Abstract

In the context of education, higher education institutions must be able to implement a good quality hierarchy mechanism so that the institution can provide the expected quality and always strive to improve the quality it has achieved in maintaining its reputation. The right strategy is needed so that higher education institutions can systematically become quality and reputable institutions. Improving the quality of institutions runs continuously so that public participation and expectations of managed educational institutions become stronger and able to maintain their reputation. Quality control and total quality management are methods to provide assurance to the public of the quality and reputation of education organized by institutions. Abstract

This study aims to determine the administrative performance in implementing student administration at Taruna Bangsa Sawit Seberang Private Vocational School. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results indicate that the administrative performance in managing student administration has been running well and can meet the school's needs. However, the obstacles faced by administrative staff include: 1) limited human resources in the administrative department; 2) faulty equipment such as computer errors, broken printers, and lost data, which hinder work; 3) inadequate facilities and infrastructure; and 4) high workloads that cause delays in completing tasks. Overall, this study concludes that good performance can support smooth school administration. To achieve this goal, school needs, especially in the administrative department, must be improved to ensure effective and efficient administrative processes.

Abstract

This study seeks to analyze the quality of administrative services provided by the School Administration Office (Tata Usaha) at SMK Taruna Bangsa Sawit Seberang. Effective administrative services play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of teaching and learning activities within the school. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. Findings reveal that the administrative services at the institution are generally satisfactory. The administrative personnel demonstrate friendliness, responsiveness, and professionalism in carrying out their duties. Nonetheless, several challenges remain, including an insufficient number of staff members, limited office equipment, and a filing system that has not yet been fully optimized. At SMK Taruna Bangsa, some records are still managed manually, which makes document retrieval more time-consuming. Therefore, it is recommended that staff training, additional work facilities, and the adoption of a digital administrative system be implemented to enhance service speed and efficiency.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze how the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum can increase students' interest in learning at SMA Negeri 1 Binjai, Langkat Regency, in the 2024–2025 Academic Year. This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The data collection instrument used was an in-depth interview guide. The research subjects consisted of the principal, the deputy principal for curriculum, two subject teachers, and two students who are members of the Student Council (OSIS). The results showed that the Merdeka Curriculum was able to increase students' interest in learning through flexible, participatory, and relevant learning that caters to students' needs. Teachers play an important role as facilitators and innovators in supporting student-centered learning. Nevertheless, challenges were still encountered, especially concerning teacher readiness, limitations in facilities and infrastructure, and student adaptation to active learning methods.

Abstract

This research seeks to provide a comprehensive description and analysis of the strategies employed by school principals in enhancing educational quality within the school setting. Utilizing a qualitative approach with a case study design, data were collected through observations, in-depth interviews, and document analysis conducted at a secondary school in Indonesia. The results indicate that the school principal holds a pivotal role in advancing education quality, which is carried out through several strategies, such as reinforcing visionary leadership, enhancing teacher competencies via training and academic supervision, fostering a positive school culture, and strengthening collaboration with parents and the wider community. Moreover, the principal incorporates information technology into both administrative functions and the teaching-learning process. The study concludes that the success of a principal’s strategy largely depends on managerial expertise, effective communication, and the collective support of all school stakeholders. These insights are intended to serve as a valuable reference for policymakers in developing strategic initiatives aimed at sustainable improvement in educational quality

Abstract

This study aims to conduct an in-depth investigation into the influence between the implementation of educational supervision and teachers’ professional performance, as well as its implications for the enhancement of educational quality at SMA Negeri 1 Kuala. A quantitative approach was employed using a survey design, in which structured questionnaires served as the primary data collection instrument. The sample comprised 38 respondents selected from a total population of 38 teachers. Data were gathered through systematically administered questionnaires to obtain empirical insights into teachers' perceptions of existing supervisory practices. In this context, educational supervision functions as a strategic instrument in fostering teachers’ professional competencies through structured guidance, continuous evaluation, and the provision of constructive feedback. The findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between educational supervision and improved teacher performance, as evidenced by increased instructional effectiveness, greater work discipline, and enhanced pedagogical capabilities. This improvement in teacher performance, in turn, contributes to the overall elevation of educational quality, reflected both in students’ academic achievements and in the general academic climate of the school. Accordingly, a systematic, sustainable, and needs-based supervisory framework constitutes a critical determinant in driving quality transformation at the senior secondary education level.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the principal’s strategy in improving the performance of administrative staff to create an effective school administration system. This research employs a qualitative method with descriptive data presentation. The data sources used by the researcher include person, place, and paper. Data collection techniques consist of interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis techniques applied are data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing or verification. The results of the study indicate that, as a leader, the school principal must have strategies to enhance the performance of administrative staff. The principals strategies serve as the foundation for empowering administrative staff performance so that school administrative activities can run effectively. The strategies implemented by the principal at SMA Negeri 1 Selesai generally include four main aspects: providing motivation, communication, skill training, and guidance. The role of administrative staff in creating an effective and efficient school administration system is carried out through student data management, curriculum management, and maintaining good communication with various parties.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and analyze the implementation of transformational leadership practices by the principal in improving teacher professionalism at SMK Swasta Budi Utomo Binjai. Teacher professionalism serves as a key component in efforts to enhance the quality of education; therefore, the principal’s leadership plays a crucial role in determining the direction and quality of teachers’ performance. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and document analysis. The research informants consisted of the principal, vice principal, and several teachers selected proportionally to represent the. The findings indicate that the principal implemented transformational leadership strategies through four main dimensions: (1) Idealized Influence, demonstrated by modeling exemplary behavior and decision-making; (2) Inspirational Motivation, shown through the communication of a clear vision and the encouragement of teachers’ work enthusiasm;(3) Intellectual Stimulation, by motivating teachers to think innovatively and critically in the learning process; and (4) Individualized Consideration, by providing attention and support for each teacher’s needs and professional development. The implementation of these strategies has proven effective in enhancing teachers’ commitment, responsibility, and performance quality. In conclusion, the principal’s transformational leadership plays a significant role in fostering and improving teacher professionalism, which ultimately contributes positively to the overall quality of education in the school. Based on the findings, it is recommended that the principal continue to strengthen participatory leadership practices and focus on developing human resource potential within the school environment.
