Abstract

The present study investigated request strategy by non-native English speakers. The study focused at the rank of imposition in the choice of request and politeness strategy between twenty five males and females of postgraduate English students Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta. The data were collected by discourse completion tests (DCT) which consisted of six situations. Their responses were categorized using the scale of Trosborg request theory and Brown and Levinson politeness. The findings showed that the students utilized hearer oriented conditions strategy when uttered to the hearer with higher status. However, the male students tended to use direct request strategy in the situation when they had high position status. The combination request strategy was used to pressure the intention of request utterance. The male and female students also used some supportive moves in their utterance.

Abstract

Semenjak postmodernisme muncul sebagai diskursus kebudayaan yang banyak menarik perhatian. Amin Abdullah melakukan Ijtihad bagaimana pemikiran Islam menjadi dinamis dan visioner, berbagai teori-teori dari para filusuf barat maupun Islam kontemporer mempengaruhi berbagai gagasan yang ia gulirkan. Dia melahirkan postmodernisme dalam tiga persfektif utama yang digunakan untuk melihat data penelitian ini, yakni; dekonstruksi, relative, dan pluralitas. Penelitian ini difokuskan bagaimana melihat perkembangan literatur Filsafat Islam di Indonesia dengan Postodernisme Amin Abdullah. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kepustakaan (library research). Berdasarkan jenis penelitian tersebut, penelitian ini bersifat deskriptif yang dilakukan melalui penelusuran dan telaah terhadap karya-karya ilmiah, baik yang tertuang dalam buku, jurnal, serta berbagai media yang mengulas topik penelitian ini. Secara garis besar, penelitian ini dilakukan melalui dua tahap, yaitu; pertama, tahap pengumpulan data; dan kedua, tahap pengolahan dan analisis data dengan metode analisa tertentu. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif, dimana penelitian yang ditujukan untuk mendiskripsikan dan menganalisis fenomena, peristiwa, aktifitas sosial, sikap, kepercayaan, persepsi, pemikiran orang secara individual maupun kelompok. Dari pandangan tersebut, didapati tiga kesimpulan utama; Pertama, literatur filsafat Islam di Indonesia semakin terus berkembang, baik secara jumlah maupun secara tema-tema. Kedua, penerbitan beragam literatur tersebut telah membawa pengaruh pada ruang lingkup dan model kajian filsafat Islam di Indonesia. Pemekaran dan perluasan terjadi di ranah literatur pengantar filsafat Islam yang menunjukkan adanya perluasan materi dan sudut pandang. Di ranah kajian pemikiran filsuf Muslim perluasan terjadi ke arah studi yang lebih mendalam tentang pemikiran seorang filsuf Muslim. Hal ini menjadi jawaban bahwa Postmodernisme yang ditawarkan oleh Amin Abdullah; Dekonstruksi, Relativisme, dan Pluralisme dalam filsafat Islam di Indonesia terlihat berkaitan dengan perkembangan literatur filsafat Islam di Indonesia. Namun, berkaitan dengan teman tokoh masih belum terlihat adanya unsur postmodernsisme lokalitas. Dimana tokoh-tokoh filsafat Islam yang dikaji masih berkaitan dengan tokoh filsafat utama dalam sejarah awal filsafat islam.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menerapkan model pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media prezi untuk meningkatkan pemahaman Mata Pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SMK Pelita Madani Pringsewu. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa Kelas XI. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian tindakan kelas (classroom action research) yang digunakan untuk memecahkan masalah pembelajaran di kelas yang berusaha mengkaji dan merefleksikan secara mendalam beberapa aspek dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dibagi dalam dua siklus yang disesuaikan dengan alokasi waktu dan topik yang dipilih. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, maka dapat diambil kesimpulan bahwa penerapan media prezi dapat meningkatkan pemahaman Mata Pelajaran bahasa Inggris. Peningkatan ini ditunjukkan dengan ketercapaian rata-rata skor pemahaman konsep siklus I sebesar 73 dengan ketuntasan 69% dan pada siklus II sebesar 83 dengan ketuntasan 94%. Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa telah terjadi peningkatan sebesar 50%. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan model pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media prezi ini dapat meningkatkan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

