Abstract

Pada era globalisasi, dunia dihadapkan dengan tantangan permasalahan baru yaitu arus teknologi, ideologi dan budaya yang semakin maju. Tak ayal, hal tersebut menciptakan benturan di kalangan masyarakat yang resistan terhadap arus perkembangan-perkembangan yang ada. Dari sini, masyarakat secara tidak langsung berperan sekaligus menjadi aktor budaya dan teknologi yang sedang mengglobal. Benturan-benturan tersebut telah diciptakan ketika fundamentalis berhadapan dengan konservatif yang tidak mampu menghindar dan terlibat dalam perkembangan dunia global. Pada puncaknya, perang kosmik pun dimulai dengan mengatasnamakan kebenaran dari satu sisi dan prasangka sebagai kejahatan di sisi lainnya. Agama seringkai dimengerti sebagai pemeran utama dalam benturan tersebut, semisal antara Yahudi dan Islam di Palestina, Hindu dan sih di Punjab, Katolik dan Protestan di Irlandia. Pemahaman tentang agama-agama bermanfaat untuk menghindari benturan tersebut dengan dialog dan pengaplikasian etika sebagai metode menciptakan perdamaian. Oleh karena itu, peran agama menjadi krusial selain sebagai petunjuk hidup namun juga sebagai cara kunci perdamaian bagi golongan yang berbeda. Untuk itu, Thich Nhat Hanh, sebagai master Zen dan Biksu Budha menawarkan ajaran kedamaian melalui pendekatan “engaged budhism” dan susunan “interbeing” yang berorientasi pada metode penciptaan kedamaian dunia tidak hanya bagi orang Buddha tetapi juga semua orang dalam menghadapi perbedaan dan perdamaian.

Abstract

Abstract: Langsih cave offers the space for the ritual which fulfills the requirement of Javanese tradition called Pesugihan defining as a supernatural practice and belief in getting rich quick through mysticism and the people should do such a ritual in a sacred place with the particular rule. Through the symbol and ritual experiences, there would find how the people chronologically believe in the sacred ritual that would conducive to the wealth of the ritual. Thus, this paper firstly tries to point out the role of Langsih cave as the site of traditional economic ritual for Javanese culture. The next discussion is examining the existence of pesugihan as on how the worldview representation to the ritual. The last is arguing the optional perspective based on Geertzian approach, which it offers interpretative theory of the culture at the semiotic experience due to its explication “construing social expressions on their surface enigmatical” but it still needs an explanation. The paper shows that the traditional economic ritual is surely a practice transcending from the ancestor unconsciously and the culture seems to be blurred because the role of the tough should be more rational, modernized or religious.الملخص: يسورغارLangsih  الفراغ لطقوس الذي يأدي إلي شروط تقليد الجاوية التي تسميpesugihan  . المقصد من  pesugihan يعني ممارسة الخارق و التصديق لتكون غنيا بسرعة بوسيلة التصوف, ووجب لكل نفر الطاعة علي الطقوس في أي مكان و بقواعد معين. بتفهيم الرمز وتجربة الطقوس سيكون هناك طريقة للناس لفهم بشكل طبيعي عن الطقوس المقدسة التي تفضي إلى الثروة الطقوسية. ففي أول هذه المقالة ستظهر إلي دور غارLangsih   كمكان الطقوس الإقتصاد التقليدي لثقافة الجاوية. ومناقشة بعدها يعني البحث عن التمثيل النظرة العالمية علي تلك الشعيرة. والأخر يعني التنازع عن منظور الإختياري بناء علي نهجGeertzian  , الذي يعرض عن النظرية التفسيرية بتجربة شبه لأن تفسير "حد التعبير الإجتماعي في سطحهم بغامض" يحتاج ألي التشريح. توضح هذه الورقة أن الطقوس الاقتصادية التقليدية هي الممارسات الفلسفة المتعالية من أسلاف دون وعي و كما لو كانت الثقافة مخفية لأن الدور الذي يجب القيام به هو تصبح أكثر عقلانية أو حديثة أو دينية.              Abstrak: Gua Langsih menawarkan ruang untuk ritual yang memenuhi persyaratan tradisi Jawa yang disebut pesugihan yang didefinisikan sebagai praktik supranatural dan kepercayaan untuk menjadi kaya dengan cepat melalui mistisisme dan orang-orang harus mamatuhi ritual di suatu tempat dengan aturan tertentu. Melalui interpretasi simbol dan pengalaman ritual, akan ada cara yang orang secara alami percaya pada ritual sakral yang akan kondusif bagi kekayaan ritual. Maka, makalah ini pertama-tama mencoba menunjukkan peran gua Langsih sebagai tempat ritual ekonomi tradisional untuk budaya Jawa. Diskusi selanjutnya adalah penelusuran keberadaan representasi pandangan dunia terhadap ritual tersebut. Yang terakhir adalah memperdebatkan perspektif opsional berdasarkan pendekatan Geertzian, yang menawarkan teori interpretatif semi-pengalaman karena penjelasan "membatasi ekspresi sosial di permukaan mereka secara misterius" tetapi masih perlu penjelasan. Makalah ini menunjukkan bahwa ritual ekonomi tradisional tentu saja merupakan praktik transendentalisme dari leluhur secara tidak sadar dan budaya tersebut seolah ditutup-tutupi karena peran yang harus dibuat adalah menjadi lebih rasional, modern ataupun agamis.

