Abstract

This research aims to describe the English language learning process using Individual Education Program (IEP) in inclusion classes at elementary school level. This research used a qualitative approach with two students with special needs with intellectual disabilities (ID) as the subjects of this research. Three types of data collection techniques used were structured observation, structured interviews and document study. The result of this research indicated that even though the two research subjects have intellectual disability, they can still participate in learning with certain terms and conditions. Every class teacher and special assistant teacher must pay attention to students’ learning needs that supports their learning development which must be in accordance with curriculum objectives. Therefore, teachers must be able to develop the Individualized Education Program (IEP) according to the special needs of students and carry out teaching according to plans that have been made previously. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between reading habits and the ability to write descriptive essays of grade IV students. This type of research is descriptive quantitative where the results of this study can describe the results of the relationship between reading habits and the ability to write description essays. The data collection techniques used are questionnaires and tests. This research was analyzed using SPSS 25.0. The results of the study The level of reading habits is moderate, students in the moderate category are in the interval 60-84 with a total of 22 students, the level of ability to write descriptive essays is moderate, students in the moderate category are in the interval 60-84 with a total of 20 students, there is a significant relationship between reading habits and the ability to write student descriptive essays. The relationship is shown by the correlation coefficient (tcount) of 6.550 greater than the t table 1.697 at a significance level of 5% sig value of 0.000 <0.05 which means Ho is rejected and H1 is accepted.   Keywords: description essay, reading habits, writing skill

Abstract

Competency standards for graduates at the Basic Education Level Education Unit are focused on: preparing students to become members of society who believe and are devoted to God Almighty and have noble character, cultivating character in accordance with Pancasila values, and growing students' literacy and numeracy competencies to pursue further education. Strengthening Character Education in elementary schools is optimized through programs organized through intracurricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities. Character formation through extracurricular activities aims to strengthen the formation of students' personalities. The definition of extracurricular according to (Astitah, 2020) is that extracurricular activities are additional activities outside of class hours, whether carried out outside of school or at school, which have a vision to develop potential, talents and interests optimally, as well as grow independence, enrich and broaden knowledge horizons. and the abilities they have and can shape students' personalities or selves well. Through extracurricular activities, students can be polite in their daily lives and disciplined in implementing Islamic law.

Abstract

Early reading ability is a crucial foundation for first grade students as they move forward in their learning journey. In today’s fast-growing digital world, many educational applications are designed to make learning more attractive and interactive, one of which is Marbel Membaca. This study aimed to investigate how effectively the application supports the improvement of students’ early reading skills. The research was carried out at SDN Gandasari 3, Tangerang City, using a quantitative approach with a One-Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The participants consisted of 31 first grade students. Data were collected through reading performance tests, interviews, and documentation, and further analyzed with SPSS version 25. The findings revealed a significance value of 0.000 < 0.05, confirming a strong influence of the treatment. Beyond statistical significance, the contribution of Marbel Membaca reached 89.4% in improving students’ early reading ability. This result highlights that digital learning applications are more than supplementary tools; they can be effective strategies to cultivate interest, strengthen literacy foundations, and encourage reading habits from an early stage of education
