Abstract

Purpose:  This research aims to explore the methods used by Sunday School teachers to teach fundamental prayers to the children of Minggu Gembira at St. Yohanes Don Bosco Sukajulu Tiga Jupa. Methodology: This study adopted a qualitative approach using a single case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings reveal that the teaching methods employed by Sunday schoolteachers include the use of visual media, repetition, and real-life examples. Results: This study explored the effectiveness of The Sunday School teacher's method in teaching the main prayers to the children of Sunday Joy at St. John Don Bosco Sukajulu Tiga Jumpa Station. Results indicate that this method shows promise in enhancing children's understanding and retention of key prayers Limitations: The limitations include small sample size and limited generalizability to other settings. Further research is required to assess the long-term impact of this method on children's spiritual growth and development. Contribution: This study contributes to the development of teaching methods for fundamental prayers in Sunday Schools and provides insights into how Minggu Gembira children respond to teaching methods.

Abstract

This study addresses the issue of subordination within the servant leadership model and proposes the concept of friendship leadership, which emphasizes an egalitarian relationship between leaders and congregation members, based on the theology of friendship from John 15:15. The objective of the research is to examine the application of the friendship leadership model by OMK mentors at Stasi Santo Polykarpus Pandumpasan and its impact on the active participation of OMK in the Sunday Word service, as well as the improvement of relationships between mentors and OMK. The research argues that the friendship leadership model creates an inclusive environment that supports the spiritual and social growth of the congregation. The qualitative research method employs techniques such as interviews, observations, documentation, and thematic data analysis. The study's findings indicate that the friendship leadership model effectively increases the active participation of OMK, improves the relationships between mentors and OMK, and creates a more inclusive and supportive environment within the church community.

Abstract

This research aims to implement the Contextual Teaching and Learning model to improve both student learning outcomes and discipline at St. Petrus Medan Elementary School. The classroom action research (PTK) involved 28 students from Phase C Class V of the 2023/2024 academic year. The research method steps start from Associating, Cooperation, Experiencing, Applying, Transferring. Data collection methods include tests, observation, and documentation. Qualitative descriptive analysis is used with process and product success criteria. Results showed significant increases in applicability such as Associating (67% to 83%), Cooperation (58 to 67%), Experiencing (83% to 100%), Applying (67% to 83%), Transferring (83% to 100%). Likewise, there was an increase in student discipline such as doing assignments on time (5.8% to 14.2%), paying attention to teacher explanations well (5.3% to 15.6%), maintaining order in class (3.7% to 12.9%), Involvement in classroom discussions (6.8% to 14.5%), Arriving to school on time (8% to 15.1%). Student learning outcomes also improved, such as Advanced Category (from 46% to 68%), Cakap (from 18% to 25%). Viable (from 29% to 0%), Growing (from 7% to 7%).

Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the participation of the people in liturgical celebrations at the Berastepu Station, St. Petrus and Paulus Parish, Kabanjahe. The research methodology used in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation, interviews, and documentation. Data processing techniques are carried out by data reduction, data analysis, and drawing conclusions. The place of research is at Berastepu Station, St. Peter and Paulus Parish, Kabanjahe. The number of informants for this study were 15 people. The findings of this study are that the people's appreciation of the Church's liturgy is still very low. This low appreciation is evident in the participation of the people in the liturgy which is still passive

Abstract

Manusia dalam hidup selalu dituntut oleh lingkungan sosial salah satunya adalah moral. Manusia sebagai insan bermoral, insan religious dan insan sosial perlu beradaptasi dengan lingkungan tempat tinggalnya. Untuk mencapai insan bermoral, maka pembentukan nilai moral mulai dari keluarga. Orangtua sebagai penanggungjawab kelangsungan hidup anggota keluarganya dituntut untuk mendidik moral kristiani anak sesuai kaidahnya. Fakta dalam masyarakat menunjukan bahwa manusia dewasa ini pemahaman moral sangat memprihatinkan, karena perilaku moral dalam kehidupannya tidak terlihat sebagai insan kristiani yang bermoral. Perilaku korupsi, nepotisme, kolusi, ketidakadilan, tanggung jawab, rela berkorban, cinta kasih, dan sikap takut akan Tuhan. Peneliti berusaha menemukan bagaimana peran orangtua dalam pendidikan moral kristiani anak terutama anak usia 6-12 tahun menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan teknik observasi, dokumentasi dan wawancara, informan adalah orangtua dan anak-anak serta pendapat ahli yang paham sungguh tentang masalah moral dan pendidikan moral yang diberikan orangtua kepada anak-anaknya. Tempat penelitian di stasi, paroki wilayah Dairi Keuskupan Agung Medan.