Abstract

This paper examines how pesugihan (seeking wealth through spirit assistance) contests with pilgrimage discourse ideologically. In specific, to trace more about the grounds of the rise of contrary assumption of the pesugihan, this study focusses on how the ideological view, as the essential thinking of people, develops identity, practice, and its spirituality matter. The identity is constructed from the single view in responding to the phenomena and creating a sameness of collective joy created into the group, as Edith Turner examines about communitas and false communitas to see how the contestation is crystallized. Furthermore, this paper reviews the various pilgrimage practices to see how the communitas applied what they believe in the context of the pilgrimage. Lastly, it discusses how the visitors find their spirituality on pilgrimage, to see the reconciliation of the communitas conflict through gaze in visiting the pesugihan site. The paper argues that pesugihan is contested due to the contrary assumption of the practice rather than to see it as being religious with the traditional matter of context.

Abstract

In the beginning, the surface of BSMI problematizes the red symbol that was used by PMI because it was analyzed as a Christian symbol, feeling hesitant when used as a cross symbol in humanitarian missions is the basic reason as their appearance of religiosities in public life. Talking about the symbol, the crescent has a long history of how it can be “identified” as a symbol of Islam and how the people identified those as an identity of the religion by signifying sacred behind the symbol. The symbolization of religion cannot be separated from the method of semiotic approach where explains the science of sign. Through this sign, people can find their identity and communicatewith each other as social interaction and also find a sacred behind the symbol. For the last theory, I would use the social movement and development that indicate the turn organization not only happen in the case of philanthropy but also will eradicate to the other social application movement. Therefore, in my opinion, the surface of BSMI cannot be rid by the development of crescent symbol interpretation as a symbolization of religious identity due to symbolism as a way to communicate and interact with society

Abstract

In this contemporary life, television becomes an effective media of the da’wa or proliferation. The flourishing some of Islamic programs also effects to the order of the religious public life in Indonesian society. Using the descriptive analytical research, this essay investigates the process of religious proliferation program who become popular in society. It is started from the objective of some television channel to show “kuliah subuh”, a religious speech from an expert people that understand about Islamic religion or ustad after the dawn. Then the writer tries to find an effect of the media especially television to the audiences from the message of the program and their daily life expressions. Finally, “kuliah subuh” appears as a mediated religion which produces certain effects on religion in order to adapt it to television formats. It make the birth of transformations and paradoxes within the institutional model of religiosity.

Abstract

How Muslim youth encountering local festival is fascinating discourse in the age where the spirit of Islamic revivalism is going on. By this, Dieng Culture Festival is known as one of the popular annual ritual which performs the traditional cultural attraction in Central Java, especially in Banjarnegara and Wonosobo which is heavily rooted on Javanese Hindu tradition. The different perspective of the awareness in considering the Importance of the ritual comes from the diverse community and society to acknowledge this kind of the ritual. So, this paper tries to examine the participation of the youth in enduring the annual festival as one of the events which not only give the advantage for the sustainability of the ritual itself, but also influence to the society around the place economically, socially and spiritually. Through youth participation, this research would try to reveal how youth is significant resource to build multi-cultural community. Using the theory of the “spectacle attraction”, the writer tries to trace how useful the ritual effecting Dieng as one of the wellknown place of the tourism and spiritually affecting to the way of religious life to see the ritual through the direct observation to the place, interview the practitioner of the ritual and the documentation review as the supporting data of the research. Here, I argue that encountering Islam and local tradition has shaped Muslim youth identity in understanding local community and multi-cultural society.

Abstract

The touristic place provides discourses that are worth examining as to which how the management of the site, its internal contestation and development, as well as experiences of its visitors. Examining a heritage of the ancient Majapahit kingdom in Java, this article discusses the assemblage of tourism and religious sites and the extent the site serves as a reservoir for interreligious dialog in contemporary Indonesia. It tries to point out how interreligious dialogue is at work in this site and how surrounding communities participate and respond to the perseverance of the site. Finally, accentuating Swidler’s theory of dialogues, this paper looks at the practice of interreligious dialogue at a touristic site and how religious harmony is negotiated by Buddhist and Muslim through the site and the construction of “the other” by both religious communities.

