Abstract

Background: Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) is a personality disorder with the main symptoms of emotional instability, impulsive behavior, negative self-concept, and impaired interpersonal function. Recovery in BPD is directed at the existence of satisfaction and meaning in life even with limited conditions due to symptoms of the disorder that still exists. Purpose: The aim of this study is to explore the life experiences of BPD survivors in their recovery process. Methods: This research is a qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. In-depth interviews were conducted with 10 BPD survivors from the Indonesian BPD Community. The research was conducted from August to November 2021 and interviews were conducted using Zoom Meeting. Interview transcripts were analyzed using the Colaizzi method. Results: Six themes were extracted in this study, namely, the recovery process is not found alone, difcult to understand and love oneself, difcult to build stable relationships with others, journey to peace with oneself, the most painful experience that comes from the closest people and the experience of mental health services in Indonesia. Conclusion:The process of self-identification is the first step in the recoveryprocess in an individual’s journey with BPD. The available support systemhelps BPD survivors to be able to adapt to the experience resulting fromBPD symptoms. It is necessary to increase the knowledge of nurses aboutBPD in order to be able to provide good nursing care.

Abstract

The group of people who undergo risky behavior in various forms of health problems, both physical and psychosocial, are teenagers. There needs to be attention to the health of adolescents because adolescents are an asset as well as an investment for future generations as well as potential human resources. Currently, the number of teenagers in Indonesia reaches approximately 20% of the population. This study aims to determine the relationship between smartphone use and sleep quality in students at the Hospital Nursing Academy. Dustira. The type of research used is the type of research in this research is descriptive correlative with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study is students and female students of the Hospital Nursing Academy. Dustira as many as 415 people. This sampling technique used Convaniece Sampling, which used the criteria of 381 teenagers. Data analysis used univariate analysis on each variable and then continued with bivariate analysis to see the relationship between the two variables using the chi-square analysis technique. Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire. The results showed that as many as 86% of respondents or the majority depended on smartphones. The general conclusion in this study is that there is a relationship between smartphone use and student sleep quality.

Abstract

Usia mahasiswa termasuk dalam fase emerging adulthood yang berpotensi tinggi untuk mengalami ketidakstabilan psikologis akibat banyaknya perubahan di masa transisi. Tahun-tahun kuliah merupakan periode usia puncak timbulnya depresi, khususnya pada episode pertama. Dampak depresi bisa bertahan lama atau berulang dan bisa sangat mempengaruhi kemampuan seseorang untuk berfungsi dan menjalani kehidupan yang bermanfaat. Depresi merupakan salah satu faktor tertinggi terhadap ide bunuh diri dan kejadian bunuh diri pada mahasiswa. Gangguan depresi pada mahasiswa berbeda dengan populasi umum karena gangguan depresi ini mungkin lebih sering muncul pertama kali, sedangkan pada orang dewasa pada kelompok usia yang lebih tua, gangguan depresi berulang lebih sering terjadi. Pengkajian depresi pada mahasiswa secara sensitif dan upaya mengurangi depresi dapat mengurangi risiko bunuh diri. Tujuan dari pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk melakukan pengkajian awal (deteksi dini) pada mahasiswa terkait Depresi dan melakukan pendidikan kesehatan jiwa terkait mengenal depresi, pencegahan depresi dan bagaimana mencari bantuan. Metode pelaksanaan akan dilakukan secara daring melalui Zoom Meeting. Edukasi daring akan diawali oleh pre test dan post test untuk mengukur pengetahuan peserta sebelum dan sesudah diberikan edukasi daring. Setelah itu, peserta akan diberikan link google form Beck Depression Inventory-II untuk deteksi dini terkait depresi. Hal ini diharapkan mampu mencegah munculnya depresi yang menjadi faktor resiko dari bunuh diri. Selain itu, peserta dapat mengetahui kondisi kesehatan jiwa mereka dan segera mencari bantuan jika diperlukan.
