Abstract

Pengenalan jenis lebah lokal dan manfaat madu adalah hal penting yang perlu dilakukan terhadap anak-anak di Dusun Saluseba, Luwu Utara, Sulawesi Selatan. Edukasi pengenalan lebah dan manfaat madu terhadap siswa SD di dusun Saluseba didasari oleh kegiatan budidaya lebah yang dilakukan oleh masyarakat setempat. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengenalkan jenis lebah lokal dan manfaat mengonsumsi madu secara rutin kepada masyarakat khususnya anak-anak di dusun Saluseba. Metode yang digunakan adalah Participatory Action Resarch (PAR) dengan pendekatan persuasif kepada siswa SD jauh (kecil) 114 Pincara. Untuk menarik minat dan semangat mereka, kegiatan ini dikemas dalam bentuk bermain sambil belajar yang dilakukan di dalam dan di luar kelas. Pengenalan lebah lokal dan edukasi manfaat madu disambut antusias oleh anak-anak dan masyarakat Selama kegiatan berlangsung, para siswa berpartisipasi aktif dan terlibat dalam diskusi. Hal-hal yang didiskusikan adalah jenis lebah lokal yang diternakkan warga, cara lebah menghasilkan madu, dan manfaat mengonsumsi madu secara rutin. Kegiatan ini meningkatkan pemahaman siswa mengenai pentingnya mengonsumsi madu, dan meningkatkan pengetahuan mereka tentang jenis lebah lokal yang dibudidayakan oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

This community service activity aimed to strengthen the social awareness of learners at PKBM Panrita, Parepare City, through the Takjil Sharing and Collective Iftar Program. The activity was initiated based on the need to develop learning experiences that extend beyond classroom boundaries and encourage learners to engage directly with the community. This program was designed as an experiential learning activity that enables learners to participate in social practices, build meaningful interactions, and develop values of empathy, solidarity, and social responsibility. The implementation method applied a participatory approach involving learners, tutors, and PKBM managers in all stages of the program. The activity stages included program planning, task distribution, preparation of takjil packages, packaging activities, distribution to the community, collective iftar, and reflection sessions. Data were collected through participatory observation, activity documentation, process records, and informal reflections from participants. The results showed that the Takjil Sharing and Collective Iftar Program positively contributed to the development of learners’ social attitudes. The activity strengthened empathy, teamwork skills, communication abilities, responsibility, confidence in social interaction, and a sense of belonging toward PKBM as a community learning institution. Furthermore, the program demonstrated that PKBM can serve as a community-based educational space that connects equivalency education, character development, and social empowerment. Supporting factors included learners’ enthusiasm, support from tutors and managers, the Ramadan atmosphere, and the culture of mutual cooperation. The challenges encountered were limited funding, short preparation time, and insufficient reflective documentation. This program is recommended to become an annual social initiative of PKBM supported by implementation guidelines, achievement indicators, structured reflection activities, and broader involvement of alumni, local partners, and surrounding communities.

Abstract

This article synthesizes literature on digital literacy in community-based non-formal education, focusing on adult learning, the digital divide, and empowerment. The study employed a systematic literature review guided by PRISMA 2020. Searches were conducted through Scopus-oriented sources, Google Scholar, Garuda, Sinta, DOAJ, and ERIC for publications from 2019 to 2026. Of 38 records screened, 32 articles were included in the core thematic synthesis. The analysis used four lenses: adult learning, community-based strategies, the digital divide, and empowerment. The findings show that digital literacy in non-formal education is not merely a matter of technical device mastery, but a social learning process shaped by practical needs, mentoring, peer tutoring, learning communities, and institutional support. The digital divide appears in access, skills, confidence, autonomy of use, and the ability to gain tangible benefits. In Indonesia, community learning centers, villages, youth communities, women groups, and micro-enterprise groups can become strategic spaces for linking digital literacy with socio-economic empowerment.

Abstract

Work communication in the event industry is commonly understood as a mechanism for coordinating tasks, managing information flow, and ensuring successful event execution. However, its role as a process of non-formal learning and professional competence development remains insufficiently explored. This study aims to examine how communication between Event Organizers (EOs) and vendors functions as a learning mechanism within the event industry. A qualitative case study approach was employed at Matoa Corner Production, an event organizing and production company in Indonesia. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis involving 10 participants consisting of Event Organizers, vendors, and field crews. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, involving data condensation, data display, and conclusion verification. The findings reveal that work communication operates as a continuous non-formal learning process across three interconnected stages: pre-event communication, event implementation communication, and post-event evaluation. During the pre-event stage, communication facilitates shared understanding, knowledge exchange, and coordination among stakeholders. During event implementation, communication enables collaborative problem-solving, adaptive decision-making, and the development of practical competencies through real-time workplace experiences. Meanwhile, post-event communication supports reflection, knowledge consolidation, and continuous improvement of professional practices. The study demonstrates that communication in the event industry extends beyond operational coordination and serves as a strategic mechanism for workplace learning, knowledge transfer, and organizational capability development. This research contributes to management and workplace learning studies by highlighting communication as an essential organizational resource that supports professional development in dynamic project-based industries.
