Abstract

Abstrak. Fakta mengenai ketidakjujuran akademik (academic dishonesty) yang semakin marak terjadi, berbanding terbalik dengan harapan-harapan sosial masyarakat terhadap mahasiswa. Banyak penelitian mengkaji permasalahan ini, tetapi academic dishonesty telah menjadi gangguan serius dalam pendidikan tinggi yang hingga saat ini belum berhasil diberantas, meskipun telah banyak usaha yang dilakukan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui peran the Big Five personality traits terhadap academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 320 mahasiswa (140 laki-laki dan 180 perempuan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa the Big Five personality traits secara simultan memprediksi academic dishonesty (R= 0,480, F=18,483, p<0,00). Analisis korelasi mengungkap bahwa tiga trait yaitu agreeableness, conscientiousness dan openness muncul sebagai prediktor dari academic dishonesty mahasiswa. Masing-masing memiliki hubungan negatif yang sangat signifikan dengan academic dishonesty. Artinya, semakin rendahagreeableness, conscientiousness dan openness, maka semakin tinggi tingkat academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa. Demikian pula sebaliknya. Sementara itu, berdasarkan data empirik, trait neuroticism tidak memiliki hubungan dengan academic dishonesty, sedangkan trait extraversion berkorelasi negatif dengan academic dishonesty sehingga tidak mendukung hipotesis.Implikasi dari the Big Five personality traits dalam memprediksi academic dishonesty pada mahasiswa akan dibahas pada bab hasil dan pembahasan. Kata Kunci: Academic dishonesty, the Big Five Personality Traits  Abstract. The facts of academic dishonesty are inverse to the social expectations of the society towards students. Many studies have examined this issue, but academic dishonesty has become a serious disruption on higher education, which has not been resolved in recent years, despite much effort being made.The current study aimed to examined the role of the Big Five personality traits (extraversion, agreeableness, conscientiousness, neuroticism, and openness) to academic dishonesty among undergraduate students. Third hundred and twenty undergraduate students were participated in this study. A hundred and forty were male and 180 were female. The result revealed that the Big Five personality traits predicted academic dishonesty significantly (R= 0,480, F=18,483, p<0,00). Correlation analyses showed that the three of the Big Five traits i.e. agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness emerged as the predictors of academic dishonesty among undergraduate students. Each had a negative significant association. Academic dishonesty thus increases as agreeableness, conscientiousness, and openness decreases. Furthermore, based on empirical data, the hypotheses about relationship between other personality (neuroticism and extraversion) with academic dishonesty were not supported. Neuroticism were not related to academic dishonesty, while extraversion had a negative correlation. Implications of the Big Five personality traits measures to the predictions of academic dishonesty among undergraduate students are discussed.

Abstract

Penelitian ini adalah bagian dari program research and development multitahun dengan tujuan akhir yaitu memiliki model akselerasi penyelesaian skripsi pada mahasiswa S1 Psikologi. Pada tahun pertama,  penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan lamanya masa penyelesaian skripsi pada mahasiswa psikologi. Subyek penelitian ini adalah lembaga penyelenggara program studi psikologi S1 di Semarang. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik wawancara, dan data penelitian diolah menggunakan analisis koding. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rerata mahasiswa psikologi memerlukan waktu dua semester untuk menyelesaikan skripsinya. Faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi penyelesaian skripsi, yaitu: kebijakan fakultas dalam penyelesaian skripsi, kendala-kendala dalam menuntaskan skripsi, dan usaha mahasiswa dalam merampungkan skripsinya. Dengan hasil tersebut, penyusunan model akselerasi penyelesaian skripsi adalah saran yang urgen untuk ditindaklanjuti.

