Abstract

The workload experienced by nurses in the inpatient room needs to be known so, the hospital management can determine the quality and quantity needs. Therefore, there is no excessive workload and will eventually result in work stress. If job stress is not handled, it will affect physical, psychological, and emotional health so that it can affect the caring behavior of nurses. This study aims to determine whether there is a significant relationship between workload and work stress with nurse caring behavior. This study used a correlation design with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 63 nurses and 126 patients was selected using a simple random sampling technique. The data was collected through a questionnaire. The results of the univariate analysis showed that the average value of caring behavior was 73.47 (SD = 9.004), workload 33.60 (SD = 2.797) and work stress 28.87 (SD = 6.399). Bivariate analysis using the Pearson correlation test. The test results showed that there was no significant relationship between workload and nurse caring behavior (p = 0.067, more than 0.005). Then, there is no significant relationship between work stress and caring behavior (p = 0.545 more than 0.005). The efforts are needed to improve caring behavior through in-house training which includes soft skills and hard skills training.

Abstract

Background: Low back pain (LBP) is one of the most common musculoskeletal complaints encountered in healthcare settings, thus requiring accurate diagnostic management to support clinical diagnosis. Radiographic examination of the lumbosacral vertebrae in the erect position is one of the essential procedures in evaluating this condition. Purpose: This study aims to determine the implementation of lumbosacral vertebrae radiographic examinations in patients with LBP at the Radiology Department of Majalengka Regional General Hospital (RSUD Majalengka), starting from data verification to the interpretation of results by a radiology specialist. Method: This study employed a descriptive method with an observational approach to the radiographic procedure using anteroposterior (AP) and lateral projections. Results: The findings indicate that the implementation of the examination was carried out properly, as evidenced by the appropriate patient positioning, adequate radiation protection, and radiographic images that met diagnostic quality criteria. Interpretation by the radiology specialist confirmed that the images produced were suitable for establishing a diagnosis of low back pain.

Abstract

Attitude is one of the domains in the competence of nurses. Attitudes are formed through internalizing learning experiences related to how students feel when they learn. Affective Learning refers to learning that enriches emotions, belief systems, and professional values. In nursing education, the attitude aspect is often the goal of learning but is not followed by learning strategies and evaluations to achieve these learning goals. The research aims to identify effective learning strategies and measure tools used to identify changes from the affective skills or affective aspect studied. A systematic review using electronic literature databases published from year 2012 until 2022. Scopus Search, Clinical Key Nursing, ProQuest, Ebscohost, SAGE Journals, and Science Direct. The research design criteria are randomized control trials and quasi-experimental studies. Eligibility assessment by conducting a critical appraisal using tools from the Joanna Briggs Institute critical appraisal. 15 articles met the criteria, consisting of five Randomized Control Trial research articles, and 10 Quasi-experimental articles. The results of a systematic review show that Simulations using standardized patients and reflective practice are learning methods that are often used. Empathy is the most researched affective aspect followed by communication, self-efficacy, and self-confidence. Empathy as the most affective aspect studied was measured using The Jefferson Empathy Scale. Learning interventions aimed to improve an affective aspect of nursing students are not single, but integrate various learning methods. This is also influenced by the affective aspect developed in learning, which is not a single aspect, and uses several measuring tools to assess its development.

Abstract

Problems often experienced by Chronic Kidney Failure patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy are related to excess fluid intake in the body. Patients with chronic renal failure who do not comply with fluid intake restrictions will experience fluid accumulation, causing pulmonary edema and left ventricular hypertrophy. The buildup of fluid in the body causes the heart and lungs to function hard, resulting in patients becoming tired and short of breath. while intake that is too low results in dehydration, hypotension, and impaired kidney function. Failed Diseases. Monitoring fluid intake and output in patients has proven to be effective in dealing with excess fluid volume. It is hoped that using non-pharmacological therapy is one method for patients with chronic kidney failure with fluid balance and electrolytes in fluid management interventions. The research results were obtained after fluid management was carried out to reduce fluid and electrolyte balance in patients with chronic renal failure, blood pressure improved, edema was reduced, skin turgor was good, there were no additional breath sounds, patients were able to understand the importance of limiting fluid and sodium intake. , and be able to measure and record food intake and urine output independently.
