Abstract

Technological advancements in the Society 5.0 era encourage the education sector to create creative, interactive, and student-centered learning media. In the Elementary Science and Social Studies (IPAS) subject at the primary school level, one common issue is the low level of students’ critical thinking skills, largely due to the continued use of conventional teaching methods. This study aims to develop a Smart Apps Creator-based learning media for the Human Digestive System topic for 5th-grade elementary school students, with a primary focus on enhancing critical thinking skills. This research is a Research and Development study that applies the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages: Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate. The research subjects were 5th-grade students at SD Muhammadiyah Babat. Research instruments included expert validation sheets, student response questionnaires, and student activity questionnaires. The results showed that the media was categorized as highly valid, with expert validation scores of 93.3% from material experts, 90% from media experts, and 91.7% from design experts. The practicality of the media was also very high, with student response scores above 91%. Therefore, the Smart Apps Creator-based learning media is considered feasible and recommended as a supportive tool for IPAS learning to strengthen students’ critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Character education based on Islamic values plays a crucial role in shaping a generation that is faithful, pious, and morally upright. MI Muhammadiyah 01 Sukodadi, as an Islamic educational institution, is committed to instilling Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah values in its teaching and learning processes, particularly for fourth-grade students. This study aims to explore how the implementation of Al-Islam and Muhammadiyah character education contributes to the development of students’ faith, piety, and noble character. The research employed qualitative methods, including observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The findings indicate that MI Muhammadiyah 01 Sukodadi has successfully developed students' character holistically, encompassing aspects of faith, morals, intellect, social interaction, and leadership. Students demonstrated a good understanding of Islamic teachings and actively participated in religious activities, although maintaining consistency in worship remains a challenge. Their social interactions with peers and teachers reflected positive attitudes and a strong sense of empathy. However, issues such as impolite behavior and a lack of interest in leadership roles still need to be addressed. Overall, the school has created a supportive educational environment for character development grounded in Islamic and moral values.

Abstract

Children's growth and development can be influenced by parents' parenting style. Parental parenting is one of the factors that can influence a child's growth and development. To overcome children's lack of discipline, the task of parents is to educate their children in good parenting styles. Because by practicing a good parenting style, you can develop other positive traits, such as a disciplined personality. Disciplined character is a quality that must be acquired from an early age. This research aims to clarify parental parenting styles in developing disciplined personalities in fourth grade students at SDN 1 Sekaran. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research. This research was conducted at SDN 1 Sekaran. The subjects of this research were Class IV teachers, six parents of Class IV students, and six Class IV students. Data collection methods are interviews and documentation. This research uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana model data analysis techniques and source triangulation techniques to ensure the validity of the data obtained. The results showed that one parent applied an authoritarian parenting style, one parent applied a permissive parenting style, and four parents and the fourthgrade teacher implemented a democratic parenting style. And parents and teachers apply all aspects of disciplinary character.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the reading literacy of fourth-grade students at MI Muhammadiyah 1 Sukodadi. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach. The subjects of this study are fourth-grade students, fourth-grade homeroom teachers, and the principal of MI Muhammadiyah 1 Sukodadi. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and document analysis. The results of the study indicate that students' reading literacy is in the good to very good category. Students are able to identify important information in the text. They understand the content of the text, can retell the content in their own words, and answer questions accurately, although some students still struggle to maintain focus while reading. They are also able to critically evaluate and reflect on the content of the text. These findings indicate that the school's literacy program and the implementation of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) approach play a significant role in enhancing students' reading interest, comprehension, and reflective skills.
