Abstract

Coral reefs found in Tihik-Tihik village shows moderate coral reef status with indications of greater potential for damage so that protection efforts are needed. This research aims to analyze the abundance and community structure of plankton in reef ecosystems natural and artificial reefs. Sampling was carried out in the month of October – November 2020 at four stations at high and low tide with using a plankton net, then identified in the Water Quality Laboratory FPIK Unmul. The identified plankton consisted of 7 classes, namely, Bacillariophyceae (21 species), Conjugatophyceae (3 species), Copepoda (8 species), Cyanophyceae (1 species), Dinophyceae (10 species), Oligotrichea (3 species), Trebouxiophyceae (1 species). The highest total abundance of artificial reef ecosystems was at station 2 pairs with a total of 6741 ind/l. The diversity index (H') ranged from 2.12 to 2.22. The uniformity index (E) ranged from 0.92 – 0.96. The dominance index (D) ranges from 0.11 to 0.13. Sorenssen similarity index ranged from 29 – 68%.

Abstract

Samboja Kuala is one of the Kelurahan in Samboja District which is an area where most of the population works as fishermen.  There are two types of fishery activities in the Samboja Kuala area, namely capture fisheries (fishermen) and aquaculture fisheries. One of the most common catches obtained by fishermen is shrimp.  Yellow-spotted shrimp (Metapenaeus monoceros) is one of the catches of fishermen shrimp in Samboja Kuala Waters.  This study aims to determine several parameters of population dynamics using the carapace length data frequency method.  The research was conducted in Samboja Kuala waters, Kutai Kartanegara Regency, in November-December 2022.  Based on the results of the study, the sex ratio between males and females was 0,38: 2,65.  The length range in male and female sex is 48,34 mm – 78,85 mm and 48,80 mm – 90,78 mm.  And the natural mortality (M) of males and females was 1,27 per year and 1,65 per year, the capture mortality (F) of males and females was 0,63 per year and 1,64 per year, the total mortality of males and females was 1,90 per year and 3,29 per year, and the exploitation rates of males and females were 0,33 and 0,50.  New additions of males occurred in October by 16,27% and new additions of females occurred in October by 24,93%.  And it is known that the yield per recruitment value is 0.04 grams / recruitment.

Abstract

Tiger prawn (Penaeus monodon) is a type of shrimp from the Penaeidea family and is one of the caught in Samboja waters. This research was conducted in November-December 2022 in Samboja Kuala Waters, Kutai Kartanegara by catching shrimp at night using trawl fishing gear. The sample used was 100 tiger prawns (Penaeus monodon) with 42 females and 58 males. This study aims to determine the morphometric characters of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) and to analyze the morphometric measurements. In the analysis using Ancova, the results obtained were 12 morphometric characters of tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon) with significant values greater than 0.05, namely RST, PK, PRT, PRN, PT, PP, PKB, PTB, PNB, PE and PTK . So based on the initial hypothesis, if the significant number is greater than 0.05 Ho, it is accepted, which means that there is no relationship between the morphometrics of male and female tiger shrimp (Penaeus monodon).

Abstract

Spear shrimp (Parapenaeopsis hardwickii) is one of the shrimps with the Penaidae family, morphometric measurements are carried out in order to see the things that affect the shape of the species. This study aimed to provide information about the morphometric study of Spear shrimp (Parapenaeopsis hardwickii) caught in the waters of Samboja, Kutai Kartanegara. This research was conducted in Samboja Waters, Kutai Kartanegara, in November-Desember 2022. The sample used was 250 Spear shrimp (Parapenaeopsis hardwickii). Morphometric studies on Spear shrimp (Parapenaeopsis hardwickii) used analysis with the analysis of covariant (ANCOVA) test to see the 18 morphometric covariates that affect the total length (PTO). Based on the results of the analysis of the ANOVA univariate test, it was found that 18 morphometrics had a significant value < 0.05 which means H1 was accepted, that all morphometrics affect PTO. Furthermore, the ANCOVA analysis was carried out, the results were 9 morphometrics which had sig <0.05, namely, head length (PK), length of the fourth internode (PRE), length of the sixth internode (PRN), headless length (PTK), length of the third lower segment (PTB), length of the fourth lower segment (PEB), length of the fifth lower segment (PLB), length of the sixth lower segment (PNB) and length of the tail (PE). Based on the results of the ANCOVA test. the most significant morphometric that influenced PTO was the 9 morphometry.

