Abstract

This study investigates the dynamics of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) instruction at STIES Mitra Karya within the current digital academic environment. With the integration of digital platforms such as Learning Management Systems (LMS) and the adoption of blended learning approaches, ESP teaching has evolved to become more flexible, contextualized, and aligned with the professional needs of students in the fields of economics and business. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation analysis. The findings reveal that digital technologies have significantly enriched the learning process, enhancing accessibility and engagement. However, challenges persist, particularly regarding infrastructure limitations, digital literacy gaps, and the readiness of human resources. Institutional support, including the provision of training programs, network enhancement, and innovation incentives, is identified as critical to the successful transformation of ESP teaching. This study emphasizes the need for sustainable strategies to ensure the ongoing effectiveness and resilience of ESP instruction in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze engaging and easily accessible writing instruction strategies for beginner university students. Writing skills pose particular challenges for students, especially when faced with academic demands and the use of a foreign language. Conventional, monotonous teaching methods often fail to overcome psychological barriers such as anxiety and lack of motivation in writing. Through a qualitative descriptive approach using a case study of students at STIES Mitra Karya, this research identifies that interest-based strategies, the use of simple visual media, and student collaboration can enhance both motivation and writing quality. The analysis results reveal significant improvements in paragraph structure, sentence transitions, vocabulary, grammar, and writing length after implementing the new strategies. Students also demonstrate a more positive attitude toward writing activities. This study emphasizes the importance of transforming writing instruction into a fun and inclusive learning process, as well as the critical facilitative role of instructors in creating a supportive learning environment.

Abstract

Public speaking is vital for young entrepreneurs to express ideas confidently and clearly. However, many students lack this ability due to limited access to practical training. This program aimed to improve the communication skills of student organization members through practice-based public speaking training. The two-day training was held at the Nahdlatul Ulama Hall in Bekasi City and involved 30 Indonesian Islamic Student Movement participants. The method included lectures, discussions, and business presentation simulations. Evaluation results significantly improved confidence, message structure, and vocal techniques. Participants also expressed greater interest in developing their business ideas. The activity demonstrated that contextual and hands-on training effectively enhances students' communication skills. This program has strong potential to be replicated as a model for empowering youth organizations in developing community-based young entrepreneurs.