Abstract

Family is a form of life partnership that is confirmed through the sacrament of marriage, in which husband and wife form a bond in the process of personal maturation and are open to the birth of children. As a sphere of life in the community of life, the family is a small institution of the Church which is filled with spiritual education. The development of the times and the many demands of life that must be met sometimes make parents less aware that teenagers need attention not only in terms of economic needs, formal education but also how teenagers are in a new environment in the modern sphere. So the role of parents is very important in the growth and development of teenagers, especially instilling the values of spiritual education for teenagers. Parents have noble roles and responsibilities as teachers, priests and shepherds. Parents educate, teach, train and become the first teachers of faith for their children. Parents are the first priests to instill the values of faith, teaching and spiritual life in children. Parents as shepherds are leaders who direct children and provide their children's needs. However, currently many parents still lack the knowledge, understanding, awareness and skills to be teachers, priests and shepherds for their children. The method used in this research uses a combination of Library Research and qualitative research by using and reviewing books and informant interviews related to the role of parents in the development of teenagers' spiritual lives.

Abstract

Sunday's celebration of the word of worship is a celebration for all Catholics. In this celebration, all the people took a real part in the form of presence and duty. The participation of the congregation in their duties, for example as worship leaders. Lector. psalmist, collectant, conductor and so on. The community's participation cannot be separated from the role of the station's pastoral council. The DPS is an extension of the DPP and the parish priest whose function is to help direct the congregation to be involved in various pastoral activities in the fields of kerygma, liturgy, diakonia, coinsonia and martyria. This research uses a qualitative approach with observation, interview and documentation techniques. In this research, it appears that DPS has played a good role in increasing congregational participation in the celebration of the prayer service at the station

Abstract

Young people are the hope and future for the church and society. Young people have potential within them. Young people have characteristics, uniqueness, qualities, talents and interests that must be considered. To become Catholic Young People (OMK) as expected by the Church, youth self-formation can be done by applying one method, namely meditation prayer. Meditative prayer is focusing the heart and mind on God. Nowadays, the role of meditation prayer for a healthy spiritual and physical life is increasingly being recognized in the formation of young people. Prayer is the main axis of life towards God. Young people cannot develop into Catholics who are truly close to God and others if they forget to pray. Praying not only refreshes and enriches the mind but also deepens physical life. This fact can be seen in everyday life, many people pray for health and healing from all illnesses and suffering, in the Holy Bible it can be seen only by people who believe in Jesus Christ, it is clearly visible the relationship between faith and happiness. The method used in this research uses Library Research/libraries by using and studying books and writings related to the influence of meditation in the self-formation of young people.

Abstract

Keluarga dianggap sebagai unit terkecil dalam masyarakat dan gereja. Dalam ajaran Katolik, keluarga sering disebut “Gereja rumah tangga” (Ecclesia domestica) dan berperan penting dalam menghayati iman dan prinsip Kristiani dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Cara utama untuk mewujudkan iman ini adalah dengan mewujudkan panca tugas gereja yaitu liturgia (perayaan iman), koinonia (persekutuan), martyria (kesaksian), diakonia (pelayanan), dan kerygma (pewartaan iman). Oleh karena itu, keluarga Katolik mempunyai misi penting untuk memajukan dan mendukung Gereja dengan melakukan lima tugas Gereja dalam kehidupan sehari-hari mereka. Namun dalam pemenuhan kelima tugas tersebut sering kali menghadapi berbagai tantangan yakni dari dalam keluarga maupun lingkungan sekitar. Di Stasi Santo Antonius Padua Besamat, yang merupakan bagian dari Paroki Santo Yosef Delitua, perwujudan lima tugas gereja dalam kehidupan keluarga Katolik menjadi topik kajian yang relevan. Observasi awal menunjukkan bahwa banyak keluarga belum sepenuhnya memahami atau melaksanakan tugas-tugas ini ke dalam rutinitas sehari-hari mereka. Penelitian ini menerapkan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan wawancara mendalam, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi untuk mengumpulkan data dari keluarga Katolik di Stasi Santo Antonius Padua Besamat. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa meskipun sebagian besar keluarga Katolik menjalankan lima tugas gereja, beberapa keluarga menghadapi kesulitan dalam mewujudkan tugas gereja, khususnya di bidang liturgia (perayaan iman), koinonia (persekutuan), dan kerygma (pewartaan iman).

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana peran guru PAK dalam mengembangkan nilai moral Kristiani di SMP Deli Murni Deli Tua. Nilai-nilai moral sangatlah perlu ditanamkan kepada Peserta Didik khususnya pada jaman era digital ini. Moral merupakan norma yang menjadi pegangan seseorang atau suatu kelompok dalam mengatur tingkah lakunya. Nilai-nilai moral merupakan sistem aturan yang mengatur interaksi sosial dan hubungan sosial individu dalam masyarakat dan didasarkan pada konsep kesejahteraan, kepercayaan, keadilan dan hak. Lokasi penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Deli Murni Delitua, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Provinsi Sumatera Utara, Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan penelitian merupakan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan tiga teknik yaitu observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 12 orang antara lain: peserta didik 10 orang, Guru PAK 1 orang, dan Guru BK 1 orang. Hasil penelitian ini, guru PAK sudah mengembangkan nilai-nilai moral Kristiani dengan beberapa aspek yaitu: guru PAK sebagai teladan, guru PAK sebagai motivator, guru PAK sebagai fasilitator, guru PAK sebagai pengajar iman, guru PAK sebagai petugas pastoral.
