Abstract

The research entitled Analysis of Education Quality Achievement Strategies During the Corona Virus Disease 19 Pandemic at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic aims to identify and analyze education and training strategies during the Corona Virus Disease (Covid - 19) Pandemic in order to achieve quality education at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. This study uses a qualitative approach, which is a research procedure that aims to describe certain circumstances, which are described in separate words or sentences to obtain conclusions. The focus of the research in this study is the Analysis of Strategies for Achieving Quality of Education During the Corona Virus Disease 19 Pandemic at the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic. The data analysis technique used is qualitative data analysis techniques, while the data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study show Strengths: Accreditation and certification that has been owned by the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic have met the requirements in accordance with the needs of the world of work with the certification provided by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation, in addition to educators who have competence according to the field of science. LMS as a learning system that supports the optimization of student knowledge in learning. Weaknesses: The need for a large budget for the maintenance and development of learning infrastructure equipment in accordance with the needs of the world of work that must be improved. Opportunities: The need for new personnel or human resources in the operation of the latest equipment in accordance with the needs of the work in solving existing problems Palembang Aviation Polytechnic can increase graduates and competencies based on the operation of the latest equipment in aviation. Threats: Some of the threats felt by the Palembang Aviation Polytechnic where infrastructure and technology facilities are also owned by several institutions and other agencies so that the competitiveness of graduates will increase.

Abstract

Ensuring that airside areas are free of Foreign Object Debris (FOD) is a critical activity in aviation, as FOD poses a significant threat to aircraft operations during takeoff and landing. This study aims to enhance FOD detection at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport in Palembang by developing an automated detection system that utilizes image processing technology in combination with the YOLO algorithm. Traditional FOD detection methods rely heavily on manual inspections, which are often hampered by blind spots, time constraints, and human error. The proposed webcam-based system significantly improves accuracy and speed in identifying foreign objects, thereby contributing to flight safety by effectively reducing the presence of FOD on runways. By facilitating real-time detection, this research seeks to enhance operational safety, minimize risks of aircraft damage, and reduce costly delays, while also alleviating the burden on personnel. Utilizing the Research and Development (R&D) method based on the Borg and Gall model, the study progresses through seven stages. The developed technology successfully detects four types of FOD with reasonable accuracy: bird carcasses up to 5 meters away, paper up to 3 meters, and both metal and aggregate up to 2 meters. Feedback gathered from surveys distributed to airport technicians reveals a very satisfactory response regarding the device's performance. Ultimately, this technology aims to minimize the risk of FOD-related accidents, ensuring optimal safety for passengers and aircraft alike.

Abstract

Previous or relevant research is very important in a research study or scientific article. Previous or relevant research serves to strengthen theories and phenomena related to the relationship or influence between variables. This article reviews the factors influencing the Quality of Project Managers in the Construction Industry, namely Leadership Skills, Job Specialization, and Human Resource Aspects. The purpose of writing this article is to build hypotheses about the influence between variables to be used in future research. The results of this literature review article are: 1) Leadership Skills influence the Quality of Project Managers in the Construction Industry; 2) Job Specialization influences the Quality of Project Managers in the Construction Industry; and 3) Human Resource Aspects influence the Quality of Project Managers in the Construction Industry.
