Abstract

Physics is a learning that cannot be separated from practicum, physics if explained in theory alone will make students bored in learning physics. So that the purpose of doing this service is to motivate and provide new knowledge to students at the MAS Hajijah Amalia Sari Padangsidimpuan school regarding physics practicum on temperature and heat material and its application in everyday life. This activity was attended by 25 students. The method of implementing this activity is direct practice in providing learning material using Student Worksheets (LKS) as a guide in doing practicum in each material. Based on the results of the activities carried out, it can be concluded that using practicum makes students more enthusiastic and active in learning physics and changes the mindset of students that learning physics is not just memorizing formulas but can be fun learning if done with practicum to prove existing theory. And there was an increase in student scores in answering the questions in the first to fourth Student Worksheets (LKS1-4) so that students became more adept at carrying out practicum on temperature and heat material according to the steps in the student worksheets.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi digital guru di SMP Plus IT Padangsidimpuan melalui sosialisasi dan pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi Google Classroom. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi adalah keterbatasan kompetensi digital guru dalam memanfaatkan LMS secara optimal untuk mendukung pembelajaran di era digital. Metode Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui empat tahapan yaitu: persiapan, perancangan, demonstrasi, dan pendampingan teknis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman keterampilan guru yang signifikan. Indikator pemahan fitur meningkat dari 40% menjadi 80%, keterampilan membuat tugas digital meningkat dari 25% menjadi 90%, serta kemampuan memanajeneb nilai meningkat dari 15% menjadi 80%. Simpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah sosialisasi Google Classroom efektif dalam memperkuat kesiapan guru untuk mengelola kelas daring maupun hybrid secara mandiri dan interaktif, meskipun masih terdapat kendala teknis berupa stabilitas jaringan interner di sekolah.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran fisika di SMA Negeri 1 Siabu melalui pendampingan penerapan model Problem-Based Learning (PBL) pada materi fisika kuantum. Permasalahan utama yang dihadapi mitra adalah rendahnya kemampuan analisis siswa akibat dominasi metode pembelajaran konvensional yang berfokus pada hafalan rumus, serta keterbatasan guru dalam merancang dan mengimplementasikan pembelajaran inovatif untuk materi abstrak seperti fisika kuantum. Tim pengabdian dari FKIP Universitas Graha Nusantara melaksanakan diskusi dan pendampingan kepada 2 orang guru fisika, dilanjutkan dengan implementasi langsung model PBL kepada 50 siswa (2 kelas) dalam dua siklus pembelajaran. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari: (1) sosialisasi dan diskusi model PBL dengan guru; (2) pendampingan perencanaan pembelajaran berbasis PBL; (3) implementasi PBL di kelas bersama guru; dan (4) evaluasi serta refleksi bersama. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan kemampuan guru dalam merancang dan melaksanakan PBL dari 73% pada siklus I menjadi 88% pada siklus II. Keterampilan analisis siswa meningkat signifikan, dengan rata-rata nilai posttest dari 68 (siklus I) menjadi 83 (siklus II), dan persentase ketuntasan klasikal meningkat dari 53% menjadi 87%. Aktivitas siswa dalam pembelajaran meningkat dari 68% menjadi 85%. Kegiatan pengabdian ini berhasil mentransfer pengetahuan dan keterampilan pedagogis inovatif kepada guru melalui diskusi dan pendampingan praktik, sekaligus meningkatkan kemampuan analisis siswa secara bermakna. Rekomendasi tindak lanjut meliputi pengembangan modul PBL untuk materi fisika lainnya dan pendampingan berkelanjutan bagi guru dalam pembelajaran berbasis masalah.

Abstract

The research is motivated by the existence of student misconception in science material, especially in physics which is abstract, low understanding of core concepts, and limited instrument that can facilitate student indepentdent exploration. The porpuse of this research is to develop a Student Worksheet assisted by Phet Interactive Simulation application that is valid, practical, and effective. The research method used is Research and Development (RD) with the ADDIE development model. The research instrument include expert validation by media expert and related materials, student response questionnaires, and learning outcome test result through pre-post tests. The expected research results show that the development of Student Worksheet assisted by PhET Interactive Simulation is in the very valid, prscticsl, effetive category, and can significantly improve conceptual understanding as shown by an increase in student learning outcomes. The integration of PhET Interactive Simulation not only provides learning flexibility but also improves students’ science process skills.

Abstract

The integration of local traditions into science education has the potential to enhance student engagement, cultural relevance, and academic performance. This study explores the development of an innovative integrated science curriculum that incorporates the rich cultural heritage of Southern Tapanuli, Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing purposive sampling to select approximately 30 participants, including teachers, students, and community members. Data collection involves semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis reveals five key themes: Cultural Relevance (107 mentions), Engagement (127 mentions), Community Involvement (71 mentions), Practical Applications (39 mentions), and Challenges (31 mentions). Content analysis further highlights the importance of cultural context (30.7%) and participant interaction (36.0%). Comparative analysis indicates significant differences between groups, with Group A demonstrating higher mean scores (82.5 vs. 75.2, p<0.05) and success rates (78% vs. 65%, p<0.01). Inferential statistics, including t-tests (t=2.45, p=0.018), ANOVA (F=4.67, p=0.012), and chi-square tests (χ²=10.30, p=0.015), support the existence of significant differences and associations between variables. These findings align with previous research emphasizing the benefits of interactive teaching methods and community engagement in education. The study concludes that culturally responsive teaching approaches and community involvement can significantly enhance student motivation and achievement in science education. Future research should further explore these relationships in diverse educational settings to validate and extend these findings.
