Abstract

ABSTRACT The use of technology in education has become an unavoidable necessity in this digital era. This article discusses the implementation of training for lecturers at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP) Cenderawasih University in implementing the Learning Management System (LMS), an online platform that is able to increase the efficiency of teaching and learning at the tertiary level. This training aims to improve lecturers understanding and skills in using LMS as a means to manage learning material, present material interactively, and facilitate communication between lecturers and students. Training methods include practical training sessions, case studies, and group discussions. Training findings showed a significant increase in lecturers understanding and skills regarding LMS use. Lecturers are able to seamlessly manage their courses, present material more interactively, and take advantage of the collaborative features of the LMS. These resultas provide a positive picture of the potential of LMS in improving the quality of teaching at FKIP Cenderawasih University. Keywords: Learning Management System (LMS), Training, Lecturers

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengimplementasikan metode prosedur Newman dalam pemecahan masalah operasi pecahan melalui aplikasi pada soal cerita berbasis pemecahan masalah. Proses pemecahan masalah operasi pecahan seringkali menjadi tantangan bagi siswa dalam memahami konsep matematika. Pendekatan Newman, yang menekankan langkah langkah sistematis, dapat membantu siswa dalam mengatasi kesulitan tersebut.Data berasal dari hasil tes tertulis dan wawancara. Bentuk soal tes adalah soal uraian yang terdiri dari 3 soal dan diberikan kepada 3 peserta didik . Validasi data dilakukan menggunakan triangulasi waktu. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis kesalahan yang dilakukan peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita matematika pokok bahasan operasi hitung pecahan berdasarkan prosedur Newman meliputi: (1)kesalahan memahami masalah, (2) kesalahan transformasi (3)kesalahan keterampilan prosesHasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi positif terhadap pengembangan pendidikan matematika, khususnya dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah operasi pecahan. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga dapat memberikan wawasan tambahan terkait efektivitas metode prosedur Newman dalam konteks aplikasi teknologi informasi untuk mendukung pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

This research was conducted by analyzing various research articles on the urgency of bilingualism for prospective mathematics teachers. In this research, data collection is done by looking for articles that specifically discuss bilingualism in mathematics. There are 11 research articles from national and international journals. The results of the analysis of the article concluded that the ability of English mathematics (bilingualism) provides various benefits for prospective teachers. One of them is increased literacy skills due to various sources of learning using the English language. Another benefit is that motivation to welcome the future is rising. Students realize that English is an ability that can prepare 21st-century skills by preparing one of the communication skills in the learning process.

Abstract

This study aims to the lesson-planning skills of prospective mathematics teachers. This research is a qualitative descriptive research. The data are student-created lesson plans. Upon reviewing these documents, the researcher focused on how well the objectives aligned with the learning model and the students’ worksheet. According to the study's findings, only one of the seven participants in selecting the cooperative learning model type STAD advanced to the group reward stage. Furthermore, one person selected STAD less accurate, as the materials would have been better suited for a cooperative learning model like TPS. students’ worksheet which is developed by students is in accordance with the syntax of the STAD type Cooperative learning model. Five students selected the TPS-type cooperative learning model; however, two of them made an incorrect choice because the difficulties materials had a rather high. There are 6 people who choose the Discovery Learning (DL) model, but the material to be taught is too difficult if students have to discover concepts by themselves. Only 1 student chose the PBL model but this model is not suitable for the material to be taught and learning does not begin by presenting problems.

Abstract

This study aims to reveal preservice mathematics teachers’ understanding of problem solving on polyhedron topics. The subjects of this research is two students who have taken plane geometry course and have already learned studied polyhedron topics.  The data collection is collected by providing a written test where the questions are non-routine problemand focused on Polya's problems solving. Futhermore, the subjects were interviewed twice to obtain valid data. Both subjects have already demonstrated problem-solving skills at the level of understanding problems. This is characterized by the ability to express problems in their own words. The ability to make plans is also good although there is one subject makes an inappropriate planning resulting in errors in problem solving.  In carrying out the plan, one of the subjects shows the ability to present solutions that are not unique or varied, not only in the types of polyhedrons but also in the sizes of each polyhendron selected. The last part is looking back and review the solution was based on the results of interviews of them. This activity actually has been  done even if it is not apparent in the answers of  the written test.
