Abstract

PT. ASM is a company operating in the steel sector. In production, it is of course important to maintain machine productivity to maintain production quality performance. In the research, problems were found in the form of machine damage which resulted in production stopping. In this research, the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) method is applied as a quality management approach to control process and product quality by integrating Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and SQC. In research, there are two types of data, namely primary data and secondary data which are used as references to facilitate the problem solving process. Primary data was obtained through interviews related to the production process, machine function, and causes of defects in production, while secondary data was obtained from company data recaps related to defects in production. Based on the results of the Pareto diagram, it was found that 55% of the problems were imprecise, while 45% were caused by iron cracking during the production process. Thus, it can be concluded that product defects are mainly caused by cracks in the iron and lack of precision in the machine

Abstract

PT. ABC is a plastic woven packaging company for various FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) line products which often experience rejection from FIBC products. The objective of the research is to recognize the categories and elements influencing the most significant defects in FIBC products at PT. ABC. The research methodology employs Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). The FTA analysis is influenced by 3 factors, namely the man factor because the operator works under pressure, the machine factor because the spool and needle parts are not connected, and the material factor because the tying tape is damaged so that the woven fibers are not neat, so that the FMEA analysis results for stitching defects have an RPN (Risk) value. The largest Priority Number) is the part working under pressure with a score of 216. PT. ABC requires training for new employees in the QC (Quality Control) section and maintenance employees in order to reduce the risk of causing defects in FIBC (Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container) products.

Abstract

An important activity in a production process is material handling. One of the activities carried out at PT. Workers often complain of pain in the upper arms and shoulders. Therefore, an analysis of the Weight Limit and Lifting Index recommendations was carried out to determine the maximum weight that can be carried by workers. The calculation results show that the weight of the load lifted exceeds the recommended fattening limit because the LI value is> 1 and with a maximum RWL weight of 10.90 kg, so the worker's activities are at risk of spinal damage. Based on discussions with the company, material handling equipment in the form of a trolley is required. The dimensions of the proposed trolley are that the width of the trolley base is 35 cm; (b) The length of the trolley base is 80 cm; (c) The height of the trolley is 54.47 cm; (d) Trolley handle width 35.19 cm; (e) The height of the trolley handle is 95.16 cm

Abstract

PT. KAS or known as PT. Karunia AIam Segar is one of the F&B companies that produces products in the form of instant noodles. In the production process, PT. KAS has several divisions to process raw materials into the final product, namely instant noodles which have been packaged and given additional spices according to the type of taste. Of the many processes that go through, this company's final product results in defective products such as pieces of noodles, crushed spices, squashed noodles, cuts, temperature and/or joints, misprinted expiry dates, and seasoning oil leaking in the packaging. From the problems obtained, the author carried out research using the Six Sigma and FMEA methods with the aim of minimizing the number of variations in product defects. Based on the results of data processing on fried instant noodle packaging defects, it has a six sigma value of 4.96. Meanwhile, the highest RPN value for temperature and/or connections due to human factors (man) was 504, and the highest RPN value for oil leaks in packaging due to human factors (man) was 567.

