Abstract

Education is very important for the development of a country. Countries with high educational standards are considered developed. Skills in critical analysis are vital to advancing the nation and oneself in the 21st century and also to provide experience as an important asset to compete in the future. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between learning using practical methods and its impact on students' critical analysis skills. In this research, a descriptive analysis method was used to describe the problem of a correlation study in practicum-based learning with students' critical analysis skills. The data collection technique used was the literature study method. The literature taken is based on previous research related to the topic. Research shows that practicum-based learning is considered useful in honing critical analysis skills, stimulating initiative, learning motivation, and establishing collaboration. The results obtained are that practicum-based learning is able to improve students' critical analysis skills by increasing student activity during practicum learning. These active students encourage students to do their practicum well and can get answers to unsolved problems.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the SAVI (Somatic, Auditory, Visualization, and Intellectual) Learning Model in improving student academic performance. The SAVI model combines four key elements—somatic, auditory, visual, and intellectual—allowing students to learn actively and engage fully in the learning process. This approach not only creates variation in teaching methods but also helps students find learning methods that align with their individual learning styles. Through this structured approach, students are given the opportunity to develop their understanding through hands-on experiences, listening to explanations, seeing visual representations, and engaging in critical thinking activities. This research utilizes a literature study method to explore the effectiveness and applications of the SAVI Model. The findings reveal that implementing this model increases student motivation, promotes their engagement in class, and strengthens their understanding of learned concepts. Moreover, the model plays a crucial role in honing students’ critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills, which are essential competencies for student development in the modern era.

Abstract

Schools play an important role in developing the intelligence of the younger generation, including intellectual, emotional, and spiritual aspects. An optimal learning process requires a balance between good teaching quality and a conducive learning environment. However, one of the obstacles in traditional learning is the lack of interaction between teachers and students, which is often caused by feelings of reluctance and shame. This condition hinders the effectiveness of learning. To overcome this problem, a mentoring program was implemented involving grade XII students as mentors for grade X students. In this program, grade XII students who understand the material help grade X students to learn. This study aims to examine the effect of the mentoring program on grade X students' understanding of Biodiversity material. This program is designed to create a more personal and supportive learning atmosphere, so that students feel more comfortable asking questions and discussing. The study was conducted using a quasi-experimental method with a pre-test posttest control group design. The results showed that the mentoring program significantly improved students' understanding of Biodiversity material. Therefore, this program can be an effective alternative to improve the quality of learning and improve student understanding.
