Abstract

The Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program aims to improve abilities, soft skills, and hard skills. The purpose of this study is to develop the right strategy to improve the soft skills of Islamic banking study program students in the MBKM program. This study uses the SWOT analysis method to analyze internal (strengths and weaknesses) and external (opportunities and threats) factors for students that are the basis for determining strategies. The total active student population of the Islamic banking study program in this study amounted to 41 students. The data collection technique used in this study was a questionnaire. The results of this study show that the strategy carried out by the Islamic banking study program is a Turnaround or WO strategy, namely by creating a strategy that minimizes weaknesses to take advantage of opportunities with the strategy "Take advantage of MBKM soft skills and hard skills competencies as student capital to become leadership agents who have broad insight through Internships / Student Exchanges or Village Building Projects"

Abstract

The economic development instruments normally used in Indonesia are the state, cooperatives, and private companies established for social welfare. Those related to Sharia are characterized by the presence of Sharia cooperatives which are observed to be growing rapidly despite several obstacles in terms of capital and innovation caused by the existence of financial technology (fintech). This phenomenon led to the conduct of this research to analyze development of a Sharia cooperatives financing model based on Islamic Fintech. The methodology applied was qualitative research using the ISM method. The participants include experts from AFSI, Fintech, Academia, the Office of Cooperatives and SMEs, OJK, KNEKS, and Sharia Cooperatives. The results showed nine elements used as the keyword to develop Sharia cooperatives as an economic development instrument for the MSMEs communities being assisted by unbankable cooperatives in Indonesia.

Abstract

The merger of Gojek and Tokopedia, two leading start-ups in Indonesia, culminated in the creation of a unified entity known as GoTo on May 17th, 2021. This strategic integration marks a significant milestone, positioning GoTo as a major player in the Southeast Asian market. The primary objective of this study is to comprehensively analyze the factors and challenges inherent in the GoTo E-Commerce Merger process. Employing a qualitative research methodology, this study delves into the complexities of the merger, shedding light on critical aspects. The merger not only facilitates geographical expansion for GoTo but also positions it strategically to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency. This geographical expansion is a crucial aspect, as it allows GoTo to tap into other Southeast Asian markets, creating a formidable presence that enables it to compete more effectively with prominent technology conglomerates. However, the post-merger scenario for PT GoTo has not been without its share of challenges. The study identifies and scrutinizes four major challenges faced by the company in the aftermath of the merger. This study provides a nuanced examination of the GoTo E-Commerce Merger, offering valuable insights into the underlying factors and challenges faced by PT GoTo. Through a qualitative research methodology, the study contributes to a comprehensive understanding of the dynamics at play in the post-merger landscape, shedding light on critical aspects that demand strategic attention and management.

Abstract

Entertainment tax is a significant source of Local Own Revenue (PAD), yet its effectiveness in enhancing PAD varies across different regions. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing entertainment tax revenue and taxpayer compliance, as well as to evaluate the role of tax administration in improving the effectiveness of tax collection. The methodology employed is a literature review, involving an in-depth analysis of theories and previous research findings related to entertainment taxation, taxpayer compliance, and tax administration. The results indicate that taxpayer awareness, transparent tax policies, and efficient tax administration are crucial for optimizing entertainment tax revenue. However, challenges such as low taxpayer compliance and inconsistent policies across regions hinder its potential. The study recommends enhancing taxpayer education and outreach, improving tax administration through digitalization and stricter oversight, and harmonizing tax policies across regions. By implementing these recommendations, it is expected that entertainment tax can contribute more significantly to PAD and support sustainable regional development.

Abstract

The Binjai City Government is actively working to alleviate traffic congestion by enhancing the quality of its bus-based public transportation system. As part of this effort, the North Sumatra Provincial Transportation Office introduced 22 new Trans Binjai fleets on August 20, 2023, operating on the Binjai-Medan City route to encourage a shift from private vehicle use to public transport. This study aims to analyze passenger characteristics and evaluate their satisfaction levels with Trans Binjai services. The research employs the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) and Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) to measure service performance. Findings reveal that most Trans Binjai passengers are female (65%) and predominantly aged 18-28 years (47%). The majority have a high school education (55%) and are self-employed (40%), with a monthly income of less than Rp 2,000,000 (60%). Additionally, 70% of passengers use Trans Binjai primarily for commuting to work. The CSI analysis yielded a satisfaction score of 78%, classifying the service within the “satisfied” category. Meanwhile, IPA analysis indicates that service attributes are distributed across quadrants II and III, signifying that certain aspects require urgent attention. Specifically, safety and comfort are identified as key areas for improvement to enhance overall passenger experience. These findings highlight the need for targeted service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and further encourage public transportation use. By addressing critical service aspects, the Binjai City Government can strengthen Trans Binjai’s role in reducing traffic congestion and promoting sustainable urban mobility.