Abstract

PT ISM Tbk. Divisi Bogasari merupakan perusahaan manufaktur makanan yang memproduksi tepung terigu. Salah satu proses produksi perusahaan tersebut yaitu packaging tepung terigu 25 Kg. Dalam proses packaging yang dilakukan terdapat 4 CTQ (Critical To Quality) diantaranya yaitu kondisi label, kondisi jahit, keadaan metal detector, dan berat timbang. Selama periode Agustus-November 2023 proporsi kecacatan produk sebesar 4.01% yang artinya melebihi standar maksimal kecacatan perusahaan sebesar 2.5%. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengurangi kecacatan produksi dengan metode six sigma serta mengetahui solusinya dengan prioritas tindak perbaikan yang dilakukan dengan metode FMEA. Hasil analisis diketahui nilai sigma pada proses packaging sebesar 3.84, cacat jahit merupakan jenis kecacatan yang mendominasi dengan persentase cacat sebesar 52.8%. Faktor utama yang menyebabkan yaitu kelelahan pekerja. Solusi tindak perbaikan yang dapat dilakukan yaitu penyesuaian area kerja agar tidak panas dan bising, melakukan training dan pendampingan bagi operator baru, penyesuian job desk kerja, dan penyesuaian fasilitas kerja selama overtime.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a service company engaged in water treatment.This company is experiencingmany problems in the production process and there is no structured mitigation plan. The aim of this research is to determine the risks that are estimated to exist or have already existed and provide mitigation plans. This research applies the SCOR approach for mapping and the House Of Riskmethod for analyzing and providing risk mitigation. After that, risk analysis was carried out in House Of Riskphase 1 which resulted in 35 Risk events & 30 Risk Agents with 5 priority risk results obtained from ARP estimates including A16, A28, A26, A10, A18, while for preventive The actions obtained from the AHP estimation were 8, namely PA1 with a value of 0.26, PA3 with a value of 0.20, PA2 with a value of 0.17, PA4 with a value of 0.13, PA5 with a value of 0.12, PA6 with a value of 0, 08, PA7 with a value of 0.03, PA8 with a value of 0.02.

Abstract

As the industrial world continues to advance, competition between companies is becoming increasingly fierce. To enhance customer satisfaction, companies must be able to provide the best quality. CV. ABC is a manufacturing company focused on producing *songkok* (traditional caps). However, during the production process, the company faces several challenges, particularly with defective products. The purpose of this study is to conduct quality control using the Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) methods.The results of the FMEA calculations are as follows: the sewing machine encountered needle breakage issues with an RPN (Risk Priority Number) of 448, dull and poorly maintained cutting tools during the stitching process with an RPN of 576, low-quality raw materials with an RPN of 504, and a substandard screen-printing tool with an RPN of 648. Through the FTA method, the causes of failure include human factors, machine malfunctions, and poor-quality raw materials.

Abstract

MSME IBS is a home industry that produces baby sofas, baby bedding, etc. MSME IBS faces material handling problems due to poor layout management factors, as well as the realization of the amount of production that does not reach the predetermined target. The research aims to solve the problem of poor layout to be better using the ARC and ARD methods. The resulting efficiency is 49% with a distance of 1512,5m resulting in a decrease of 51% from 100% of the initial distance with a distance of 3085m after making changes from the initial layout to the proposed layout. For this reason, it requires facility improvements to reduce the distance traveled and the accumulation of goods that make the production flow narrow and far by applying the proposed layout between production rooms in order to reduce material handling.

Abstract

Human labor plays a vital role, especially in Manual Material Handling (MMH) processes. While these activities are crucial for smooth operations, they often lead to musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs). MSDs are long-term consequences of improper workstation postures. This research aims to identify the working postures of screen printing workers and propose ergonomic desk designs as improvements. The REBA and OWAS methods can be applied. REBA focuses on assessing the entire body posture of workers, while OWAS aims to identify work activities that potentially cause MSDs. The calculated REBA score is 7, and the OWAS score is 2, indicating a need for preventive measures. The proposed solution is an ergonomic desk design that adjusts to the worker's height.

Abstract

UD. Hasta Jaya is a company engaged in supplier general trading, supplying various types of consumable goods including cloth and plastic rubber elbows. The company's lack of attention to inventory control flow is a major problem so that it can result in losses that will be experienced by the Company financially and operationally. To calculate the efficiency of inventory management, namely by knowing the components, the optimal order quantity in one order, and knowing the total inventory cost in reducing costs using 2 Min-Max and EOQ inventory control methods. The results of the calculation with the EOQ method were ordered 7 times, the order quantity was 949 Kg and 842 Kg at a cost of Rp 930,141 and Rp 929,704. As for the Min-Max method, namely 26 orders, with quantities of 241 Kg and 122 Kg and costs of Rp 1,948,873 and Rp 3,270,342.
