Abstract

Preparasi sampel menggunakan fermentasi bakteri selulolitik telah diketahui mampu meningkatkan rendemen minyak yang diisolasi dari tanaman. Walaupun demikian, pengaruh fermentasi tersebut terhadap komposisi minyak yang diperoleh masih belum banyak diinvestigasi. Dalam penelitian ini, komposisi minyak kulit jeruk Pontianak akan dibandingkan dengan sampel yang diawali tahap preparasi berupa fermentasi bakteri selulolitik. Bakteri yang digunakan untuk fermentasi adalah isolat Yersinia pseudotuberculosis RAG25 dan Proteus penneri RAG31 yang telah diisolasi dari tanah gambut Kota Pontianak. Analisis yang dilakukan menggunakan GCMS menunjukkan bahwa komponen utama minyak kulit jeruk yaitu limonen tidak berubah. Akan tetapi, komposisi minor minyak asiri kulit jeruk seperti n-nonanal dan n-dekanal, tidak muncul setelah dilakukan fermentasi. Abstract

Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh  pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams game tournament  berbantuan media teka-teki silang terhadap motivasi belajar siswa pada materi Koloid. Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas XI IPA yang berjumlah 120 siswa. Sampel penelitian yaitu siswa kelas XI IPA 1 dan XI IPA 3 yang berjumlah 80 siswa menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan komunikasi langsung dan observasi langsung. Alat pengumpul data menggunakan panduan wawancara dan pedoman observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe teams game tournament berpengaruh terhadap motivasi siswa sebesar 96,64%; (2) Terdapat perbedaan motivasi belajar siswa yang diajarkan dengan teams game tournament berbantuan media teka-teki silang dan metode ceramah pada materi Koloid; dan (3) Nilai effect size motivasi siswa sebesar 1,83.Kata Kunci:  teams game tournament, motivasi siswa, teka-teki silang.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effects of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative technique and VARK learning style student for learning School of Chemistry. This research using quasy experiment with 2 independent variables, TGT cooperative technique and VARK learning style, and 1 dependent variable, learning outcome. The subjects are students of Education of Chemistry in Muhammadiyah University. The instruments were test, documentation, and questioner. The hypothesis test is 0,00 so it achieved a significant learning outcome in experimental group class. The result of effect size show 1,415, categorized in the high category and give the significant learning outcome.Keywords: School of Chemistry, Learning Style, Teams Games Tournament (TGT)

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menghasilkan modul pembelajaran kimia berbasis multipel representasi pada materi laju reaksi kelas XI IPA 1 SMA Panca Bhakti Pontianak. Model pengembangan yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah model 3D hasil modifikasi model 4D yang direkomendasikan Thiagarajan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran kimia berbasis multipel representasi yang dikembangkan valid dengan nilai rata-rata kevalidan sebesar 90,48%. Kepraktisan berdasarkan nilai respon guru dan siswa dengan nilai 85,71% dan 83,33% dengan kriteria keduanya adalah sangat praktis. Keefektifan yang didasarkan pada analisis hasil belajar setelah menggunakan modul pembelajaran kimia berbasis multipel representasi menunjukkan nilai N-gain sebesar 0,7 dengan kriteria sangat efektif. Dengan demikian modul pembelajaran kimia berbasis multipel representasi yang dikembangkan ini layak digunakan sebagai sumber belajar siswa.

Abstract

Sikap ilmiah merupakan salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan dan besarnya pengaruh metode praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing terhadap sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah quasi-eksperimental dengan rancangan nonequivalent control group design untuk mengetahui hasil belajar siswa dan one-shot case study untuk observasi sikap ilmiah siswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling, diperoleh kelas XI IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI IPA 3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, teknik pengukuran, dan teknik komunikasi langsung. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi, catatan lapangan, tes hasil belajar, dan pedoman wawancara. Berdasarkan analisis data menggunakan uji non-parametrik U-Mann Whitney menunjukan terdapat perbedaan sikap ilmiah yaitu 0,00 < 0,05 dan hasil belajar yaitu 0,00 < 0,05. Hal ini menunjukan sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen berbeda dengan kelas kontrol. Effect size yang diperoleh untuk sikap ilmiah dan hasil belajar siswa adalah 2,47 dan 1,99 yang termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi. Pembelajaran menggunakan metode praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berpengaruh terhadap sikap ilmiah siswa sebesar 99,32% dan hasil belajar siswa sebesar 97,67%.