Abstract

Pentingnya strategi pemasaran media sosial pada bisnis rajut handmade risjoot dalam memasarkan produknya dikalangan masyarakat, sebagaimana untuk mengetahui strategi pemasaran media sosial kerajinan rajut handmade risjoot serta hambatan dan solusi dari pemasaran kerajinan rajut handmade risjoot di Dusun 2 Karang Rejo Kecamatan Kutambaru Kabupaten Langkat.Metode penelitian yang digunakan oleh peneliti adalah dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Adapun sumber penelitian yang digunakan ialah data primer dan data sekunder.Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh dapat disimpulkan sebagai berikut: Pertama, strategi pemasaran yang dilakukan pada kerajinan rajut handmade risjoot menggunakan bauran pemasaran atau marketing mix yaitu 4C antara lain customer (konsumen), cost (biaya), communication (komunikasi), convenience (kenyamanan). Kedua, kendala atau hambatan dalam pemasaran kerajinan rajut handmade risjoot ialah banyaknya pesaing usaha kerajinan rajut yang merusak harga pasar sehingga pemasukan menjadi menurun. Ketiga, solusi dari pemasaran kerajinan rajut handmade risjoot ini ialah dengan menggunakan media social sebagai media pemasaran dan tetap mempertahankan kualitas yang ada serta terus berinovasi hasil karya agar terlihat berbeda dengan kerajinan rajut lainnya

Abstract

Research background: The Medan City Government has programmed to establish a house-of-worship-based cooperative, namely a mosque with the "Independent Mosque" program, so it needs to receive support from other parties who have an impact. Through Sharia cooperation described by the Cooperatives and SMEs Office as a financial institution that can help small business owners, especially those operating on a small and medium scale, in transactional problems. This is very important to do so that mosque cooperatives can develop and provide benefits for the underprivileged people in the area. Purpose of the article: This study aims 1) To find out and evaluate the effectiveness of mosques in Medan City in terms of community economic empowerment through the establishment of mosque cooperatives. and 2) To find out and analyze  the Sharia Cooperative Business Plan in realizing an Independent Mosque. Methods: The method used in this study is qualitative, with a literature study research approach, from several sources that are considered relevant to the research theme. The data source used is secondary data. The data collection technique is literature, and the data analysis technique used is qualitative descriptive. The majority of customers are MSMEs, resellers, distributors. Value Prepositions include family principles and shuttle services. Revenue Streams come from financing products, payment services, and property. Cost Structures consist of variable and fixed costs.

Abstract

The implementation of the SDGs in Indonesia and Medan in particular still faces several challenges, such as poverty and inequality. Therefore, an active role from various parties, including sharia cooperatives, is needed to support the implementation of the SDGs. This article aims to analyze the role of sharia cooperatives in supporting the achievement of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the city of Medan. The methodology of  this scientific paper uses a quantitative method with the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) analysis technique. Data sources were obtained from 12 sharia cooperatives in Medan City by involving 45 respondents consisting of cooperative administrators, members, and related stakeholders through questionnaires and interviews. The results show that sharia cooperatives in Medan City have a contribution to the SDGs, especially in the goals of poverty alleviation, economic growth and decent work, and reducing inequality. The role model of sharia cooperatives in supporting the SDGs developed in this article demonstrates that the primary priority is the innovation of sharia cooperative products and services in Medan City, followed by the second priority of strengthening the capacity of sharia cooperatives. The third priority is the expansion of networks and access to cooperatives and the last priority is the partnership and collaboration of sharia cooperatives in the city of Medan. The implications of this article have a theoretical impact on the future model analysis and development of sharia cooperatives. They can also inform the practical development of innovations and services of sharia cooperatives as a strategic instrument in achieving the 2030 SDGs in the city of Medan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the understanding of online loan mitigation strategies based on Islamic financial literacy in INSAN Binjai students. The research method used in this study is qualitative. The population in this study is all INSAN Binjai students. The sample used in this study is students and professionals of the sharia economics study program with certain considerations. The data collection techniques used are interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with INSAN Binjai students and Islamic finance professionals. The analysis technique used is SWOT analysis. The results of the study show that there are four suggested approaches to solve the problem of online loans: (1) Holding Islamic financial literacy programs, such as seminars and training, (2) Using social media to disseminate information, (3) Establishing Islamic microfinance institutions that offer education financing, such as installment schemes with affordable margins or Qardhul Hasan contracts (benevolent loans) and (4) Providing counseling services for individuals facing this problem. It is hoped that this method will increase students' knowledge of finance, reduce the use of online loans, and encourage Islamic-based financial management
