Abstract

Background: The peripheral neuropathy is the cause of hospitalization for patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and damages kidney function due to the circulatory system with high sugar levels. High sugar levels in DM patients with diabetic wounds can trigger glomerular damage resulting in the decrease of kidney function.Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the degree of diabetic wounds and kidney functions in patients with DM.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 723 DM patients who experienced diabetic wounds in a hospital in Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia. A purposive sampling technique was used to recruit the samples. The data of this study were medical records of diabetic patients. A simple linear regression test was employed to analyze the data. Results: The result showed that the degree of diabetic wound was significantly related to kidney function damage (p=0.000). The relationship between the degree of diabetic wounds and the decline in kidney function was shown by an R-squared value of 0.768, meaning that the degree of diabetic wound affected the decline of kidney function by 76.8%, while the 23.2% was affected by other factors. Conclusion:The degree of diabetic injury affects the decline of kidney function in DM patients by 76.8%. Nurses should do health promotion about controlling blood sugar levels in DM patients with the prevention of four pillars of diabetes, including education, nutrition, physical activity, and stress.

Abstract

Background: The hospital is a health service organization that provides comprehensive health services that achieve promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative aspects for the community. The application of the Professional Nursing Practice Method (MPKP) can illustrate the efforts of various countries to improve the quality of nursing care and the working environment of nurses in hospitals.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the application of MPKP in hospitals. Methods: This research design uses a literature review, which is a series of studies relating to the method of collecting library data, or research whose research objects are explored through various library information (books, encyclopedias, scientific journals, newspapers, magazines, and documents) from several journals that have been researched by previous researchers who have been screened with inclusion and exclusion criteria using several databases namely google shoolar, lib UI, and SINTA which will be used as a literature review in this study. There are 155 journals according to keywords which are screened into 10 journals according to the theme and analyzed which examines the application of the Professional Nursing Practice Method (MPKP).  Results: The results showed that the implementation of MPKP was in the good category and was more dominant, namely 40% in the nursing care system. In the application of the maximum Professional Nursing Practice Method (MPKP) and good categories, nurses have to make professional values, professional relationships, management approaches, nursing care systems, and reward compensation systems according to nursing standards by looking at performance and determining the appropriate MPKP model.  Conclusion: The better the implementation of the Professional Nursing Practice Method (MPKP) is carried out, the better the services provided by the hospital to patients

Abstract

The goal of this study is to determine whether or not the paragraph-shrinking strategy significantly affected students' reading comprehension. This study used an experimental design with a posttest-only control group. The control class received treatment using the usual technique, while the experimental class received treatment using the paragraph shrinking strategy. This study used a multiple-choice reading test as its instrument. This instrument was valid because it was based on the syllabus and had subject validity that had been taught in the past. Because the writer had tested the instrument and divided the reliability in half, it was then reliable. After that, the writer utilized Gay's suggested t-test procedure to examine the data and determine whether the hypothesis was correct.

Abstract

According to the World Health Organization, coronary heart disease, including STEMI and NSTEMI, is the leading cause of noncommunicable disease-related mortality worldwide. First treatment for STEMI-NSTEMI patients was reperfusion with Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Anxiety increases the difficulty of controlling cardiac disease in patients with a diagnosis of STEMI and NSTEMI who will undergo PCI surgery. This study employs a cross-sectional correlation analysis methodology. Patients with coronary heart disease diagnosed with STEMI and NSTEMI who are receiving treatment at Bangil Hospital constituted the population. Forty respondents were selected using a technique called purposive sampling. Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) is the independent variable. While apprehension levels are the dependent variable. At a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.05, Ho was rejected and H1 was accepted, indicating that there was a correlation between preparation for surgery (Giving Informed Consent) Percutaneous Coronary Intervention and anxiety levels in STEMI - NSTEMI patients at Bangil Hospital. Consent was obtained prior to the decision to perform PCI. If the patient agrees to informed consent, the procedure will continue; if the patient refuses, the procedure will not be performed. The conclusion of this study is that Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI) procedures are associated with a lower level of anxiety the better the preparation for surgery (providing informed consent) is.

Abstract

Problems The government's present approach to the challenges the DHF disease faces in Indonesia is insufficient. Though, in order to regulate the DHF condition, public support is essential. The fact that the general public does not participate in Mosquito Nest Eradication (PSN) initiatives shows how poorly understood and known DHF illness prevention is by the general population. Examine the impact of health education on the community's awareness of DHF prevention. Pretest-posttest design with a single group, pre-experimental investigation. The population of Village Sumberwuluh Subdistrict Dawarblandong Regency Mojokerto, which consists of 289 homes and is entirely under inquiry, was represented by one responder who was between the ages of 18 and 35 in each of the 289 households. This is a simple random sampling technique. 44 people comprise the huge sample. questionnaire-based instrument study using SAP. The results showed that 32 respondents (72.7%) had sufficient knowledge of DHF prevention before obtaining health education, and 23 respondents (52.3%), after getting health education, had sufficient knowledge of DHF prevention. Based on the Wilcoxon Signed Rank statistical test results, H1 is accepted and H0 is denied, which indicates that health education has an impact on community understanding on DHF prevention. When more data is acquired and health education is observed, a better understanding of DHF prevention is attained.

Abstract

Chemotherapy induces pain in individuals with cancer, leading to various physical consequences such as fatigue, reduced appetite, vomiting, and compromised muscle strength. As a consequence of this effect, activities of daily living (ADL) are disrupted. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between pain intensity and capacity to perform activities of daily living (ADL) among chemotherapy patients in the Bangil Pasuruan Regional Hospital's Chemotherapy Room. This study employs a correlational design and a cross-sectional methodology. All 31 chemotherapy patients in the Chemotherapy Room at Bangil Pasuruan Regional Hospital comprised the population of this investigation. Utilizing consecutive sampling, a sample of twenty-three individuals was collected between April 15 and May 15, 2023. The investigation utilized the Barthel index and numeric pain scale as its instruments. For data analysis, the Spearman Rho Test was utilized. 18 respondents (78.3%) reported experiencing moderate discomfort, and the majority of respondents (15 respondents, or 65.2%) reported having mild ADL abilities, according to the findings of the study. The Spearman test yielded a p-value of 0.0 and a correlation coefficient of 0.722; therefore, H 1 is accepted. This indicates that there is a significant relationship between the intensity of pain and the ability of chemotherapy patients to perform activities of daily living (ADL) in the Chemotherapy Room at Bangil Pasuruan Regional Hospital. Specifically, as the intensity of the pain increases, so does the degree of dependence of the patients on ADL. A decrease in muscle strength brought on by pain diminishes the ability to perform ADLs. It is the responsibility of hospital nurses to assist chemotherapy patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and to instruct them in non-pharmaceutical relaxation and distraction techniques to alleviate discomfort.