Abstract

Biocathode for biofuel cell was prepared by covalently immobilizedLaccaseon CNT (CNT-Laccase) using glutaraldehyde as conjugates. Successful laccase immobilization was confirmed by Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectrophotometry, Surface Electron Microscopy (SEM) and Thermogravimetric Analysis (TGA). Immobilization affected Laccase enzymatic activity where it boosts the stability at high temperature and neutral pH. At temperature 65ºC, free Laccase completely loss its activity, while CNT-Laccase still retaining 57.12% of its activity at 45ºC. The activity of CNT-Laccase at pH 7 was 7.04% of activity at pH 5 which was higher than that of free Laccase. CNT-Laccase was able to perform oxygen electroreduction with addition ABTS (2,2’-azino-bis(3-ethylbenzothiazoline-6-sulfonic acid) as mediator. Performance of oxygen electroreduction activity was also determined by type and composition of binding polymer. Nafion was able to provide better environment for oxygen electroreduction activity compare to polyvinyl alcohol (PVA). Current density resulted in using Nafion in ratio 1:10 to buffer volume was 1.31 mA/cm2, which was higher than that of PVA (1.01 mA/cm2). Increasing binding polymer ratio into 1:2 and 1:1 undermined oxygen electroreduction activity.

Abstract

ABSTRACTLow learning outcomes and lack of student activity on chemistry subject at X grade science students in SMAN 7 Pontianak was caused by low metacognition skills. Therefore, this research aimed to describe student‟s metacognition skills, learning activities, and learning outcomes in chemical subjects, as well as to determine the level of correlation among those variables. The method was descriptive method with correlational research. Students‟ metacognition skills were measured using MCAI questionnaire, students‟ learning outcomes by summative test documentation, and students‟ learning activities by learning activities questionnaires. The analysis showed that students‟ metacognition skill average was 79% in the developing category, which meant students can be helped toward realizing think if intrigued or supported, students‟ learning activities ware at the high category (51%), while students‟ learning outcomes was in the less category ( 38%). The correlation test (Pearson product moment test) results of students‟ metacognition skills with students‟ activity showed positive and significant correlation. Pearson correlation coefficient (r) was 0.542 as the moderate category and determination coefficient was 0.293. The correlation test results of students‟ metacognition skills with students‟ learning outcomes indicated that there was no correlation with the significant value of 0.136. Abstract

Low students’ understanding of reaction rate factors had occurred in grade XI of SMA Adi Sucipto Pontianak as a result of lack of learning resources. Therefore, this study aimed to develop an experiment guidebook based on a scientific approach to assist students on comprehending factors influencing reaction rate. Modified 4D Thiagarajan’s model of Research and Development (R&D) was carried out, in which the guidebook was evaluated regarding its feasibility including validity, effectiveness, and practicality. The validity value judged byexperts of mediawas 87.64% (very valid). In addition, the practicality level measured by responses from both teacher and students were 100% (very practical) and 98.14% (very practical), respectively. The use of the guidebook in classroom was effectively improved students’ learning outcome as the N-gain value was 0.89 (very high). As a conclusion, the resulted experiment guidebook based on a scientific approach was feasible to be used as a learning resources on reaction rate subject in grade XI of SMA Adisucipto Pontianak.Keywords: Chemical Practic Guides, Scientific Approach.

Abstract

Learning difficulty is a condition where the students are not able to compherend what they learn so it causes the low exhaustiviness of students learning outcomes. This is caused by various factors, one of them is internal factor, namely learning style which has not been noticed by teacher, because it can help the learning process become faster and easier. This researcher was descriptive research which generally aimed to: (1) determine students learning style based on VARK learning styles, (2) find out students learning difficulty in chemistry subject, and (3) find out students learning difficulty in each type of learning style. The instruments of this research were questionnaire, observation, interview, and documentation. Based on the data analysis, the researcher got the information that the tendency of students learning style were dominated by V-A-R-K learning style (42,87%). There were 75% of students who experienced learning difficulty on the material of chemical calculation (stoichiometry) especially for the indicators in determining calculation based on the basic of chemical laws and morality based on the mole concept. It was due to the teacher tended to use lecture method. Morever, learning difficulty was also because the students have not known learning style they have, so that the students could not focus on learning style but they were more focused on finishing calculation tasks.