Abstract

Children often feel afraid to speak in front of the class due to various psychological and social factors affecting their development. This anxiety can hinder communication skills, reduce self-confidence, and negatively impact academic performance. The fear of negative evaluation, lack of self-confidence, and environmental pressure contribute to these feelings. Self-talk can help individuals recognize and transform negative thought patterns into positive affirmations, thereby enhancing self-confidence and improving their ability to handle challenging situations. This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of Self-Talk Therapy as an intervention method to reduce public speaking anxiety among elementary school students. The research employs a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest design, and data analysis is conducted using the t-test technique. The results indicate that Self-Talk Terapi is effective in reducing students' anxiety, as reflected by a significant decrease in the average anxiety score from 70.47 to 43.13. These findings provide a foundation for developing broader, accessible mental health intervention programs that are relevant for the prevention and management of mental health issues in society. ABSTRAKAnak sering merasa takut untuk maju ke depan kelas karena berbagai faktor psikologis dan sosial yang memengaruhi perkembangan mereka. Kecemasan ini menghambat kemampuan komunikasi, mengurangi rasa percaya diri, dan berdampak negatif pada prestasi belajar. Hal ini disebabkan oleh rasa takut terhadap penilaian negatif, kurangnya keyakinan diri, dan tekanan lingkungan. Self-talk membantu individu mengenali dan mengubah pola pikir negatif menjadi afirmasi positif, sehingga meningkatkan rasa percaya diri dan kemampuan menghadapi situasi sulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki efektivitas Self-Talk terapi sebagai metode intervensi untuk mengurasi kecemasan tampil di depan kelas pada anak sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-eksperimen pretest-posttest. Analisis data menggunakan Teknik uji-t. Self-talk terapi terbukti efektif mengurangi kecemasan siswa, ditunjukkan oleh penurunan signifikan skor rata-rata kecemasan dari 70,4667 menjadi 43,1333. Temuan ini menjadi dasar pengembangan program intervensi kesehatan mental yang lebih luas, mudah diakses, dan relevan untuk pencegahan serta penanganan masalah kesehatan mental di masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the analysis of the influence of social media and peers on adolescent behavior in clubbing culture in generation Z in Semarang City. The population in this study were all generation Z in Semarang City who follow clubbing culture. The number of samples in this study was 100 generation Z in Semarang City who follow clubbing culture. The sampling technique used the purposive sampling method. The research method used is quantitative with data sources in the form of primary data. The data analysis method used multiple linear regression analysis with SPSS version 22. The results of this study provide evidence that partially and simultaneously the variables of social media and peers have a positive effect on adolescent behavior

Abstract

Recent shifts in romantic relationship dynamics among emerging adults have contributed to the increasing prevalence of diverse relationship forms,  including dating relationships and friends with benefits (FWB). Examining how these relationship structures relate to relationship satisfaction is essential for understanding contemporary romantic experiences. This study aimed to compare levels of relationship satisfaction between individuals engaged in dating relationships and those involved in FWB relationships. Employing a quantitative comparative design with a non-equivalent group approach,  data were collected from 136 emerging adults aged 20-25 years through an online survey utilizing the Relationship Assessment Scale (RAS) developed by Hendrick. Participants were recruited using purposive sampling,  and group differences were examined using an independent samples t-test. The results revealed a significant difference in relationship satisfaction,  with individuals in dating relationships reporting higher satisfaction levels than those in FWB relationships (p < .05). These findings highlight the critical role of emotional intimacy and commitment in fostering satisfying romantic relationships. The study contributes theoretically by extending the understanding of non-traditional relationship dynamics within the Indonesian cultural context and offers practical implications for counselors,  sex educators,  and developmental psychologists in supporting emerging adults’ navigation of romantic relationships.

Abstract

Raudhatul Athfal Ben Pinter was established to provide accessible early childhood education for underprivileged families in Dukuh Jamalsari, Mijen District, Semarang City. Since its establishment, the school has never offered English lessons, although the head of the madrasah and teachers hoped that children in their Golden Age could access free English learning. Limited teacher competence in English became a major obstacle. This community service program was carried out to introduce English to students in a fun and engaging way through modeling, drilling, singing, games, and real-life communication supported by attractive learning media. The basic materials taught included family, colors, greetings, body parts, and simple conversations using technology-assisted communicative language teaching. Teachers were also involved throughout the activities to strengthen their teaching capacity. The implementation of this program generated positive outcomes, increasing students’ familiarity with basic English vocabulary and supporting teachers’ readiness to continue similar activities. Overall, the English introduction initiative provided meaningful benefits for students, teachers, and the school community.

Abstract

The development of information and communication technology has increased the use of social media among adolescents, especially the Instagram and TikTok platforms. The increased intensive use of social media among adolescents is often not only functional, but also compulsive, which can lead to social media addiction behavior. Loneliness is one of the psychological factors that contribute to the emergence of social media addiction behavior, especially on immersive and interactive platforms such as TikTok and Instagram. This study aims to analyze the relationship between loneliness and social media addiction tendencies in late adolescent women. The research method uses a quantitative approach with puposive sampling method. The number of samples obtained was 152 respondents with an age range of 18-24 years. Data were analyzed using the Spearman correlation test with SPSS version 25. The results obtained a correlation coefficient value of 0.215 with a significant level of 0.008 (p < 0.01). This value shows that there is a significant positive relationship between loneliness and the tendency of social media addiction.