Abstract

Abstract. Women and narcotics form a complex interplay within society. With the escalating issue of drug circulation and abuse, family resilience emerges as a crucial pillar in addressing this matter. However, women often grapple with discrimination and social stigma. This research aims to comprehend women's roles in preventing drug abuse in Kabupaten Kediri and the values they espouse. The research employs a qualitative descriptive approach involving field research, encompassing observations, interviews, and document analysis. The concept of power within Michel Foucault's Power Relations Theory is utilized to understand women's roles. The research reveals that women's roles in family resilience encompass four main aspects: Social Power Agents, Knowledge Transfer Agents, Social Support Agents, and Social Inclusivity Agents. This study provides valuable insights for addressing the drug problem in Kabupaten Kediri through the roles of women. Abstrak. Perempuan dan narkoba memiliki hubungan yang kompleks dalam masyarakat. Dalam menghadapi peningkatan masalah narkoba, ketahanan keluarga menjadi penting. Namun, perempuan sering menghadapi diskriminasi dan stigma sosial. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami peran perempuan dalam mencegah penyalahgunaan narkoba di Kabupaten Kediri dan nilai-nilai yang mereka terapkan. Metode penelitian adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan observasi, wawancara, dan analisis dokumen. Konsep kuasa dalam Teori Relasi Kuasa Michael Foucault digunakan untuk memahami peran perempuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peran perempuan dalam ketahanan keluarga sebagai Agen Kekuatan Sosial, Agen Penyampaian Pengetahuan, Agen Dukungan Sosial, dan Agen Inklusivitas Sosial. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan untuk mengatasi masalah narkoba di Kabupaten Kediri melalui peran perempuan.

Abstract

Abstract: The characteristics of the generation are related to the side of Islamic behavior that they should adhere to. We can analyze the selection of literacy commonly used in studying Islam. However, the challenge is increasing the prevalence of various literacy that does not introduce tolerance and diversity, even leading to radicalism. Therefore, mapping the relationship between generation categories and literacy selection is used, especially in the Higher Education environment, considering its role as a center for knowledge development. Through the mixed method, this study tries to compare the use of literacy between 2 different generations, namely Millennial and Z, at UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah. The results of this study show that first, Millennials tend to use gadgets to obtain Islamic knowledge compared to Generation Z, who prefer to learn Islam face-to-face or in person. Second, Gen Z finds less radical content than millennials, who show how their interest in the issue of radicalism is lower as a form of their apathy on the issue. Third, Gen Z is more acknowledging that they know what kind of Islamic content to avoid than Gen Y, but this is just a matter of the general meaning of their version of radicalism rather than specific to characters, books, or other sources that should be avoided.Keywords: Gen Z , Islamic literacy, MillennialAbstrak: Karakteristik generasi berhubungan dengan sisi perilaku keislaman yang seharusnya mereka anut. Hal itu bisa kita analisis pemilihan literasi yang biasa dipakai dalam mempelajari Islam. Namun demikian, tantangan saat ini mengarah pada makin maraknya berbagai literasi yang tidak memperkenalkan toleransi dan keberagaman bahkan mengarah pada radikal. Oleh karena itu, pemetaan hubungan antara kategori generasi dengan pemilihan literasi yang dipakai terutama di lingkungan Perguruan Tinggi, perlu dilakukan mengingat perannya sebagai pusat berkembangan pengetahuan. Melalui metode mix method, penelitian ini mencoba untuk membandingkan penggunaan literasi yang digunakan antara 2 generasi yang berbeda yaitu Millenial dan Z, di UIN Sayyid Ali Rahmatullah sebagai salah satu PTKIN terbesar di Indonesia. Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan yaitu pertama, milenial memang cenderung suka menggunakan gadget dalam memperoleh pengetahuan keislaman dibanding generasi Z yang lebih menyukai belajar islam via tatap muka atau langsung. Kedua, Gen Z lebih jarang menemukan konten yang berbau radikal dibanding milenial dimana menunjukkan bagaimana ketertarikan mereka terhadap isu radikalisme lebih rendah sebagai wujud apatisme mereka pada isu tersebut. Ketiga, Gen Z lebih mengakui bahwa mereka tahu konten keislaman seperti apa yang harus dihindari dibanding Gen Y, akan tetapi hal ini hanya sekedar secara umum arti radikal versi mereka bukan spesifik pada tokoh, buku ataupun sumber lainnya yang seharusnya dihindari.Kata Kunci: Gen Z, Literasi keislaman, Milenial,
