Abstract

Changing work models due to the COVID-19 pandemic have accelerated the adoption of hybrid work systems in Southeast Asia. While this model offers flexibility, major challenges arise in maintaining work-family life balance for employees, as well as managing productivity and well-being in diverse cultural contexts. This study aims to identify the challenges faced by HR managers in managing hybrid work systems in Southeast Asia, and evaluate their impact on employees' work-family life balance. This study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory design. Data was collected through a survey of 300 employees working in hybrid work models in six Southeast Asian countries and in-depth interviews with HR managers. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive and regression analysis. The findings show that HR managers in countries with better infrastructure, such as Singapore, are better able to manage the challenges of hybrid working. Countries such as the Philippines and Vietnam face more difficulties related to technological infrastructure and policies that are less supportive of work-life balance. The research suggests that HR managers adopt more flexible policies, improve training for HR managers, and provide technology that supports remote working. Policies tailored to local needs and attention to employee well-being are key to the success of hybrid working models in Southeast Asia.

Abstract

Abstract

Digital transformation in the agricultural sector is an important agenda in increasing the productivity and efficiency of farming, especially in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of digital training programs organized for farmers in increasing the adoption of modern agricultural technology. The method used is a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, direct observations, and distributing questionnaires to 20 farmers who participated in the digital training program in Banyumas Regency, Central Java. The results showed that digital training had a positive impact on improving digital literacy, confidence, and technology adoption behaviors, such as the use of weather applications, digital record keeping, and online farm marketing platforms. Findings also showed that technology adoption tended to be higher among farmers who received post-training assistance. However, challenges such as device limitations, networks, and technological complexity remain as barriers. This research suggests that digital training programs should be designed in a contextual and sustainable manner so that digital agricultural transformation can be implemented effectively and inclusively.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technologies presents a significant opportunity for improving agricultural practices, particularly in resource-limited zones. Augmented Reality (AR) offers farmers an innovative real-time soil health assessment solution, enabling them to make informed decisions about irrigation, fertilization, and crop management. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of an AR-based soil health assessment tool tailored for smallholder farmers. A qualitative research approach was employed, using in-depth interviews and field observations with 20 farmers from rural agricultural areas. The tool provided real-time data on critical soil parameters, including moisture, nutrient levels, and pH balance. Results indicate that the AR tool significantly improved farmers’ ability to manage soil health, leading to more efficient water usage and optimized fertilizer application. However, challenges such as internet connectivity and digital literacy barriers were observed. Overall, the tool was found to be a valuable asset in promoting sustainable farming practices in low-resource areas. Future research should explore offline functionalities and broader applications of AR technology in agriculture.
