Abstract

Current business developments provide space for everyone to make creations in business economic activity models. This condition provides opportunities and challenges that become homework for every circle, both business people, academics and even those in authority. The opportunity provided by this condition is the freedom for each individual to develop creativity and business innovation according to the wishes of every society, but this presents a challenge in the form of the growth and development of business economic activities which can violate Islamic principles in transactions and can have a worse impact, namely running a business by making a profit on the suffering of others. Therefore this article seeks to explain the concept of business in Islam with an approach to implementing Islamic principles in business activities. The purpose of this article is to provide an overview of business principles in Islam with a focus on discussing how Islamic principles carry out business economic activities. This article uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. The data were obtained through a literature review of several scientific works both from turat books and from other research results. The conclusion of the results of this article illustrates that Islam gives freedom to every individual to create transaction models and business activities, but the freedom in question does not mean freedom without any barriers in activities. Therefore Islam provides several principles that can be applied in business economic activities which in this article the author summarizes into seven namely, mabadi' ar-rabbaniyyah, an-nubuwah, al-ishlah ijtima'iyyah, al-Jadi, at-tardiyyah, al -ukhuwah, al-hurriyah wal masuliyyah.

Abstract

Multi Level Marketing (MLM) is a marketing innovation that often generates controversy. Some scholars declare that this system is permissible according to Sharia, while others highlight financial risks and ethical concerns in transactions, such as honesty, justice, and prudence. This study aims to analyze MLM practices in the context of Islamic economic law and transaction ethics, intending to provide a balanced perspective on the permissibility and ethical implications of MLM in Islam. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach with a literature study. Data are collected from scholarly literature such as books, journals, articles, and fatwas from Islamic scholars related to MLM. Data analysis is conducted using content analysis methods, examining relevant texts about MLM. Source triangulation is used to ensure consistency and validity of the findings. MLM involves selling products through a network of distributors who earn commissions from direct sales and sales made by recruited members. Fatwa DSN MUI No. 75/DSN-MUI/VII/2009 states that MLM is permissible if the products sold are beneficial, transactions are conducted transparently without deception, commissions are based on product sales, and the recruitment system does not harm new members

Abstract

Price determination is a crucial aspect of economic activity that affects the balance between producers and consumers. In Islam, the principle of justice serves as a fundamental foundation that must be applied in every economic transaction to ensure fairness for all parties involved. This study aims to analyze the principles of justice in price determination from an Islamic perspective and its relevance to modern economic challenges. A qualitative approach with a literature review method was employed, analyzing Qur'anic verses, Hadiths, and Islamic economic literature. The findings reveal that Islamic principles of justice emphasize transparency, honesty, and the avoidance of harmful practices such as hoarding and price manipulation. Moreover, the study highlights that applying the principle of justice in price determination not only maintains the balance between producers’ and consumers’ rights but also promotes market stability and social harmony. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of the relevance of Islamic values of justice to contemporary economic practices and provides practical guidance for economic actors and policymakers in creating a more equitable and sustainable market system.
