Abstract

TB cases in East Java in 2023 increased. In the Wagir Health Centre area in September 2023 there were 66 cases from July to September 2023, where 2% of TB patients were found to be non-compliant with taking medication, there was still low awareness of family members of patients to conduct sputum examination to the health centre independently. In addition, not all cadres understand how TB is transmitted, and nutrition for TB patients. To overcome this, a community service activity ‘Improving Primary Health Care as an Effort to Control TB in the Wagir Health Centre Working Area’ was carried out. The purpose of this activity is to increase the role of Puskesmas in TB control efforts. The method of community service is by implementing a programme of supervision of taking medication for TB patients, contact investigation and health education activities for cadres. Activities were carried out by a team from the Faculty of Health Sciences, Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University Malang, the nurse in charge of the Wagir Health Centre Area TB control programme, and cadres. Activities were carried out from February to March 2024 in the Wagir Health Centre Working Area, Malang Regency. The results of the implementation of the drug compliance monitoring programme for 10 TB patients, contact investigations for 45 people in contact with patients, and health education for 35 cadres. It is hoped that monitoring and evaluation of the programme from the Puskesmas is needed periodically, to optimise the TB control programme in the Wagir Health Centre Area.

Abstract

Promotional and preventive efforts are very important in combating non-communicable diseases (NCDs), including through the use of traditional medicines. Given the public's limited knowledge about the safe and effective use of natural ingredients, it is essential to raise awareness about the types, processing, and proper consumption of medicinal plants. Community health workers, as the frontline of primary health care, play a particularly important role in disseminating this information. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of applying an integrative empowerment model on the ability of community health workers to control NCDs with an herbal-based local wisdom approach. The research method used was a pre-experimental experiment with one group pretest-posttest design. Researchers applied an empowerment model with a meeting duration of 200 minutes. The sample of this study consisted of 57 community health workers in the Wagir community health center, using consecutive sampling techniques. The results showed a significant effect of applying the integrative empowerment model on the knowledge and skills of community health workers in controlling NCDs with an herbal-based local wisdom approach in the Wagir community health center with a p value (0.001) with a difference in the mean knowledge and skills of 15,228 and 46,632, respectively. This study concluded that there was a significant effect of applying the integrative empowerment model on the knowledge and skills of community health workers in controlling NCDs with an herbal-based local wisdom approach.

Abstract

The quality of nursing care is one of the factors that influence the image of a hospital in the community. Nursing care begins as soon as a patient is admitted to the hospital. The admission of new patients involves receiving new patients and their families at the nursing care unit. The objective of this community service activity is to optimise the implementation of new patient orientation in the ward, with a programme that is carried out in accordance with the root causes of the existing problems. This activity was carried out by lecturers and students from the Nursing Professional Education Programme, Faculty of Health Sciences, Tribhuwana Tunggadewi University, Malang. The community service activity was conducted at Hospital X in Blitar, East Java. The steps in this community service activity are as follows: Identifying issues and needs of the partner through Focus Group Discussions (FGD), implementing and evaluating the programme according to the partner's needs. The outcomes of this community service activity include the development of a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for New Patient Admission, the implementation of SOP socialisation, and the implementation of the new patient admission process in accordance with procedures. Evaluation results showed an average increase of 36% in the implementation of the new patient admission process before and after SOP socialisation. Recommendations for the future include proposing the SOP to the hospital authorities and using media such as booklets or videos for new patient admission, as well as the need for continuous monitoring and evaluation to assess its effectiveness.

Abstract

Keluarnya darah pada wanita usia subur (haid) merupakan proses yang alami, terjadi karena keluarnya sel telur yang tidak dibuahi oleh sel sperma pada masa subur. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat efektivitas pemberian jahe dan kunyit dalam menurunkan dismenore pada remaja (siswi) di SMPK Eleos Wagir. Desain yang di gunakan adalah pra-eksperimental dengan one-grup pre post test design. Teknik sampling adalah  purposive sampling dengan responden berjumlah 21 orang. Instrumen penelitian menggunakan lembar observasi untuk variabel pemberian jahe dan kunyit, dan Numeric Rating Scale (NRS) untuk pengukuran dismenore, selain itu tensi digital dan oksimetri. Analisa data menggunakan uji paired t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan skala nyeri pada dismenorea primer sebesar 3,73 (sebelum pemberian air jahe dan kunyit) dan didapatkan skala nyeri  sebesar 2,25 ( setelah pemberian air jahe dan kunyit). Ada perbedaan skala dismenore sebelum dan sesudah pemberian air jahe dan kunyit yaitu dengan selisih 1,48 dan nilai p value sebesar 0,000. Terapi non-farmakologi melalui konsumsi air jahe dan kunyit dapat di gunakan untuk menurunkan dismenore bagi masyarakat secara luas. Hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai referensi selanjutnya untuk pengembangan herbal yang lebih luas di kalangan masyarakat

