Abstract

Sebagian besar plastik yang terbuang ke lingkungan akan mengakibatkan timbulan sampah plastik. Sampah plastik yang terfragmentasi menjadi berukuran <5 mm disebut mikroplastik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis sampah plastik dan kandungan mikroplastik pada air sungai di daerah Hilir Aliran Sungai Tembuku, maka dari itu perlu dilakukan identifikasi dengan metode kuantitatif. Jenis sampah plastik yang teridentifikasi dengan klasifikasi sesuai dengan ASTM International Resin Identification Coding System adalah: Polyethylene terephthalate (PET); Low density polyethylene (LDPE); Polypropylene (PP); Polystyrene (PS); dan Other (O). Kelimpahan mikroplastik ditemukan berkisar antara 590 sampai dengan 850 partikel/liter. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Polymer Risk Index (PRI) pada sampel air sungai berada pada kategori sedang dan Pollution Load Index berada pada kategori sangat tinggi. Dibutuhkan adanya pengendalian pencemaran sampah plastik ke lingkungan terutama daerah aliran sungai seperti pemilahan sampah dari rumah, penambahan tempat pembuangan sementara dan regulasi terkait penanganan maupun mitigasi masalah terkait pencemaran mikroplastik ke lingkungan

Abstract

This research aims to determine the magnitude of the CO concentration in the ambient air at the Y T-junction Simpang Rimbo, Jambi City using a CO meter. Observations were carried out for 3 days (Sunday, Monday and Tuesday). Sundays and Mondays are held at 2 different times, namely the afternoon and evening. 1 day observation on Tuesday with 4 different times, namely Morning, Afternoon, Afternoon and Night. Each observation time at 1 point is carried out for 60 minutes. The results of the 3 day study showed that the highest CO concentration occurred on Tuesday during the day, namely 279,424.4 ??/??3, the lowest CO concentration occurred on Sunday at night, amounting to 63,426.27 ??/??3. Meanwhile, observations for 1 day on Tuesday showed that the highest CO concentration occurred in the afternoon at 9.0056 ??/??3. The CO concentration was higher when measuring for 3 days, this was due to the influence of time and the reduction in vehicles passing the observation point on Tuesday 6 February 2024.

Abstract

Candi Muaro Jambi merupakan salah satu lokasi wisata destinasi yang berada di Provinsi Jambi Destinasi ini setidaknya dikunjungi 9247 orang per bulan. Efek aktivitas kunjungan ini menimbulkan permasalahan terkait samaph. Penelitian bertujuan untuk menganalisa pengelolaan sampah di kawasan Candi Muaro Jambi dengan mendasarkan pada SNI 19-3964-1994. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas kunjungan wisatwan di kawasan Candi Muaro Jambi menghasilkan sampah harian lebih dari 10 Kg dengan volume memenuhi ruang lebih dari dua ratus lima puluh liter,Komposisi sampah yang ada terdiri atas organik lebih yang lebih banyak dibandingkan anorganik. Kawasan Candi Muaro Jambi memiliki skema pengelolaan sampah dengan tahap pewadahan, pengumpulan, dan pengangkutan. Pengelolaan sampah juga membentuk sistem pengelolaan dengan paradigma baru yang melibatkan berbagai pihak seperti, pengelola situs candi, masyarakat sekitar dan instansi Dinas Lingkungan Hidup.

Abstract

Carbon dioxide (CO₂) is the main contributor to global warming and climate change. Human activities in residential areas significantly increase CO₂ emissions. Green open spaces such as urban forests play a vital role in absorbing this gas through photosynthesis. This study aims to measure the concentration of CO₂ in the areas of Muhammad Sabki Urban Forest and Grand Kenali Residential Complex, as well as to map its spatial distribution using Geographic Information System (GIS) with the Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW) interpolation method. Data collection was conducted over three days, during three time periods (morning, noon, and afternoon), at four sampling points spaced 65 meters apart. The results show a significant difference in CO₂ concentrations between the two areas, with residential zones showing higher levels than the urban forest. Spatial visualization through digital maps revealed a distribution pattern consistent with the level of human activity and vegetation cover in each area. Aktivitas manusia yang tinggi di kawasan perumahan berkontribusi besar terhadap peningkatan emisi CO₂. Ruang terbuka hijau seperti hutan kota memiliki kemampuan menyerap gas tersebut. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur konsentrasi CO₂ di kawasan Hutan Kota Muhammad Sabki dan Perumahan Grand Kenali, serta memetakan sebaran spasialnya menggunakan Sistem Informasi Geografis (SIG) dengan metode interpolasi Inverse Distance Weighting (IDW). Pengumpulan data dilakukan selama tiga hari pada tiga waktu pengamatan (pagi, siang, sore) di empat titik pengukuran dengan jarak 65 meter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan perbedaan konsentrasi CO₂ yang signifikan antara kedua kawasan, di mana kawasan perumahan memiliki konsentrasi yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan kawasan hutan kota. Visualisasi spasial melalui peta digital menunjukkan pola distribusi CO₂ yang konsisten dengan tingkat aktivitas dan tutupan vegetasi di masing-masing area. Abstract