Abstract

Samboja Kuala has a vast sea and abundant natural resources. East Kalimantan Province. The increase in capture fisheries certainly has a positive effect on fishermen, but it is necessary to know that an increase is always followed to carry out more intensive exploitation. Overfishing conditions allow for the catch of a number of stocks that exceed the amount needed in a waters. Various fishing gear used. The fishing gear used by fishermen to catch shrimp includes trawls. So far there are no specific catches that refer to the cat shrimp species (M. sculptilis) in Samboja Kuala waters, so studies or research are needed to provide information about the cat shrimp species population in these waters. The purpose of this study was to determine the estimated biomass and distribution of cat shrimp caught during the day in the Samboja Kuala sea and abundant natural resources, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This research was carried out in November-December 2023, by conducting identification in the laboratory and taking samples of shrimp operating in Samboja Kuala Waters. The average stock density of cat shrimp (M. sculptilis) obtained during the day was 17.98 kg/km² and an estimated value of 442.28 kg with an area surveyed of 30.75 km². Based on research caught during the day cat shrimp were evenly distributed to all stations, the highest number of shrimp caught was obtained at station 5 and station 13.

Abstract

Samboja Kuala has a very wide sea and has a very abundant ecosystem and natural resources. The most dominant community work in Samboja Kuala is fishermen, the fishermen's catches include fish, shrimp, seaweed, and others. Brown Spot Shrimp (Metapenaeopsis barbata) is one of the catches in Samboja Kuala waters. Brown spot shrimp catches operate during the day as well as at night. This study was conducted in November-December 2022. Sampling using trawl fishing gear. The purpose of this study was to calculate sex ratio, age estimation, age group, mortality, and growth pattern. The sex ratio has 200 males and 300 shrimp females have a ratio of 0.66: 1.50. Age estimation of males and females, with growth rate (K) of male brown spot shrimp of 1,400 and females of 1.1 00, while asymbiotic length value (L∞) in males of 95.90 and females of 94.44. The age group of males ranges from 48.2 7 mm – 87.32 mm , females range from 47.2 2 mm – 84.45 mm,. The total coefficient mortality (Z) of males and females was 3.25 per year and 2.79 per year. The natural mortality coefficient (M) of males and females was 1.63370 per year and 1.40121 per year. The mortality coefficient due to capture of (F) males and females was 1.62 per year and 1.39 per year. The male and female utilization rates are 0.50 and 0.50. On the growth pattern has the results of the analysis of males, a new addition occurred in June amounting to 28.6.5,%. in females a new addition occurred in July of 15.05,%.

Abstract

Samboja Kuala has a very wide sea and has abundant natural resources, pink shrimp (M. affinis) is one of caught in Samboja Kuala waters.  The pink shrimp catches operate at night, because the intensity of the jinga shrimp catch is high, the possibility of exploiting shrimp resources will be threatened.  This research was conducted in November-December 2022. Shrimp sampling was carried out using mini trawls operated in Samboja waters. The purpose of this study was to study the sex ratio, growth rate, death rate, pattern of new additions, and yield per recruitment.  The sex ratio of male and female pink shrimp was 1.00:1.40.  The growth rate coefficient (K) for male and female pink shrimp is 1.10/year and 0.53/year and the estimated asimtotik length of male and female pink shrimp (L∞) is 144.58, and 145.11.  The male and female pink shrimp obtained an exploitation result of E>0.5, which means that the catch of pink shrimp is classified as overfishing.  New additions to catches New additions to male pink shrimp occurred in May with a percentage of 34.69% and female pink shrimp in September 20.71%.  Y/R values ​​for male and female pink shrimp were 0.058/year and 0.23/year.

