Abstract

Islamic banks require a different performance measurement than a conventional bank to keep their sustainability. The main disadvantage of employing conventional benchmarks to measure Islamic bank performance is that they fail to investigate shariah facets. This study aims to discover how maqashid shariah index using IMSPM (Integrated Maqashid al-Shariah based Performance Measure) approach and firm value using EVA (Economic Value Added) approach and examine its impact with capital structure on the corporate values of Islamic bank. This study using a quantitative method with the purposive sampling technique. This study involved 11 Islamic bank’s annual reports listed in the Bank Indonesia and OJK from 2015 to 2019 period. The analysis method is multiple linear regression using Eviews 10 program. This study finds that the sample performed highest on the objective of nafs (self) over five-year period. The companies with a constant NOPAT and IC have a better EVA. Maqashid Syariah Index positively influence firm value while the capital structure has no effect.

Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is a behavior performed by an individual or employee voluntarily helping each other without expecting an award or reward from the organization or company. This study aims to investigate the role of spirituality in the workplace and job characteristics on job satisfaction and Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCBIP), especially in organizations that are not affiliated with Islam. The sample of this research is 122 respondents of BLU UPTD Trans Semarang employees and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results indicate that in an organizational environment that is not based on Islam,, spirituality in the workplace and job characteristics have a positive effect on job satisfaction and OCBIP.

Abstract

This study aims to identify validated constructs and their attributes that are used to assess the effectiveness of the public organization's information system functions. In this study, the function of information systems can be in the form of work units, groups of people, or individuals, who are given responsibility for an organization's information system. This study uses literature studies and in-depth interviews with individuals who are responsible for the development, management and operation of information systems in 5 public organizations in Semarang City, to identify 98 items measuring the effectiveness of information system functions. A total of 192 sample items were obtained from a survey of end users of information systems in 5 public organizations in Semarang City. Using principal component analysis and second-order confirmatory factor analysis methods, this study has succeeded in validating 4 main dimensions, namely: Institutional (3 factors), Service Quality (3 factors), System Quality (4 factors), and Individual and Organizational Benefits ( 4 factors). The final instrument can be used to evaluate the effectiveness of existing information system functions, and the results obtained can be used to determine the initial status of effectiveness and for benchmarking.

Abstract

Research aims: This study aims to develop and validate a prediction model for the Islamic finance adoption by MSMEs based on isomorphism theory. In addition, this study also intends to show that the individual cognitive theory approach employed by previous studies in this area is not appropriate.Design/Methodology/Approach: The research strived to develop a predictive model; therefore, variance-based SEM analysis was chosen. The research data were 242 MSMEs selected from four regencies/cities in Central Java Province, i.e., Semarang City, Pekalongan City, Jepara Regency, and Cilacap Regency. The analysis was carried out to ensure that the measurement and structural models were excellent and acceptable.Research findings: This study successfully constructed and validated a model to predict the behavior of adopting Islamic finance by MSMEs employing the isomorphism theory framework. The resulting model has considered a more comprehensive domain, i.e., external organization (isomorphism pressure), internal organization (good corporate governance, GCG), and individual characteristics of the leaders (halal self-awareness, HSA).Theoretical contribution/Originality: This study closed the research gap in investigating the determinants of Islamic finance adoption from the demand side using an organizational perspective, thereby contributing to building a body of knowledge in the domain of MSME behavior and Islamic finance. Theoretically, the resulting model can be an alternative or substitute for the previous approach. As an organization, MSME behavior should not be investigated using individual cognitive theory as done by all previous studies. This study also introduced a new construct called halal self-awareness (HSA). This construct can be exploited and further developed to investigate individual characteristics of halal products or concepts.Practitioner/Policy implication: Stakeholders must have a strong commitment and earnest efforts to increase coercive and mimetic pressures, increase the HSA of MSME owner-managers, and realize good MSME governance. All this will encourage MSMEs to adopt Islamic finance to contribute positively to improving the national Islamic economic and financial landscape.Research limitation/Implication: The HSA construct could not reveal its direct effect on the adoption behavior of MSMEs. Therefore, future studies need to pay more attention to the measures for the HSA construct, namely: HSA neutral (“I know exactly how well my awareness about…”) or HSA positive (“I know exactly that I have a good awareness of .... ”). That way, the impact of the HSA becomes more accurate.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to analyze the comparison of the soundness of Indonesian Islamic State-owned Banks (BNI Syariah, BRI Syariah, Bank Syariah Mandiri) before and after the merger into Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). This research was conducted using indicators of Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Financing (NPF), Operating Costs and Operating Income (BOPO), and Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR). The data used in this study is secondary data consisting of the financial statements of BNI Syariah, BRI Syariah, and Bank Syariah Mandiri in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th quarters of 2020, and the financial statements of Bank Syariah Indonesia in the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in 2021. The analytical method used in this study is comparative analysis using the H-Kruskal Wallis nonparametric test. From the results of the study, it is known that the CAR, NPF, BOPO, and FDR of Indonesian Islamic Banks after the merger are better than before the merger.Keywords: Islamic Bank; Merger; Bank Soundness; BSI ABSTRAKTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis perbandingan tingkat kesehatan Bank Syariah Indonesia BUMN (BNI Syariah, BRI Syariah, Syariah Mandiri) sebelum dan sesudah merger menjadi Bank Syariah Indonesia (BSI). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan indikator Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non Performing Financing (NPF), Biaya Operasional dan Pendapatan Operasional (BOPO), dan Financing to Deposit Ratio (FDR). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data sekunder yang terdiri dari laporan keuangan BNI Syariah, BRI Syariah, dan Bank Syariah Mandiri pada periode triwulan 2, 3, dan 4 tahun 2020, dan laporan keuangan Bank Syariah Indonesia pada periode triwulan 1, 2, dan 3 tahun 2021. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis komparasi yaitu uji nonparametrik H-Kruskal Wallis. Abstract

