Abstract

Abstract This article aims to describe the character development through dance learning at SMP N 35 Padang. The research was a qualitative research with a descriptive approach. This research was conducted in IX grade which amounted to 24 students. The main research instrument was the reseracher herself and assisted by supporting tools such as stationeries and photo camera. Character Education is the education that places great emphasis on the aspect of values that are expected to produce human the have a high sensitivity to the upholding of the values of truth, justice, humanity and progress which are the foundation in human life on this earth. Based on interviews with arts and culture teacher (on July 6, 2018) and several teachers at SMP N 35 Padang, they stated that the students at the school prefered to be busy with their own activities, even they had deviant behavior.The results of this study indicated that through dance students' characters emerged, these students’ characters were divided into three namely; appearing, some appearing and not appearing in the students. Then, the 8 characters that appeared in the students are religious, honest, tolerance, respect for achievement, friendship, love for peace, social care and the environment.The 6 other characters partly appeared in the students, namely curiosity, discipline, hard work, independent, responsibility, creative. Meanwhile, the 4 characters that did not appear at all in the formation of character through dance were the spirit of nationalism, love of the motherland, and fond of reading.Based on the description above, it could be concluded that dance could be a media in shaping Character Building through Dance Learning because there were 8 characters that appeared in each students. Abstract

This article discusses the use of internet-based school TV media as a means of educational media and a means of documentation of students' artworks at Brother Padang Junior High School. The research method uses qualitative research with a descriptive analysis approach. Data collection techniques used in this study used observation techniques, documentation studies and interviews. This research found that Frater Junior High School Padang developed school TV by utilizing the internet with the Youtube platform. Students of Frater Junior High School Padang are given media to utilize technology in operating and producing audio-visual media. Apart from being an educational tool, Frater TV is also utilized in documenting the artwork of students in the form of various performing arts, such as vocal, choir, dance and theater. From this utilization, students have direct experience in using technological media as well as documentation of cultural works of art.

Abstract

This research was motivated because the learning activities of cultural arts at SMA Negeri 1 Koto Balingka were not carried out correctly. The teaching and learning process was carried out less than optimally, extracurricular activities did not go well. Therefore, this study aimed to 1) find out the model used in class IPA SMA N 1 Koto Balingka, 2) produce a dance learning model design in school, 3) obtain a dance learning model in school and 4) produce a dance learning model in school. This research was development research using a 4D development model (define, design, develop, and disseminate). The type of data generated was a product trial assessing the creative movement resulting from the educational dance learning model. The instrument used to collect data consisted of a validity questionnaire by validators/experts/experts. The data analysis techniques in this study were product validity analysis, product practicality analysis, product effectiveness analysis. The research results could be concluded that learning to design dance works using the Development of Educational Dance Learning Model based on Themes (RIDAMA) is very attractive to students. Dance learning activities were easy to understand. It could be seen from the value of the model's validity of 90.26 with very valid criteria. The value of the practicality of the model by the teacher was 93.4 with very practical criteria. In comparison, students' practicality of the model was 98 very practical criteria. The model's effectiveness consisted of an overall assessment of student activity with a score of 92 with very active criteria and student learning outcomes in the knowledge aspect with a score of 97 with a very good predicate. The study results concluded that the Theme-based Educational Dance Learning Model (MPTPbT) developed was valid, practical, and effective. This model can overcome the limitations of dance learning tools in schools.