Abstract

Perawat sebagai salah satu profesi yang berperan penting dalam memberikan pelayanan kesehatan, perawat memiliki banyak tugas yang harus dilaksanakan yakni pelaksanaan asuhan keperawatan, hal ini akan mempengaruhi kehidupan kerjan yang berdampak pada bunout. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan kualitas kehidupan kerja perawat dengan sindrom burnout pada perawat di Rumah Sakit Islam Gondanglegi. Desain penelitian mengunakan cross sectional. Populasi penelitian ini sebanyak 77 perawat dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 65 perawat. Sampel diambil dengan teknik purposive sampling. Variabel independen adalah kualitas kehidupan kerja, variabel dependen adalah sindrom bornout. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar kuesioner QWNL dan lembar kuesioner Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI). Hasil uji etik pada penelitian ini didapatkan layak etik. Analisis data menggunakan uji spearman rank. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar perawat di Rumah Sakit Islam Gondanglegi memiliki kualitas kehidupan kerja pada kategori cukup (63,1%). Sebagian besar perawat di Rumah Sakit Islam Gondanglegi memiliki sindrom burnout pada kategori sedang (56,9%). Ada hubungan kualitas kehidupan kerja perawat dengan sindrom burnout pada perawat di Rumah Sakit Islam Gondanglegi yang lemah dengan nilai p = (0,021) < (0,05) dan r (0,285). Penelitian selanjutnya dapat mempertimbangkan untuk meneliti faktor yang mempengaruhi variabel kualitas kehidupan kerja dan variabel burnout yakni beban kerja dan dukungan sosial. dengan memantau langsung responden dalam pengisian kuesioner..

Abstract

Background: Occupational stress is a common problem faced by nurses and can affect the quality of care, mental health, and work productivity. Purpose: To analyze factors correlated with occupational stress in nurses in the inpatient ward. Method: This study used a cross-sectional design and involved 84 nurses randomly selected from a total population of 118 nurses in the Inpatient Unit of Panti Waluyo Sawahan Regional Hospital. The instruments used were a questionnaire measuring respondent characteristics, the ISEL-12 social support questionnaire, and the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS) questionnaire measuring occupational stress. Results: Correlation tests showed no correlation between age (p=0.626), education level (p=0.244), and length of service (p=0.229) and nurses' occupational stress. However, there was a significant correlation between social support and nurses' stress (p<0.001; r=–0.449). The better the social support, the lower the level of occupational stress. Conclusion: There was no correlation between age, education level, and length of service with stress experienced by nurses in inpatient wards. However, there was a significant correlation between social support and the level of work stress experienced by nurses in inpatient wards. The better the social support provided, the lower the level of work stress experienced. Suggestion: Future research can examine other factors that may be associated with nurses' work stress, such as nurse workload, type of service, and workplace. Furthermore, hospital management is expected to implement interventions focused on improving nurses' well-being through emotional support, such as providing counseling services, sharing forums, and maintaining workload balance to address nurses' work stress.   Keywords: Inpatient Wards; Nurses; Work Stress.   Pendahuluan: Stres akibat pekerjaan adalah masalah yang sering dihadapi oleh perawat dan dapat memengaruhi mutu pelayanan, kesehatan mental, serta produktivitas kerja. Tujuan: Untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang berkorelasi dengan stres kerja perawat di ruang rawat inap. Metode: Studi ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dan melibatkan 84 perawat yang dipilih secara acak dari total populasi sebanyak 118 perawat di unit Rawat Inap Rumah Sakit Panti Waluyo Sawahan. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner yang mengukur karakteristik responden, kuesioner dukungan sosial ISEL-12, dan kuesioner yang mengukur stres kerja yaitu Perceived Stress Scale (PSS). Hasil: Uji korelasi menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada korelasi antara usia (p=0.626), tingkat pendidikan  (p=0.244), dan masa kerja (p=0.229) dengan stres kerja perawat. Namun, terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan stres yang dialami oleh perawat (p<0.001; r=–0.449), semakin baik dukungan sosial, maka semakin rendah tingkat stres kerja. Simpulan:  Tidak ada korelasi antara usia, tingkat pendidikan, dan masa kerja dengan stres yang dialami oleh perawat di ruang rawat inap. Namun, terdapat korelasi yang signifikan antara dukungan sosial dan tingkat stres kerja perawat di ruang rawat inap. Semakin baik dukungan sosial yang diberikan, maka semakin rendah pula tingkat stres kerja yang dialami. Saran:  Penelitian selanjutnya dapat meneliti faktor lain yang mungkin berhubungan dengan stres kerja perawat, seperti beban kerja perawat, jenis pelayanan, dan tempat bekerja. Selain itu, diharapkan pihak menejemen rumah sakit dapat melakukan intervensi yang berfokus pada peningkatan kesejahteraan perawat melalui dukungan emosional, misalnya menyediakan layanan konseling, forum sharing, dan untuk menjaga keseimbangan beban kerja untuk mengatasi stres kerja perawat.   Kata Kunci: Perawat; Ruang Rawat Inap; Stres Kerja.
