Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of delivery delays, order inaccuracies, and courier capacity limitations on the distribution performance of online food delivery (OFD) services in Jambi City from a customer perspective. This study used a quantitative approach with 100 respondents who had used OFD services more than twice. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS. The results showed that all three independent variables simultaneously had a significant effect on distribution performance. Partially, the variables of order inaccuracies and courier capacity limitations had a positive and significant effect on distribution performance, while delivery delays had no significant effect. The Adjusted R Square value of 39.4% indicates that the model is able to explain variations in distribution performance quite well. These findings indicate that the effectiveness of the courier operational system and the accuracy of order processing play an important role in improving the efficiency of the OFD supply chain in medium-sized urban areas such as Jambi. The results of this study are expected to provide a strategic basis for service providers in improving delivery systems and logistics capacity management.

Abstract

This research explores the use of oil palm empty fruit bunch waste fibers as an environmentally friendly reinforcement material for composite applications, aiming to replace conventional materials. The fabrication process utilized empty fruit bunch fibers, resin, and polylactic acid (PLA), with components produced using 3D printing technology. Mechanical properties were evaluated through tensile testing (ASTM D3039), compressive testing (ASTM D695), and Vickers microhardness testing (ASTM E384). The results showed an average maximum tensile strength of 8.18 MPa, while compressive testing yielded a maximum strength of 3.95 MPa. Vickers hardness values ranged from 19.53 to 29.04, with an average of 25.73. These findings highlight the potential of empty fruit bunch fiber composites as an alternative material that supports waste reduction and sustainability in the palm oil industry. However, further optimization of fiber fraction and surface treatment is needed to improve mechanical performance. This study not only contributes to scientific knowledge but also opens opportunities for sustainable material innovation in engineering applications

Abstract

Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) is a processed product from coconut flesh in the form of a clear, tasteless liquid with a distinctive coconut aroma. VCO is obtained through processing coconut milk with several methods, namely the gradual cooking method, the oil fishing method, and the fermentation method. Of these three methods, gradual heating is the most commonly used. This process requires a stable heating device to produce quality VCO. Therefore, to maintain the stability of the heating, precise control is required in the gradual heating method. The heating device is designed to streamline the processing process with an IoT-based control system. This VCO processing device is designed with a temperature control system using an NTC sensor with a high accuracy of ±1.5°C to ensure temperature stability during the coconut milk heating process using a dual-core ESP32 microcontroller that has WiFi connectivity features, thus enabling integration into the Internet of Things (IoT) system for remote monitoring. For the heating process, this device is equipped with a 220V 400W heating element controlled by a Solid State Relay (SSR), so that the temperature can be precisely controlled in the range of 60–90°C.
