Abstract

In the wake of transformative alterations in the Industrial Revolution epoch, a discernible transition has transpired, heralding a departure from conventional printed instructional resources to a realm dominated by digitalized pedagogical materials. In light of this evolution, the present investigation aspires to delve into a discerning framework tailored to scrutinize the efficacy of educational media crafted to propagate gender egalitarianism. Methodologically, this qualitative inquiry has harnessed the potency of document analysis as a means to amass pertinent data, augmented by the application of content analysis techniques to dissect the amassed information stemming from both traditional print and contemporary digital teaching media. The study's outcomes elucidate an emergent paradigm derived from the pre-existing evaluative framework, delineating a novel trajectory in discerning gender-centric content within didactic materials. In conclusion, the criteria underpinning this evaluative process extend beyond conventional parameters, encapsulating innovative benchmarks such as progressiveness and neutrality, though not circumscribed exclusively to these classifications. This study thus unveils a nuanced perspective, casting a discerning light on the multifaceted facets of evaluating pedagogical materials in the dynamic milieu of digitalized education

Abstract

This research examines the conflicts experienced by the main character, Angel, in a novel entitled Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers, using a psychoanalytic approach grounded in Sigmund Freud’s theory of the id, ego, and superego (1923). The study aims to identify and classify the psychoanalytic elements within the narrative and analyze their implications on character development. Employing a descriptive qualitative methodology, the data for this research was collected from the scripts in the novel and then classified based on Freud’s theory as the foundation to analyze the conversations found in the scripts. The findings showed that Angel’s past experiences have shaped her into a woman who finds it difficult to trust others, particularly in romantic relationships with man. The relationship between Michael and Angel as well as Michael Hosea’s strong ego play. Crucial roles in mediating these conflicts are providing Angel with the love and support necessary for healing. These findings demonstrate that understanding the psychoanalytic elements offers deeper insights into the characters’ emotional struggles and their journeys toward self-acceptance and redemption.

Abstract

This research is entitled “Analysis of Student Motivation Improvement in the English Pronunciation Learning Process.” This study aims to explore, analyze, and describe motivation in improving English pronunciation and the strategies used by English majors in improving English pronunciation. This study uses the concepts of Deci and Ryan (1980) and the Macrotheory of Deci and Ryan (2008). This type of research is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. In data collection, a semi-structured interview method was used. The results of the study show that: The factors that influence the increase in motivation of English major students in learning English pronunciation consist of two types of motivation, namely intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, such as: 1) intrinsic factors that influence the increase in student motivation, such as self-confidence, personal interests and goals, and self-motivation in learning English pronunciation. Then 2) extrinsic factors that influence the increase in student motivation, such as social and professional demands, peer influence, and support and encouragement from lecturers. Based on the results of the analysis of increased student motivation in the process of learning English pronunciation, several students emphasized that successful learning can occur due to motivating factors that arise from within themselves.
