Abstract

The aim of this research is to raise the issue of wage payment schemes. Based on the data, there are still many people who pay wages using a process that is not in accordance with the contract that has been determined, and there are still many people who make wage payments without paying attention to the appropriate time period and amount of wages. So in this research we will discuss how the implementation of worker wage payments in the self-help housing stimulant assistance program (BSPS) is appropriate from a Maqashid Syariah perspective. The government has a program to eradicate uninhabitable housing with a housing assistance program for low-income communities through the PUPR ministry. West Kalimantan, especially Kuburaya district, is in the spotlight with a larger aid allocation quota than other districts. This assistance was in the form of money which was then spent collectively by the beneficiaries amounting to twenty million, with details of seventeen million five hundred thousand for building materials and two million five hundred thousand for workers' wages. Wage payments are made after the house is built by the beneficiary with their own self-sufficiency, so a problem arises in the payment of workers' wages which is deferred until the house is completely built and still has to wait for the entire group to complete its obligations as a condition for paying workers' wages. Based on Maqashid Syariah's review, the process of paying wages in the BSPS program is seen from the indicators of protecting religion, protecting the soul, protecting offspring, protecting property, protecting, and reason. These are not all contradictory, but need to be reviewed from the perspective of dharuriyyat, tahsiniyyat, hajjiyat

Abstract

Objective: This activity aims to increase the insight, knowledge, and capacity of Islamic financial literacy as well as the management of ZISWAF within the Muhammadiyah Regional Executive (PDM) of Kubu Raya through an empowerment and mentoring program based on Participatory Action Research (PAR). Theoretical framework: The activity is grounded in Islamic financial literacy, focusing on understanding sharia-compliant asset management and optimizing ZISWAF for community empowerment, supported by the theory of community empowerment and active participation in financial transformation. Literature review: The study highlights Islamic financial literacy, including sharia-compliant wealth management and long-term financial planning, and the role of ZISWAF in social welfare. Previous research shows that improving financial literacy enhances financial management aligned with Sharia principles. Methods: The research uses a qualitative method with a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach through three main stages: observation and reflection to identify literacy needs; planning and implementation of actions in the form of counseling and mentoring; and evaluation to assess the improvement of participants' understanding of ZISWAF-based financial planning. Results: The activity resulted in an increase in the understanding of the administrators and residents of Muhammadiyah PDM Kubu Raya regarding the urgency of Islamic financial literacy and the management of ZISWAF. Participants are able to understand and begin to implement Islamic financial planning, including the priority allocation of funds for zakat, infaq, alms, and long-term Islamic financial planning measures. Implications: The program strengthens the Muhammadiyah community's ability to manage sharia-based finances systematically, promoting sustainable financial practices and serving as a model for other Islamic communities. Novelty: The activity’s novelty lies in applying the PAR approach to Islamic financial literacy and ZISWAF education, making participants active learners and contributors to their financial planning, thus enhancing the program’s sustainability and relevance.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to analyze the Sharia Economic Law perspective on the practice of party equipment rental at 'Aisyiyah Tunas Harapan Orphanage and its alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting economic growth and social welfare. Renting, known in Islam as Ijarah, is a fundamental concept in Sharia economics that serves as an alternative solution for economic empowerment. The 'Aisyiyah Tunas Harapan Orphanage utilizes party equipment rental as a means to support its operational costs and improve economic sustainability. However, there is a lack of awareness among the orphanage managers and the local community regarding the principles of Sharia Economic Law, raising concerns about the compliance of rental agreements with Islamic teachings. Theoretical framework: This research is grounded in the theoretical framework of Ijarah contracts in Islamic jurisprudence, which stipulates that rental agreements must adhere to transparency, mutual consent, and fairness principles. Literature Review: The literature review examines previous studies on Sharia-based rental agreements and their role in economic sustainability. Methods: This study employs qualitative field research with a normative-descriptive approach. Data sources consist of primary data obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation, and secondary data derived from scholarly works on Islamic economic law. The data analysis method follows an interactive model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion verification. Results: The findings indicate that while the rental mechanism at 'Aisyiyah Tunas Harapan Orphanage functions as an economic support system, there are gaps in contract formulation and compliance with Islamic legal principles. The study suggests that implementing proper Sharia-based rental agreements can enhance financial sustainability and contribute to SDG goals, particularly economic inclusivity and responsible financial practices. Implications: The implications of this study emphasize the need for Sharia-compliant business models within charitable institutions to ensure ethical and sustainable economic activities. Novelty: The novelty of this research lies in integrating Islamic economic law with SDG principles in the context of orphanage-based entrepreneurship.

The research adopts a descriptive-qualitative approach focusing on the identification of curriculum opportunities, environmental context, and green chemistry principles implementation aligned with Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) and Outcome-Based Education (OBE). Data were collected through document analysis (curriculum review, environmental reports), interviews with lecturers and students, and literature analysis of regional environmental challenges. The results indicate that the local environmental issues (peatland degradation, river pollution, and plastic waste) are relevant to be integrated into chemistry teaching materials. Furthermore, 82.2% of lecturers and 88.6% of students express the need for context-based green chemistry materials emphasizing sustainable local resources. The study concludes that UMP’s chemistry curriculum holds strong potential to develop innovative, environmentally contextualized teaching materials promoting sustainability literacy among students.
