Abstract

Abstract

One of the important supply chains that supply raw materials for edible oils is the production system. Influencing costs that can be minimized by preventing overstocking of raw materials. The purpose of this activity is to explain the importance of supply chain inventory planning in food ingredients and to estimate demand using forecasting techniques, i.e. production planning using Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP). to carry out the plan. Method based on Fixed Order Quantity (FOQ) and Periodic Order Quantity (POQ). This activity is targeted at food distributors, and it is expected that the effectiveness and efficiency of food distribution activities will be enhanced by applying these two methods. The socialization method is conducted through webinars (online seminars) with presentations of materials and questions and answers. There were 104 seminar participants, consisting of employees from various production and logistics institutions and 4 ITL Trisakti lecturers. According to the evaluation questionnaire after the exchange meeting, the seminar participants were satisfied and interested in the activities of her ITL Trisakti Lecturer. The results of this socialization activity will be very useful for the training of industry participants, especially those working in the food sector.

Abstract

Indonesia faces a significant gap in achieving its New and Renewable Energy (NRE) mix target of 23% by 2025. The biomass co-firing program in existing coal-fired power plants (CFPPs) has emerged as a flagship strategy for PT PLN (Persero) to accelerate this transition. However, the program's success is jeopardized by fundamental challenges within the biomass supply chain. The current supply chain is characterized by a fragmented, point-to-point model that has proven inefficient and gives rise to systemic issues, including high logistics costs, supply uncertainty, and a failure of upstream quality control, exemplified by sawdust moisture content frequently exceeding 45%. This research aims to (1) empirically analyze the weaknesses of the existing supply chain at four major CFPPs in Java, (2) design an optimized supply chain framework using a hub-and-spoke model, and (3) develop a techno-economic model for standardizing transportation tariffs. The research methodology integrates field surveys with quantitative modeling, employing a Vehicle Operating Cost (VOC) approach based on Minister of Transportation Regulation No. 60 of 2019 as the foundation for a cost simulator. The analysis confirms that the current point-to-point model is uneconomical due to extreme travel distances (up to 380 km), low asset utilization (50% load factor), and misaligned incentive structures. The proposed hub-and-spoke model is designed for hubs to function as centers for aggregation, pre-processing (drying, densification), quality control (in accordance with SNI 8675:2018), and buffer stocking. The VOC simulation validates the economic feasibility of this model, demonstrating significant cost savings through economies of scale (use of large-capacity trucks) and route optimization. This study concludes that the adoption of a hub-and-spoke model is a strategic prerequisite for the sustainability of the co-firing program. Policy recommendations include the implementation of a pilot project, the restructuring of procurement contracts based on the VOC model, and government incentives for hub development.

Abstract

Background: Halal logistics research in Indonesia is critical to ensure compliance with Islamic principles, enhance product safety and quality, and support business actors in the food, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing sectors to meet growing domestic and international demand. Currently, only 11% of logistics companies in Indonesia are halal-certified, indicating limited readiness to support halal supply chains by the end of 2024. High certification costs, complex procedures, and lengthy approval processes are key barriers.Purpose: This study develops a service quality analysis-analytical hierarchy process (SERVQUAL-AHP) model to strengthen halal policy and standardization in Halal Inspection Bodies (LPH) located in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (JABODETABEK) regions, in accordance with Law No. 33 of 2014 on Halal Product Assurance (JPH). aligning with Law No. 33 of 2014 on JPH.Design/methodology/approach:  Using a mixed-method approach with 77 logistics business actors and five experts. This study applies SERVQUAL, Importance Performance Analysis (IPA), and the AHP to identify service priorities and measure customer satisfaction using the Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) at LPH.Findings/Result: The results highlight priority areas for service improvement and indicate a high level of customer satisfaction, suggesting strong potential to further enhance the service quality of LPH in the JABODETABEK regionConclusion: The study concludes that improving halal logistics certification To improve the quality of services at LPH, both responsiveness and assurance must be strengthened, particularly through secure digital systems and complete documentation. The findings also contribute theoretically by demonstrating the integration of SERVQUAL, IPA, AHP, and the CSI as a structured framework for evaluating and prioritizing service quality improvements in halal-certified services. Although the CSI is already high (CSI = 89%), the presence of SERVQUAL gaps is −0,19 indicates the need for continuous improvement to fully meet customer expectations.Originality/value (State of the art): Previous studies on halal logistics mainly focus on food products and general logistics performance, while research on the service quality of halal logistics certification is limited. This study fills this gap by developing an integrated SERVQUAL–AHP model to evaluate service quality, prioritize improvements, and measure the CSI in halal logistics certification services provided by LPH in Indonesia.
