Defensive riding training is a strategy that helps motorcyclists to always be in control and not be surprised by the actions of others. SMK Negeri 1 Banjarbaru, a school with many students using motorbikes for transportation, is located in an area with high-traffic accidents. This activity aims to provide students with an understanding of how to drive defensively and Toricelli-based. The method of implementing the service is to form peer educators, as many as six people from students aged 17 or this year aged 17, given education and training on Toricelli-based defensive riding training. The organizer evaluates knowledge through a pre-post test. The evaluation results showed increased knowledge about defensive riding training in students of SMKN 1 Banjarbaru. The role of peer educators of SMKN 1 Banjarbaru students can continue to remind their peers of the importance of safe driving culture, so that the role of peer educators does not only stop when this activity ends.

Abstract

Needlestick incidents are caused by hypodermic syringes, blood draw needles, and connecting needles from intravenous delivery systems which can accidentally puncture the skin, causing injury. WHO states that NSI include to one of the top serious occupational hazards among health workers, including nurses, with >2 million incidents among 35 million health workers. In Indonesia, there was a cohort study which resulted in the finding of 286 cases of NSI with the most frequent occurrence in nurses (42.7%) with an incidence rate of 15.2 out of 1,000 people per year. The purpose of this research is to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, work fatigue of NSI among nurses at Hospital X. This research uses a quantitative cross sectional design. The population was 275 nurses with 80 sample size. This research instrument used a questionnaire. The Fisher Exact test show the result  of the research which there is a significant relationship between knowledge and attitudes towards the incidence NSI in nurses (p-value 0.003 and 0.013), while the work fatigue variable does not have a significant relationship with the incidence of NSI (p-value 1.000). It is hoped that the K3 Program can be implemented as an effort to prevent NSI in nurses.

Abstract

Computer Vision Syndrome (CVS) has a global prevalence of 60%-90% among computer users where the total number of sufferers is estimated to reach > 60 million individuals per year and continues to appear one million new cases in the world. Based on the results of preliminary studies conducted on Computer Science students FMIPA ULM, it is known that the duration of computer use in a day for all respondents (100%) is >4 hours, this causes CVS sufferers among students to increase. The purpose of this study is to analyze the correlation of eye visibility, duration of computer use, and length of rest to CVS complaints in students majoring in computer science. The study used a cross sectional quantitative design with a population of 193 students and a sample of 72 taken through proportional random sampling. The research instrument used a questionnaire adapted from previous research for the variables of duration of computer use, length of rest, and CVS complaints, while the eye visibility variable used a tape meter. The results of Chi-Square testing showed that there was a correlation between eye distance (p-value = 0.018), duration of computer use (p- value = 0.002), and duration of rest (p-value = 0.001) with CVS complaints. Students are advised to adjust their eye distance with a computer screen as far as 50-100cm, take a break for 10 minutes when working in front of a computer for 1 hour, and adjust work patterns so that they are not long in front of the computer.

Abstract

Based on BPS data, consumption of cigarettes and e-cigarettes by teenagers over 15 years old decreased by 2.62% from the previous year, but it still has the potential to be dangerous. Adolescent health is quite worrying considering that teenagers are the main figures who can carry forward the vision for the future. The aim of this research is to obtain empirical evidence and appropriate strategies for implementing the HPU program. The method used is quantitative, through a survey with Franken-wallen incidental sampling, respondents are students pursuing higher education in 3 districts/cities, namely Banjar Regency, Banjarmasin City and Banjarbaru City. The survey was conducted from September to October (2 weeks) online. The results of this study show that cigarette and e-cigarette consumption is quite low, but respondents' perceptions regarding are still comprehensive (71%), including regarding graphic health warnings on cigarette packaging (80.1%). Interest in consuming fast food tends to be high (64.2%), who regularly consume fruit and vegetables (37.5% and 33.5%). The use of gadgets among students is very high (58%) and complaints regarding CVS also appear (45.5%). To support HPU, a specific action plan is needed, especially to strengthen understanding of the impact of consumption of cigarettes and so on.

Abstract

The nursing profession has potential to experience stress in the workplace. Based on 2022, as many as 68% nurses at RSD Idaman Banjarbaru experience work stress. Apart from that, the Bed Turn Over value at RSD Idaman Banjarbaru exceeds the standard, namely 67,73. Based on Hurrell and McLaney’s theory, work stress can be impacted by numerous factors, one of which is the workload, work shift, and role conflict. The objective of this study is to examine the correlation involving workload, work shift and role conflict on work stress among nurses RSD Idaman Banjarbaru. The study employed a quantitative cross sectional design, with a research population comprising all 327 nurses at RSD Idaman Banjarbaru. The sample was 90 people using a proportional random sampling. The research instruments used the Nursing Stress Scale, the Nursalam workload questionnaire, and NIOSH questionnaire. The result of chi-square test show that there is a relationship between workload (p-value=0,022), role conflict (p-value=0,004), there is no relationship between work shifts (p-value=0,277) and work stress among nurses at RSD Idaman Banjarbaru. Based on the results, RSD Idaman Banjarbaru is expected to be able to evaluate the workload and adjust workload for each room, fulfilling resources and materials.
