Abstract

Seiring dengan perkembangan teknologi yang semakin pesat dan pembatasan kegiatan masyarakatuntukmengurangidampakpenyebaranCovid-19,strategipenyebarandakwahmengalamiperubahan yang signifikan. Dakwah yang dulunya dilakukan di masjid, di tabligh akbar, di radio,ataupun televisi, sekarang mulai bergeser ke media digital seperti website, instagram, Youtube,Twitter, Facebook, atau media digital lainnya. Kenyamanan dalam mengakses dakwah dimanapun,kapanpun, dan oleh siapapun menjadi keunggulan utama dakwah melalui media digital. Kondisi inisangat sesuai dengan pasar pengguna aktif sosial media di Indonesia yaitu sekitar 61, 8% dari totalpopulasi (Hootsuite, 2021).Inovasi penyebaran dakwah melalui media digital dianggap menjadialternatif solusi yang cukup efektif untuk menyasar semua generasi terutama generasi milenial.Dengan jumlah aktif pengguna internet yang mencapai 200 juta jiwa, jumlah konten kreatorYoutube selevel gold di Indonesia masih berkisar 600 channel (Makarim, 2020). Selain itu, kontenkreatif di Indonesia masih berkisar konten terkait prank, tutorial, musik, berita, atau web series.Masih sedikitnya konten kreator yang berfokus pada dakwah, membuka peluang besar bagi generasimillennial untuk mendalaminya. Untuk itu, pengabdian yangberfokus untuk memberdayakanremaja melalui pelatihan pembuatan konten dakwah menggunakan aplikasi terkini seperti Canvadan Snapseed sangat diperlukan. Sasaran program pengabdian ini adalah remaja putri panti asuhanSiti Khadijah, yang masih bersekolah di jenjang SMP dan SMA/SMK. Mereka merupakan gen Z yangsangat familiar dengan penggunaan teknologi informasi namun masih minim mendapat pelatihanpembuatan konten kreatif berbahasa Inggris yang memanfaatkan aplikasi terkini. Pemilihan pesertapelatihan ini didasarkan pada kebutuhan untuk membangun ketahanan generasi bangsa Indonesiamelalui gerakan pemberdayaan perempuan yang memfasilitasi penguatan keterampilan, kolaborasidan kebermanfaatan secara lebih luas. Metode ceramah, cooperative learning, dan group discussiondigunakansebagaimetodepelatihanpembuatankontenkreatifberbahasaInggrisdenganmenggunakanaplikasiCanvadanSnapseed.Denganmemaksimalkanpenggunaanteknologiinformasi, peserta pelatihan menunjukkan respon positif selama proses pelatihan, mereka aktifberusaha untuk dapat menguasai aplikasi dan menghasilkan konten dakwah yang menunjukkanstyle mereka sebagai generasi Z. Walaupun mengalami sedikit kendala teknis seperti koneksi wifiyangkurangstabildandeviceyangkurangmendukung,pesertabertumbuhdarimemahamipenggunaan aplikasi untuk kebutuhan pribadi seperti eksistensi di media sosial menjadi memahamipenggunaan aplikasi untuk kebermanfaatan yang lebih besar yaitu untuk penyebaran dakwah. Daripelatihan yang berfokus pada hasil visual dua dimensi seperti poster atau photo untuk konten 2314dakwah, pelatihan selanjutnya dapat difokuskan untuk memberi pelatihan pembuatan kontenkreatif dakwah yang menghasilkan ceramah generasi milenial berbahasa Inggris.Kata Kunci:pemberdayaan, perempuan, konten dakwah, Snapseed, Canva

Abstract

This study explores English teachers’ perspectives on the use of authentic texts in language learning. It aims to provide a clear understanding of how teachers perceive and apply authentic texts in various classroom contexts. The research focuses on identifying teachers’ attitudes, strategies, and challenges in integrating authentic materials into teaching practices. The urgency of this research is located on the increasing demand for 21st-century education that develops students' abilities to think critically, solve problems, and apply knowledge in real-life contexts. A qualitative descriptive approach is employed, using an open-ended questionnaire as the main instrument to capture teachers’ experiences and perspectives. The collected data will be analyzed thematically to reveal patterns and key issues emerging from teachers’ responses. The findings are expected to contribute both theoretically and practically by offering insights into effective and contextual English language teaching. Furthermore, the study benefits pre-service teachers, especially seventh-semester students of English Education programs, by helping them connect theoretical knowledge with real classroom practices. Ultimately, this study seeks to bridge the gap between pedagogical theory and teaching reality in EFL classrooms.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the use of discourse markers (DMs) in a media interview titled Extended Interview: Comedian Nate Bargatze, published on the CBS Sunday Morning YouTube channel. The focus of this study is to identify discourse markers in the interview and classify them based on type and function. A qualitative descriptive method was employed, with data collected from the transcript of the interview video. The data were analyzed using Fraser’s (2009) framework to identify discourse marker types and Crible and Degand’s (2019) framework to examine their functions. The findings show that three types of discourse markers, which are elaborative, inferential, and contrastive marker, were found a total of 413 times. Elaborative markers appeared most frequently, with 224 occurrences, followed by inferential markers with 92 occurrences and contrastive markers with 56 occurrences. Furthermore, eight discourse marker functions were identified: addition, consequence, reduction, contrast, temporal, condition, alternative, and concession. In conclusion, discourse markers in interviews play an important role in maintaining coherence, organizing conversation, and sustaining the flow of interaction. Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires teachers to adapt to technological advancements, including AI. The integration of AI in teaching and learning offers great potential for creating a more personalized, interactive, and relevant learning experience. However, research shows that the use of AI in secondary schools is still limited because of a lack of understanding and skills among teachers. This Community Service Program (PKM) focuses on enhancing the competencies of teachers at SMAN 12 Semarang by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) technology into teaching. Through training, this program aims to equip teachers with the knowledge and practical skills to utilize AI to develop instructional materials, implement innovative learning strategies, and conduct effective assessments. The methods used include lectures, discussions, demonstrations, and practical training. The methodology employed in this study is a case study. Thirty-three teachers from various subjects participated in this activity. The survey results were analyzed using the mean, standard deviation, and thematic analysis. The survey results indicated that teachers had a positive outlook on using AI to create instructional materials, questions, and assessments. Teachers created AI chatbot prompts that were clear, specific, contextually relevant to learning, and outcome-oriented. This activity has proven to enhance high school teachers' literacy and skills in utilizing AI to create more meaningful and effective learning experiences.