Abstract

Jerbung shrimp (Penaeus merguensis) is one of the species caught in the waters of Samboja Kuala.  In an effort to conserve and utilize as well as high fishing intensity, the possibility of exploiting shrimp resources will be threatened.  This research was conducted in November-December 2022. This study aims to examine sex ratios, age groups, growth rates, mortality and exploitation, growth pattern, and yield per recruitment. Jerbung shrimp (P.merguensis) in Samboja Kuala waters, Kutai Kartanegara.  Shrimp sampling using a mini trawl operated in the waters of Samboja Kuala, Kutai Kartanegara.  The sex ratio of jerbung shrimp was 1:1.29.  The coefficient of growth rate (K) is 0,770 and the estimated length in nature (L∞) is 187,33.  Jerbung shrimp with a natural mortality value (M) = 0,197/year, a mortality value due to fishing (F) = 0,143, and a total mortality value (Z) = 1,061, with an exploitation value (E) = 0,135 which means that it is still at level it should be.  The peak of new additions to females occurred in July as much as 18,56%.  The Y/R capability was 0,071/year, and Emax calculated the Y/R relationship with the exploitation rate, which was 0,42.

Abstract

From the results of the study it can be concluded that mangrove ecosystems in the village of Tanjung Limau, Muara Badak District, were found in 5 types, namely (R. apiculata, A. alba, N. fruticans, C. tagal and S. alba). With species density ranging from 1-68 individuals / ha and thickness of mangroves between 160-200 m. While the results of the tourism suitability index obtained categories according to the carrying capacity of the region 8-10 people / day. There are 3 management strategies and development of mangrove ecotourism in Tanjung Limau Village, namely: first to make proposals to the private sector and the government in improving the management and development of mangrove ecotourism through capital assistance and improvement of tourism facilities and infrastructure in Tanjung Village, secondly to increase / encourage government participation in helping the community to manage and develop mangrove ecotourism and thirdly to coordinate and collaborate between communities, NGOs, the private sector and the government in managing and developing mangrove ecotourism.

Abstract

Perairan sekitar Pulau Miang memiliki aktivitas yang cukup tunggi, salah satunya aktivitas industri kelapa sawit yang mana limbah pembuangannya bisa langsung masuk ke dalam perairan tersebut. Kegiatan wisata dan masyarakat Pulau Miang Besar banyak yang langsung berhubungan dengan perairan. Kegiatan seperti pelayaran, penangkapan ikan dan pembuangan limbah secara langsung ke dalam perairan mempengaruhi kondisi kualitas perairan tersebut. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah menentukan status mutu air laut pada perairan Pulau Miang Besar dan untuk mengetahui atau menduga kondisi pencemaran yang ada pada perairan. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada saat pasang dan surut sebanyak 5 stasiun penelitian yang tersebar mengelilingi Pulau Miang Besar. Penentuan status mutu air laut menggunakan metode Indeks Pencemaran mengacu pada Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup Nomor 115 Tahun 2003. Parameter yang diamati terdiri dari parameter fisika dan kimia antara lain: suhu, salinitas, TSS, oksigen terlarut, pH, fosfat, dan nitrat. Hasil analisis yang didapatkan kemudian dibandingkan dengan baku mutu yang ditetapkan dalam Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 22 Tahun 2021. Status mutu air laut di perairan Pulau Miang Besar menunjukan bahwa tingkat pencemaran pada setiap stasiun termasuk dalam tercemar ringan saat pasang maupun surut. Parameter yang berpengaruh terhadap tingkat pencemaran perairan Pulau Miang adalah TSS, fosfat dan nitrat.
