Abstract

The purpose of this study was to carry out whether there was an effect of the used the Microsoft Teams application on students’ speaking skills of SMAN 18 Makassar for the 2022/2023 academic year. This study used pre-experimental methods in one pre-test and post-test class through a speaking test. The sample consisted of 25 students taken from the population of class XII Science 1 SMAN 18 Makassar for the 2022/2023 academic year. In conducting data analysis, the writers used the SPSS v.25 application. The results of the data analysis showed that there was an effect on students' speaking skills which can be seen from five speaking assessments, there are pronunciation, grammar, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. The average score of students increased from 47.20 on the pre-test to 84.48 on the post-test. This suggests that the H1 hypothesis is accepted and the H0 hypothesis is rejected. Based on the results of data analysis, the writers concluded that students' speech skills effect through the Microsoft Teams application.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the use of Jeopardy Game learning media on Reading Comprehension Skills of Narrative Text by Eighth Grade students of UPT SPF SMP Negeri 35 Makassar. This research focused on quantitative experimental research. The population of this research was students of class VIII UPT SPF SMP Negeri 35 Makassar, totaling 282 students. Random Sampling technique was used to one class as research sample, which consisted of 28 students. The data were obtained from written tests related to reading comprehension on narrative text. The results of this study used inferential analysis of the t-test by SPSS v.16 which showed a significant effect on the students’ mean score of Reading Comprehension skill between the pretest and post-test. The mean score of the students’ Reading Comprehension on Nrrative Text enhanced from 3.39 in the pretest to 6.46 in the posttest. The significance value calculated 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (P-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that Jeopardy Game learning media is effect applied to students’ Reading Comprehension skill on Narrative Text in class VIII at UPT SPF SMP Negeri 35 Makassar.

Yokmeam Tiranda. 2023. The Effect of Using Review Strategy To Improve Students’ Writing Skill At SMAN 18 Makassar. Skripsi English Language Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Bosowa University. Supervised by Restu Januarty Hamid and Ulfah Syam.This study aimed to know the effect of using review strategy to improve student writing skill at SMAN 18 Makassar. This study used pre-experimental research one group pre-test and post-test. The population in this study was students of class XI IPA SMAN 18 Makassar. The writer took one class from the target population for the research.The sample to be used is class XI IPA 3, the number of samples is 30 students. Data obtained from writing test. The result of this study used inferential analysis of the t-test by SPSS v.16, which showed a signficant effect on the students’ mean score writing skill between the pretest and post-test. The average score of the students’ writing enhanced from 55.10 in the pretest to 88.90 in the posttest. The significance value calculated 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 (P-value = 0.000 < 0.05). Thus, it can be concluded that the review strategy is effect applied to improve students’ writing skill at SMAN 18 Makassar.

Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui penggunaan media sosial di kalangan Mahasiswa Gen Z di era Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka di Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sastra. Jenis penelitian ini adalah purposive sampling. Populasi penelitian ini adalah seluruh Mahasiswa Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan dan Sastra semester Gasal 2023/2024. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 125 responden. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui instrumen angket kemudian  diperdalam melalui wawancara. Dari data hasil penelitian ini diperoleh bahwa: 1) pengguna media sosial lebih cenderung digunakan oleh perempuan, 2) seluruh Mahasiswa mengenal dan tahu cara mengakses media sosial, 3) platform media sosial yang paling sering digunakan adalah WhatsApp, 4) lama penggunaan media sosial rata-rata 3-5 jam/hari, 5) dana yang digunakan oleh Mahasiswa dalam bermedia sosial adalah Rp50.000-Rp100.000 dalam sebulan, 6) media sosial paling sering digunakan untuk berkomunikasi. Media sosial bermanfaat juga untuk berjualan online, berbelanja, menjadi konten kreator, mencari pekerjaan, serta belajar bisnis untuk pemula.
