Abstract

Industry 4.0 was born in 2011, for Indonesia it has brought benefits to industrialization and trade starting from 24-hour production automation, time efficiency because the process is fast and connected to the internet for unlimited distances with the help of internet signals, saving minds because AI-based technology is able to think to answer our questions and the ability to store and provide big data, production and trading costs are clearly more efficient because paperless, sending data without couriers, calculating the use of production inputs is more accurate so it is more economical. However, besides the advantages, there are also many challenging problems in Indonesia, starting from misuse of online media platforms, cyber crime (illegal taking of company data/hacking, misuse of other people's personal data for online fraud and illegal investment) which causes state losses of more than Rp. 232, 646 trillion until 2023. Therefore, the government has issued a policy breakthrough in the form of policies that have a broad impact and legal regulations that provide strict limits and sanctions.

Abstract

The Periodic Service Activity with Astra Honda Motor conducted at IKIP PGRI Kalimantan Timur is a form of community service implementation and a reinforcement of collaboration between higher education institutions and the industrial sector. This activity aims to provide free motorcycle maintenance services for the academic community and to increase awareness and knowledge about proper motorcycle care among campus members. The implementation method consisted of three stages: (1) planning and coordination with Astra Honda and the local AHASS network, (2) carrying out the periodic motorcycle service, and (3) evaluating the activity. The results showed a high level of enthusiasm from the academic community. This program demonstrates that collaboration between universities and the industrial sector can provide tangible benefits for the campus community, while also serving as a practical learning opportunity for students. Such programs are expected to be conducted continuously to support skill development and strengthen community engagement within higher education institutions.

Abstract

Understanding economic issues and economic policies is an essential competency for students as the next generation, particularly amid increasingly complex national and global economic dynamics. However, students’ comprehension of these issues remains limited, necessitating structured reinforcement through targeted learning activities. This Community Service Program (PKM) aims to enhance the understanding of students from SMA Negeri 16 Samarinda regarding economic problems and economic policies through an extracurricular science program in the field of economics, in collaboration with IKIP PGRI Kalimantan Timur. The activity was carried out using lecture and discussion methods for 90 minutes, involving seven students participating in the extracurricular program. The material, delivered by a resource person from the Economics Education Study Program, covered fundamental concepts of economic problems, scarcity, economic choice, as well as fiscal and monetary policies. Evaluation results indicate an improvement in students’ understanding by 10%, based on the comparison between pre-test and post-test scores, with the average increasing from 70 to 77. Participants also demonstrated high enthusiasm throughout the activity, as reflected in their active engagement during discussions and their ability to respond to questions related to basic economic concepts. Overall, this PKM activity made a positive contribution to increasing students’ knowledge of relevant economic issues and is expected to strengthen their ability to understand economic policy dynamics in the future.