Higher education increasingly leverages artificial intelligence (AI) to foster higher-order cognitive skills; however, in Indonesia, students of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) often depend on rote memorization, limiting the growth of critical thinking and moral reasoning. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of a ChatGPT-based PAI learning model in enhancing students’ dual thinking abilities. A mixed-methods quasi-experimental design was implemented with 32 undergraduate students assigned equally to experimental and control groups; instruments comprised a critical thinking test, a moral reasoning test contextualized with Islamic dilemmas, and a transcript analysis guide, all expert-validated. Quantitative results showed notable post-test gains in the experimental group for critical thinking (M = 78.6, SD = 7.8) and moral reasoning (M = 76.8, SD = 7.9), while qualitative analysis indicated that 56.3% of students reached advanced critical thinking levels and 68.8% demonstrated advanced moral reasoning. The findings indicate that integrating ChatGPT enhances both cognitive and affective learning outcomes in PAI. The study concludes that a ChatGPT-based model is effective for strengthening critical thinking and moral reasoning, and contributes empirical evidence on generative AI in Islamic education; practically, it underscores ChatGPT’s utility as a dialogic partner when guided by lecturers. The implications include scaling to larger samples and longer interventions and exploring adaptive prompting strategies across diverse educational contexts.

Abstract

Nowadays content standard junior high school students are hoped to master vocabulary about 1000 words, so they can understand the conversation. But it fact, most of the students in junior high school do not master vocabulary well. So, the teacher should be able to choose a good media to help students to increase their vocabulary. In this case, Puzzle Games by Smart Phone is media that can be used to transfer vocabulary material for the students. The objective of this research is to find out the effect Puzzle Games by Smart Phone in vocabulary. This research was true experiment design. Pre test and post test were use to collect the data. There are two problems of the study, (1) is there any significant differences between before and after treatment in vocabulary mastery for the seventh grader students in SMP N 5 Sekampung Udik Satap in academic year 2023/2024?, (2) is there any effect of using Puzzle Games by Smart Phone in vocabulary student junior high school of SMP N 5 Sekampung Udik Satap in academic year 2023/2024?. As a source of data, the researcher utilized Puzzle Games by Smart Phone to teach vocabulary for the students. The media help students to learn vocabulary easier and more interesting to understand the subject, so their vocabulary would increase. The result of the research, it was found that the mean score of Puzzle Games by Smart Phone in pre test is 53,86, in treatment is 81, and in post test 85,33. It means that the student’s vocabulary has increased, and there is significant difference between before and after of using Puzzle Games by Smart Phone in vocabulary instruction. Abstract

This article aims to examine the development of e-learning (electronic learning) in the last 11 years. This research was also carried out to find out trends in e-learning research, identify relationships between scientific concepts, and find out e-learning networks based on keywords (co-occurrence) and author collaboration (co-authorship). The method used in this research is descriptive bibliometric analysis, the data used was taken from 2010-2021. Data collection was carried out based on the Google scholar database with the keyword e-learning with a publication limit of 1,000 journal articles. Data collection was carried out using Publish or Perish (PoP) software as metadata. Data analysis was performed using Vosviewer software as a medium for bibliometric analysis. The results showed that in the last 11 years the number of publications on information architecture research indexed by Google Scholar has fluctuated, but in terms of quantity it has increased significantly. The highest publication growth development occurred in 2020, reaching 102 journal articles (10.2%), while the lowest publication occurred in 2019 with a total of 53 journal articles (5.3%). While mapping the development of information architecture research publications based on keywords (co-occurrence) indicates a relationship between e-learning concepts accompanied by 6 dominant clusters, although this research has not been widely researched, research in the field of e-learning can foster research opportunities with topics unrelated topics.
