Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between high school major, academic and non-academic achievement, major choice through the National Academic Achievement Selection (SPAN) PTKIN pathway, the major pursued at the university, and the Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of achieving students via the SPAN pathway at UIN Mataram. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlational research type. The research location is UIN Mataram, with a sample size of 1,768 students admitted through the SPAN pathway. Data collection techniques were carried out through surveys and documentation of student academic data, including data on high school major, academic/non-academic achievement, SPAN major choice, university major, and GPA. Research instruments included questionnaires and academic data documentation sheets sourced from official institutional archives. Data analysis techniques used Pearson Product Moment correlation tests to determine the relationship between research variables. The results show a positive and significant correlation between major choice in SPAN and the major pursued at UIN Mataram, as well as a negative and significant correlation between university major and student GPA. Additionally, a negative and significant correlation was found between major choice in SPAN and academic/non-academic achievement in high school. Meanwhile, no significant relationship was found between high school major and university major, high school achievement, or GPA, and no significant relationship was found between academic/non-academic achievement and GPA. The implications of this research indicate that students’ academic success in higher education is not solely determined by their major and achievement at the secondary education level but is more influenced by the suitability of major choice, characteristics of the study program, and the learning context in higher education. These findings can serve as a basis for developing more comprehensive, interest- and potential-based student selection policies and career guidance services.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the influence of the use of film media on learning interest and the ability to understand the content of students' stories in learning Indonesian language in grade VI of SDN 011 Desa Baru. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of a one-group pretest-posttest design. The subjects of the study were all grade VI students totalling 36 students and were determined by saturated sampling technique. Data collection was carried out through learning interest questionnaires, ability tests to understand the content of stories, and observation of student activities during the learning process. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics by peer-sample t-test after meeting the prerequisite tests of normality and homogeneity. The results of the study show that the use of film media has a significant influence on increasing learning interest and the ability to understand the content of students' stories. Students become more enthusiastic, active, and able to understand story elements, plots, characters, settings, and moral messages more deeply after learning using film media. The novelty of this research lies in integrating the measurement of learning interest and simultaneous understanding of story content through film media in the context of learning Indonesian in elementary schools. The practical implications of this study show that film media can be used as an alternative, effective, engaging, and contextual learning medium. The contribution of this research is expected to be an empirical reference for teachers and education practitioners in developing innovative Indonesian language learning and oriented towards improving the quality of student learning processes and outcomes.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology has driven transformation in the learning design process, particularly in the context of 21st-century education, which demands personalization, efficiency, and adaptability. The shift from teacher-centered to student-centered learning further increases the need for responsive and data-driven instructional design. Although the concept of ADDIE-based learning design has been widely discussed, existing studies tend to examine AI applications in isolated stages. However, a comprehensive mapping of AI roles across all ADDIE phases remains underexplored. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the trends, roles, and impacts of AI integration in learning design based on the ADDIE model. This research employs a systematic literature review using the PRISMA approach, drawing from databases such as Scopus, Web of Science, and Google Scholar, covering publications from 2019 to 2024. A total of 27 selected articles were thematically analyzed and narratively synthesized. The findings reveal that AI contributes significantly across all ADDIE phases: from data-driven needs analysis, adaptive learning design, automated content development, the implementation of virtual tutors and chatbots, to predictive evaluation and real-time feedback. AI integration is shown to enhance student engagement, instructional effectiveness, and the quality of pedagogical decision-making. This study highlights the importance of AI literacy among educators and learning designers, as well as the need for supportive policies to ensure sustainable AI implementation in education.
