Abstract

This community service program aims to develop students' creative potential through ecoprint craft training at MTs DDI Salumbia, improve life skills, and foster environmental awareness based on the use of environmentally friendly natural materials. This activity was motivated by the limited learning of practical skills that integrate elements of art, creativity, and environmental awareness at the madrasah level. The method used was a qualitative descriptive approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Participants consisted of eighth-grade students selected based on their interests and passion for handicrafts. The training was carried out through stages of introducing the ecoprint concept, selecting and processing natural materials, the motif printing process, and evaluating the work. The training results showed that students were able to process natural materials such as leaves and flowers into ecoprint works that have aesthetic and functional value. In addition, this activity was proven to improve creative thinking skills, fine motor skills, cooperation, and students' awareness of the importance of environmental conservation. Ecoprint training also serves as a learning medium based on life skills and has the potential to be developed into school entrepreneurship activities. Thus, this program can be an innovative educational alternative in shaping the character of madrasa students to be creative, productive, and environmentally aware.

Abstract

Liquid palm sugar is a traditional product with high economic value that has the potential to be developed as a superior regional commodity. However, the main challenges faced are the still simple processing process and inadequate packaging, which impact the product's quality and shelf life. This research aims to develop liquid palm sugar with a hygienic processing process and innovative, more efficient, and environmentally friendly packaging. The methods used include filtration and pasteurization to maintain product quality, safety, and stability, and the use of environmentally friendly, airtight packaging to extend shelf life. The results show that the pasteurization process can reduce the number of contaminating microbes, thus extending the product's shelf life. The innovative packaging can maintain the flavor and physical quality of liquid palm sugar for several weeks longer than traditional packaging. Thus, the development of hygienic processing methods and innovative packaging not only improves the quality and shelf life of liquid palm sugar but also provides opportunities to increase product competitiveness in local and national markets.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan potensi kreativitas siswa melalui pelatihan pembuatan kerajinan ecoprint di MTs DDI Salumbia, meningkatkan keterampilan hidup (life skills), serta menumbuhkan kesadaran lingkungan berbasis pemanfaatan bahan alam ramah lingkungan. Kegiatan ini dilatarbelakangi oleh masih terbatasnya pembelajaran keterampilan praktis yang mengintegrasikan unsur seni, kreativitas, dan kepedulian terhadap lingkungan di tingkat madrasah. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Peserta kegiatan terdiri atas siswa kelas VIII yang dipilih berdasarkan minat dan ketertarikan terhadap bidang kerajinan tangan. Pelatihan dilaksanakan melalui tahapan pengenalan konsep ecoprint, pemilihan dan pengolahan bahan alam, proses pencetakan motif, hingga evaluasi hasil karya. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa siswa mampu mengolah bahan-bahan alam seperti daun dan bunga menjadi karya ecoprint yang memiliki nilai estetika dan fungsional. Selain itu, kegiatan ini terbukti meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kreatif, keterampilan motorik halus, kerja sama, serta kesadaran siswa terhadap pentingnya pelestarian lingkungan. Pelatihan ecoprint juga berperan sebagai media pembelajaran berbasis keterampilan hidup (life skills) dan memiliki potensi untuk dikembangkan menjadi kegiatan kewirausahaan sekolah. Dengan demikian, program ini dapat menjadi alternatif edukatif yang inovatif dalam membentuk karakter siswa madrasah yang kreatif, produktif, dan berwawasan lingkungan.
