Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to develop a mobile-based English learning application that can support the teaching process for both teachers and students in Kindergarten (TK). The subjects of this study are the students of Padre Annibale School for the 2025-2026 academic year. The background of this research is the limited use of learning media that cannot actively involve students. Additionally, many children in the millennial era are more attracted to electronic media, especially mobile phones, which presents a challenge in the learning process. The tendency for children to spend more time on mobile phones rather than reading books or listening to the teacher’s instruction can be seen as an opportunity to introduce technology-based learning media. With the presence of learning applications on mobile phones, students can access educational information anytime, both at school and at home. This application is designed to provide ease in obtaining English learning materials that meet the needs of students, as well as assist teachers in enriching their teaching methods. Through this approach, it is hoped that the teaching and learning process can be more interactive and engaging for students, while also supporting the integration of technology in education.

Abstract

The Electronics course necessitates the integration of theoretical knowledge, practical skills, and scientific communication competencies. Technology-based Project-Based Learning (PjBL) provides an effective means to address these requirements by engaging students in meaningful, hands-on projects. This study examines the implementation of Arduino-based PjBL through the development of an automatic watering prototype and evaluates its impact on students’ scientific communication skills in the Electronics course. A qualitative research design was adopted, with participants comprising students enrolled in the course. Data collection methods included classroom observations, project documentation, and student reflections. Scientific communication skills were assessed using six indicators: clarity of delivery, appropriate use of scientific terminology, structure and logic of presentation, data interpretation, responses to questions, and written communication. The results demonstrated that students presented their projects more systematically, beginning with problem identification, followed by system design, testing results, and conclusions. Students were able to explain circuit errors and propose corrective actions logically. Additionally, written reports became more structured and were substantiated by measurement data. Overall, the findings suggest that Arduino-based PjBL effectively supports the development of students’ scientific communication skills in Electronics education.

Abstract

The mixing of pure coconut oil (VCO) with cheaper vegetable oils has negative impacts on both consumers and producers. This study aims to develop a method for detecting VCO adulteration using an ESP32-based dielectric sensor combined with a Random Forest classification algorithm. The research employed an experimental design using 225 samples, including pure VCO, canola oil, corn oil, and various mixture ratios, each measured with five repetitions. The results show that pure VCO exhibits the highest capacitance values (58.4–62.4 pF), followed by canola oil (44.8–47.8 pF) and corn oil (43.2–46.6 pF), indicating clear differences in dielectric properties related to fatty acid composition. ANOVA analysis confirmed a significant difference between pure VCO and adulterated oils (p < 0.05). The Random Forest model achieved an accuracy of 53–58% for 15-class classification, while binary classification (pure vs adulterated oil) reached more than 90% accuracy. This finding is discussed in terms of the effectiveness of dielectric sensing combined with machine learning for distinguishing oil authenticity. In conclusion, the proposed system provides a fast, low-cost, mobile, and user-friendly solution for VCO quality monitoring, with potential applications in supply chain control and consumer protection.
