Abstract

Background: The peripheral neuropathy is the cause of hospitalization for patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) and damages kidney function due to the circulatory system with high sugar levels. High sugar levels in DM patients with diabetic wounds can trigger glomerular damage resulting in the decrease of kidney function.Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between the degree of diabetic wounds and kidney functions in patients with DM.Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 723 DM patients who experienced diabetic wounds in a hospital in Mojokerto, East Java, Indonesia. A purposive sampling technique was used to recruit the samples. The data of this study were medical records of diabetic patients. A simple linear regression test was employed to analyze the data.Results: The result showed that the degree of diabetic wound was significantly related to kidney function damage (p=0.000). The relationship between the degree of diabetic wounds and the decline in kidney function was shown by an R-squared value of 0.768, meaning that the degree of diabetic wound affected the decline of kidney function by 76.8%, while the 23.2% was affected by other factors.Conclusion:The degree of diabetic injury affects the decline of kidney function in DM patients by 76.8%. Nurses should do health promotion about controlling blood sugar levels in DM patients with the prevention of four pillars of diabetes, including education, nutrition, physical activity, and stress.

Abstract

Program studi Biologi UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya telah memberlakukan pembelajaran daring pada Semester Genap Tahun Akademik 2019/2020 sebagai upaya memastikan perkuliahan tetap berjalan di masa pandemi COVID-19. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis proses dan kendala pembelajaran biologi di masa pandemi COVID-19 berdasarkan respon mahasiswa Jenis Penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif, Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan membagikan Google form yang berisi 11 pertayaan kepada 82 orang mahasiswa angakatan 2017, 2018, dan 2019. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa proses perkuliahan daring di Prodi Biologi UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya berjalan cukup baik. Beberapa kendala diantaranya banyak menghabiskan kuota serta jaringan internet lemah. Proses perkuliahan masih perlu untuk terus dioptimalkan dan perlu untuk dilakukan evaluasi demi perbaikan perkuliahan daring pada periode berikutnya.The Biology Learning Processes and Constraints in the Covid-19 Pandemic Period: Analysis of Student ResponsesAbstractThe Biology Study Program of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya has implemented online learning in the Even Semester, Academic Year 2019/2020 as an effort to ensure lectures continue during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study aimed to analyze the processes and constraints of biology learning in the COVID-19 pandemic based on student responses. This research type was qualitative descriptive, data collection was done by distributing Google form containing 11 questions to 82 students 2017, 2018, and 2019. The results of this study indicate that the online lecture process at Biology Study Program of UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya was going pretty well. Some obstacles include spending a lot of quota and a weak internet network. The lecture process still needs to be continuously optimized and evaluation needs to be done to improve online lectures in the next period.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by increased blood sugar levels due to insulin resistance caused by the uncontrolled expression of the protein tyrosine phosphatase 1B (PTP1B). Several compounds that inhibit PTP1B have been studied, including polyphenol. Many studies have been conducted on diabetes medicines based on natural ingredients, including the pomegranate fruits (Punica granatum L). This study aims to test the inhibitory activity of polyphenolic compounds in pomegranate peel (gallic acid, caffeic acid, ellagic acid, chlorogenic acid, apigenin, quercetin, pelargonidin, and cyanidin) against PTP1B through molecular docking. The 3D structures of polyphenolic compounds were obtained from the PubChem database, while PTP1B was from the Protein Data Base. Molecular docking simulations were carried out using AutoDock Vina and several supporting softwares, such as Biovia Discovery Studio Client 4.1, AutoDockTools 1.5.6, PyMOL, and LigPlot. Molecular docking results showed that polyphenolic compounds from pomegranate peel have good inhibitory potential against PTP1B. It is proven by the binding affinity value for PTP1B, which is low and negative, namely in the range -6.4 to -8.4 kcal/mol, and the inhibition constant in the range 0.69 to 20,12 µM. The presence of phenol and carboxylic acid groups in polyphenol compounds can strengthen ligand-protein complexes through hydrogen bonds, especially with the amino acid residues Gln221 and Cys215. The potential of polyphenolic compounds as antidiabetics is also supported by van der Waals interactions and π-π stacking interactions with PTP1B. Based on the molecular docking test that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the polyphenolic compounds in pomegranate peel have the potential to act as type 2 anti-diabetes mellitus.