Latar Belakang : Puskesmas merupakan instansi pemerintah dengan fokus penyedia layanan kesehatan berbasis non-profit. Tujuan : Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan mengukur skala atribut kualitas layanan berdasarkan dari beberapa dimensi kualitas. Fenomena permasalahan yang sering muncul berdasarkan umpan balik pasien yang telah berkunjung seperti pelayanan lama, pemberian obat kurang memuaskan, staf customer service kurang informatif, dan ruang tunggu kurang luas dan nyaman. Metode : Metode Quality Function Deployment dengan analisa House of Quality sehingga mampu mendefinisikan kebutuhan konsumen menjadi respon teknis instansi berdasarkan prioritas utama dalam memperbaiki dan meningkatkan kualitas layanan. Hasil : Kuesioner penelitian diberikan kepada 100 pasien yang berkunjung ke Puskesmas Kagok Semarang dan jumlah tersebut layak untuk dijadikan bahan penelitian karena masih berada di batas minimal sampel yang dibutuhkan. Hasil olah data menunjukkan bahwa jumlah responden berdasarkan jenis kelamin perempuan lebih banyak daripada jumlah responden laki-laki dengan presentase masing-masing 64% dan 36%. Kesimpulan: Kesimpulan dapat diketahui bahwa terdapat beberapa atribut memerlukan perbaikan dan bersifat krusial untuk menyelesaikan permasalahan dalam upaya meningkatkan kualitas layanan pada Puskesmas Kagok.

Abstract

The marketplace is a platform that acts as an intermediary between sellers and buyers to carry out buying and selling transactions online. The marketplace also provides various product selections according to category, payment method, estimated delivery, and many other features. The purpose of this study is to find out how much influence the online customer review, trust, and risk perception have on purchasing decisions with buying interest as an intervening variable (study of students using online market platforms). The sample in this study amounted to 150 respondents using the purposive sampling technique. The data collection method used is by distributing online questionnaires via a google form. The type of research method used is quantitative. The data analysis technique used is the structural equation of modeling (SEM). The results of this study indicate that: (1) Online Customer Review has a significant and positive effect on Purchase Interest; (2) Trust has a significant and positive effect on Purchase Interest; (3) Risk Perception does not influence Purchase Interest; (4) Online Customer Review has a significant and positive effect on Purchase Decisions; (5) Trust has a significant and positive effect on Purchase Decisions; (6) Risk Perception has a significant and negative effect on Purchase Decisions; and (7) Buying interest has a significant and positive effect on Purchase Decisions.
