Abstract

This study aims to describe the representation of moral values in novel Kawi Matin di Negeri Anjing by Arafat Nur. The design used in this research was a literature review. The data source is the novel Kawi Matin di Negeri Anjing. Data collection techniques used were reading and note taking. The data were analyzed descriptively based on the sociology of literature theory. The results showed that the representation of moral values within the novel ere fortitude, oppression, mutual help, and compassion. The representation of fortitude was shown by the Kawi character in living life with all its shortcomings. The form of oppression was represented through the arrogant behavior of the army towards the citizens. The value of helping is represented through the behavior of the character of Kawi’s uncle who was willing to take care of the sick Kawi’s mother sincerely. The representation of the value of compassion could be seen from the character Kawi who still cared and loved Baidah even though she had been harassed by the army and finally gave birth to a child.

Abstract

The story of Nusantara Bertutur Kompas is one of children’s literary works. Through the characters, the author inserts values and story messages to enlighten life. Therefore, this study aimed to describe the value of character education and educative messages within the children’s story. The research used descriptive qualitative method, designed as literary study. It was done by finding descriptive data in the form of quotes, statements, and narration. Data collection techniques were note-taking and then analyzed by using the following steps; data identification, classification, reduction, and conclusion. The results of the analysis showed there were 15 out of 18 values of character education and 15 educational messages spread in each story. The fifteen educational characters involved religious, honest, tolerant, disciplined, hard work, creative, independent, democratic, curiosity, love for the homeland, respect for achievement, friendship, love peace, social care and responsibility. Educational messages found were children’s fairy tales which associated with the value of character education and the realities in everyday life. Suggestion for all readers who wish to compile research on the similar topic, may need to conduct more thorough, careful, and accurate research. So, they can produce a comprehensive and deeper research.

Abstract

Diabetes Melitus (DM) tipe 2 merupakan penyakit kronis yang prevalensinya terus meningkat di Indonesia dan kemampuan self-management dalam mengelola kadar gula darah masih menjadi permasalahan yang serius. Pasien sering kesulitan dalam melakukan pengelolaan gula darah akibatnya kadar gula darah belum stabil. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mengetahui self management dalam pengelolaan kadar gula darah pada pasien DM tipe 2 di RSUD Wates Kulon Progo. Jenis penelitian deskriptif analitik menggunakan teknik purposive sampling dengan sampel sebanyak 73 responden. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah kuesioner Diabetes Self-Management Questionnaire (DSMQ). Analisa data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dengan menghitung jumlah skor dan persentase penilaian variabel. Gambaran self-management gula darah pasien DM tipe 2 adalah kategori baik (27,4%) dan kategori kurang (38,4%). Kemampuan self-management gula darah pasien DM tipe 2 dalam mengelola kadar gula darah masih kurang dan diperlukan peran tenaga kesehatan dalam memberikan edukasi dan pendampingan secara berkelanjutan kepada pasien DM tipe 2 khususnya untuk meningkatkan kemampuan manajemen diri pasien dalam pengelolaan kadar gula darah yang baik.