Limbah rumah potong hewan (LRPH) mengandung senyawa organic dan anorganik yang berpotensi mencemari lingkungan, seperti COD, ammonia, minyak lemak dan pH yang tidak stabil. Satu diantara metode yang diterapkan dalam pengolahan limbah cair RPH yaitu elektrokoagulasi alumunium. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kuat arus dab waktu kontak pada proses elektorkoagulasi terhadap penurunan kadar COD, ammonia dan minyak lemak. Proses elektrokoagulasi dilakukan menggunakan elektroda aluminium dengan variasi kuat arus 10 A/m2, 20 A/m2, 30 A/m2 dengan durasi kontak yaitu 60 menit, 120 menit, dan 180 menit. Hasil penelitian membuktikan bahwa peningkatan kuat arus dan durasi kontak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap penurunan kadar COD, ammonia, dan minyak lemak serta perbaikan nilai pH. Efisiensi tertinggi dicapai pada  kuat arus 30 A/m2 dengan durasi kontak 180 menit untuk parameter COD sebesar 76,26%, ammonia sebesar 59,82%, minyak lemak sebesar 66,93%, dan nilai pH mengalami peningkatan dari 6,93 sampai 8,63. Hasil ini menujukkan bahwa elektrokoagulasi cukup efektif dalam menurunkan parameter pencemar dalam limbah cair RPH.

Abstract

The Jambi Province has smallholder plantations established on peatlands, one of which is the local Betara variety of areca palm (pinang), known for its adaptability to high peat water table (TMAT) conditions. However, drainage remains necessary to prevent waterlogging. Peat decomposition releases carbon emissions, including dissolved organic carbon (DOC) into drainage water. The IPCC emphasizes the need for scientific data on carbon loss through DOC from tropical peatlands. This study was conducted in a Betara areca palm plantation located in Catur Rahayu Village, Dendang Subdistrict, Jambi, aiming to obtain quantitative data on DOC concentration in peatland drainage. TMAT observations and water sampling were carried out in a 100x100 m plot during the rainy season, coinciding with flooding in nearby areas. The results showed that the lowest TMAT reached -50 cm, consistently recorded at 20 observation points, indicating peat vulnerability even during the rainy season. No correlation was found between peat depth and TMAT. Groundwater from the peat flowed into a nearby tertiary canal connected to a secondary canal. The average DOC concentration at TMAT monitoring points was 3.321 mg/L, and in the tertiary canal, it was 3.309 mg/L. Keywords: Carbon; DOC; Drainage; IPCC; TMAT.ABSTRAKProvinsi Jambi memiliki perkebunan rakyat di lahan gambut, salah satunya adalah kebun pinang varietas lokal Betara yang adaptif terhadap kondisi tinggi muka air tanah (TMAT) gambut. Namun, drainase tetap diperlukan untuk mencegah genangan. Dekomposisi gambut menghasilkan emisi karbon, termasuk karbon terlarut (DOC) dalam air drainase. IPCC menekankan pentingnya data saintifik terkait kehilangan karbon melalui DOC dari lahan gambut tropis.Penelitian ini dilakukan di kebun pinang Desa Catur Rahayu, Kecamatan Dendang, Jambi, dengan tujuan memperoleh data kuantitatif konsentrasi DOC dari drainase gambut. Pengamatan TMAT dan pengambilan sampel air dilakukan di plot 100x100 m selama musim hujan, saat terjadi banjir di sekitar lokasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan TMAT terendah -50 cm, seragam di 20 titik pengamatan, menunjukkan kerentanan gambut meskipun saat musim hujan. Tidak ditemukan hubungan antara kedalaman gambut dan TMAT. Air tanah dari gambut mengalir ke kanal tersier terdekat yang terhubung ke kanal sekunder. Rata-rata konsentrasi DOC di titik TMAT adalah 3,321 mg/L dan di kanal tersier 3,309 mg/L.Kata kunci : Carbon; DOC; Drainase; IPCC; TMAT.

Abstract

Banana stems have the potential to be used as filter media in the laundry wastewater treatment process. Laundry wastewater will contain hazardous substances that have the potential to pollute the environment if it is not treated adequately before disposal. Considering the fact that banana stems have a high hygroscopic capacity and cellulose content which is capable of absorbing inorganic chemicals, the use of banana stems as a filter media is considered a realistic option. The research method used is the filtration reactor method, and there are differences in the amount of time invested and the thickness of the banana stem, which can range from 20 to 40 centimeters. There were differences in the decrease in the parameter values of pH, COD, TSS, phosphate, and MBAS with variations in the thickness of the banana stem media. The largest decrease in pH observed occurred at a media thickness of 40 centimeters. Based on the research results, it was found that there was variation in the extent to which parameters were reduced overall. A one-day soak is the most effective way to reduce the severity of these properties. In addition, research findings show that banana stems are not effective enough in processing laundry wastewater.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility of producing environmentally friendly briquettes using organic waste and coconut shells as the main ingredients. 3 (three) briquette compositions, including: (1) 25% organic waste, equivalent to 75% coconut shell; (2) 75% organic waste, 25 percent coconut shell; and (3) 50% organic waste, 50 percent coconut shells. The research method used to analyze the water content, ash content and heating value of briquettes is a quantitative research method. The results of this research show that organic waste and coconut shells can be converted into environmentally friendly briquettes. Briquettes with a mixture composition of 75%:25% have a reduced ash percentage. Meanwhile, mixed briquettes containing 25%:75% have a low water content, meaning more coconut shell, the lower the water content and the better the properties of the briquettes.