Abstract

Kemampuan berpikir kreatif merupakan salah satu kompetensi penting yang harus dimiliki oleh siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan abad ke-21. Dalam pembelajaran sains, terutama pada materi Bumi dan Tata Surya, kemampuan ini dapat dikembangkan melalui pendekatan pembelajaran yang inovatif dan kontekstual. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi Bumi dan Tata Surya. Berpikir kreatif merupakan salah satu kemampuan penting dalam pembelajaran abad ke-21, yang meliputi aspek fluency (kelancaran), flexibility (keluwesan), originality (keunikan), dan elaboration (perincian). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yakni metode penelitian experiment serta desain penelitian pre-experimental design bentuk one-group pretest-posttest design. Digunakan populasi yang berasal dari siswa kelas VIII dan sampel penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII berjumlah 30 siswa. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa tingkat menengah yang telah mempelajari materi Bumi dan Tata Surya. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes kemampuan berpikir kreatif, wawancara, dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa pada materi Bumi dan Tata Surya masih bervariasi, dengan dominasi pada aspek kelancaran dan keluwesan, sedangkan aspek keunikan dan perincian memerlukan pengembangan lebih lanjut. Faktor-faktor yang memengaruhi kemampuan berpikir kreatif meliputi pemahaman konsep, motivasi belajar, dan strategi pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru. Rekomendasi penelitian ini adalah penerapan pendekatan pembelajaran inovatif, seperti pembelajaran berbasis proyek dan pendekatan inkuiri, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa secara menyeluruh.

Abstract

Integration of knowledge is an interesting phenomenon that has emerged amidst the rapid changes in Islamic religious higher education institutions in Indonesia, which have changed from a State Islamic Religious Institution to a State Islamic University (Universitas Islam Negeri/UIN). The implementation of the integration of knowledge at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya refers to the integrated twin-tower model. This study aims to describe the integration of knowledge based on outputs with the integrated twin tower paradigm in journal review lectures. This type of research is qualitative descriptive with the research location of the Science Education Study Program, FTK UINSA, in journal review lectures running in the even semester of the 2022/2023 academic year. Data was collected using documentation, field notes, and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques were carried out using data triangulation techniques, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion. The study results showed that lecture planning was carried out well in the semester learning design. Integrating knowledge based on outputs with the integrated twin tower paradigm in journal review lectures went well according to the achievement objectives in the semester learning plan and produced outputs in draft articles. The student’s response to the lectures was positive, resulting in accurate understanding from the students regarding the topics of scientific articles and journals. The lectures had some obstacles but also produced many benefits.

Abstract

Normative behavior is a behavior that is in accordance with the norms that surround them. Normative behavior is often interpreted as ethics, where an ethic is often also associated with morals. This article aims to outline the devotion of the importance of parenting to parents so that children's behavior does not deviate from existing morals and norms. Community service "The Importance of Parenting for a Generation of Well-mannered Children: Empowering Parents Through Parenting Socialization" is done through socialization. Based on the results of interviews with parents of students, several results were obtained after participating in socialization activities and applying techniques regarding behavior modification that had been taught, where there were positive changes in children's behavior. Through an effective parenting program, it can significantly change how children behave in accordance with the norms. Based on the discussion above, it can be concluded that in the service program that has been carried out regarding parenting programs has had a positive impact on parents where they better understand the importance of effective parenting in supporting normative behavior in children, so that children behave in accordance with existing norms such as not disobeying parental rules, being more manageable, and not saying harsh words.

Abstract

Berpikir kreatif sangat dibutuhkan dalam pendidikan di Era Society 5.0. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peran penting berfikir kreatif dalam kemajuan pendidikan di Era Society 5.0. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah studi literature dari berbagai sumber termasuk buku, jurnal dan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini mengindikasikan peranan berpikir kreatif sangat penting sebagai upaya pengembangan pendidikan di era society 5.0. Strategi penelitian ini memanfaatkan berpikir kreatif dengan menggunakan model maupun media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi. Salah satu tantangan di era society 5.0 adalah mendorong peserta didik untuk memanfaatkan teknologi secara optimal melalui pembelajaran yang dapat mengasah keterampilan berpikir kreatif, sehingga mereka dapat mempersiapkan perubahan global yang kompleks.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa kelas VII SMP pada pembelajaran IPA, khususnya pada materi zat dan perubahannya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif dengan responden sebanyak 28 siswa kelas VII I SMP Negeri 3 Waru tahun ajaran 2024/2025. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes uraian dengan lima soal yang dirancang sesuai empat indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif: kelancaran, keluwesan, keaslian, dan kerincian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa sebesar 36,32, yang termasuk dalam kategori "kurang." Sebanyak 93% siswa memperoleh skor di bawah 60, menandakan bahwa mayoritas siswa memiliki kemampuan berpikir kreatif yang rendah. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pengembangan pembelajaran berbasis kreativitas untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa, yang berperan penting dalam menghasilkan ide-ide baru dan pemecahan masalah.
