking and in-depth literacy skills. Critical literacy enables students to systematically analyze, evaluate, and express opinions based on the texts they read. This study aims to assist teachers at SDI Sikumana 3 in developing critical literacy-based Indonesian language learning to improve the quality of teaching and students' literacy skills. The method used was Community Service (PkM) with a participatory approach. Activities were carried out through workshops, direct classroom mentoring, and evaluation of learning planning and implementation. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed descriptively qualitatively. The results of the activities showed an increase in teachers' understanding of the concept of critical literacy, their ability to design literacy-based learning activities, and the application of critical reading and reflective writing strategies in the classroom. Teachers were able to facilitate students' questions, analyze information, and express opinions in writing and orally. This activity also encouraged the creation of a literacy culture in schools, including the use of storybooks, digital media, and group discussions. Based on these findings, critical literacy-based teacher mentoring effectively improves the quality of Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. Recommendations from this activity include the need for sustainable programs, school management support, and the integration of critical literacy into the elementary school curriculum to ensure more contextual, critical, and creative learning.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to improve teachers' pedagogical competence in developing local wisdom-based science teaching materials at GMIT Oemaulain Elementary School. The background to this activity is based on teachers' limited ability to connect science teaching materials to the cultural and environmental contexts of their students. The implementation method includes three main stages: needs analysis-based planning, a workshop on developing teaching materials, and intensive mentoring in developing teaching modules. The participants were all teachers at GMIT Oemaulain Elementary School. The results of the activity showed a significant increase in teachers' conceptual understanding and practical skills in designing contextual science teaching materials. Teachers were able to integrate local resources such as ikat weaving, palm trees, and coastal ecosystems into the teaching modules. Furthermore, the teachers' response to this activity was very positive, marked by high enthusiasm and active participation during the training and mentoring. Overall, this activity successfully strengthened teachers' pedagogical competence and encouraged more meaningful science learning for students. Integrating local wisdom has proven to be an effective strategy in increasing the relevance, creativity, and quality of learning in elementary schools.

Abstract

Listening ability is one of the language skills that plays an important role in learning Indonesian in elementary schools. However, in practice, students' listening ability is still relatively low because learning tends to be conventional and does not utilize interesting learning media. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of audio-visual media on students' listening ability in SDI Sikumana 3. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The research subjects consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class that was given treatment using audio-visual media and the control class that used conventional learning methods. Data collection techniques were carried out through story listening ability tests in the form of multiple choices and short descriptions. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical tests, including normality tests, homogeneity tests, and hypothesis tests using t-tests. The results showed that the average value of students' listening ability in the experimental class was higher than that of the control class. The results of the t-test showed that the significance value was less than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is a significant effect of the use of audio-visual media on students' listening ability in stories. Thus, audio-visual media can be used as an effective alternative learning medium to improve students' listening skills in Indonesian language lessons in elementary schools.

Abstract

Mathematical problem-solving skills are important to develop in learning mathematics in elementary schools. However, the fact that occurs is that students' ability in this competency is still lacking. This study aims to determine whether there is a difference in the mathematical problem-solving ability of students who learn using the Teams Games Tournament method modified by Schema-Based Instruction with students who learn using the expository method. This study used experimental research methods on fifth grade students of SDN Beumopu and was conducted from January to June 2025. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling. The samples in the experimental class and control class amounted to 32 students each. Data collection utilized mathematical problem-solving ability test instruments in the form of essay questions. Indicators of mathematical problem-solving ability include understanding the problem, planning problem-solving strategies, and implementing problem-solving plans. The results showed that the problem-solving ability of fifth-grade students who learned with the SBI modified TGT method was higher than that of students who learned with the expository method. Abstrak Bahasa Indonesia Kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika penting untuk dikembangkan pada pembelajaran matematika di sekolah dasar. Namun, fakta yang terjadi adalah kemampuan siswa pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa masih kurang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah perbedaan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa yang belajar menggunakan metode Teams Games Tournament modifikasi Schema Based Instruction dengan siswa yang belajar menggunakan metode ekspositori. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian eksperimen pada siswa kelas V SDN Beumopu dan dilaksanakan dari bulan Januari sampai bulan Juni 2025. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan cluster random sampling. Sampel pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol masing-masing berjumlah 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data menggunakan instrumen tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika berupa soal esai. Indikator kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika adalah memahami masalah, merencanakan strategi penyelesaian masalah dan melaksanakan rencana penyelesaian masalah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa kelas V yang belajar dengan metode TGT modifikasi SBI lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan siswa yang belajar dengan metode ekspositori.
