Abstract

The services of emergency patients play a very important role based on the principle of ’time saving is life saving’. This means that all actions taken during an emergency condition must be truly effective and efficient. This is reminiscent of the condition that people can lose their lives just in minutes. Response time depends on the speed available as well as the quality of providing assistance to save lives/prevent disability. There are many factors that influence nurses' response time which are education level, knowledge, length of work, and training. To know factors related to nurse-responded time on handling of emergency patient in IGD Room at Sawerigading Hospital. The research design used was cross-sectional analytic correlation. The respondents were all nurses implementing in IGD Room at Sawerigading Hospital. The population is this study were 31 nurses in IGD Room at Sawerigading Hospital and were selected using total sampling method. . Data analysis used chi-square test. There is a long working relationship with nurse respond time on emergency patient handling (value ρ = 0,014 <α = 0,05). There is norelationship of education with nurse time responder (value ρ = 0,729> α = 0,05). There is no relationship of gadar training with nurse respond time (value ρ = 0,307> α = 0,05). Factors related to nurse respond time on handling of emergency patient in IGD Room at Sawerigading Hospital that is long work. Therefore, the quality of service in the ER should also be improved through improvement efforts concerning with resources, facilities, procedures, services, and other technical aspects.

Abstract

Introduction: Diabetic foot ulcers are a chronic complication of diabetic mellitus that results in skin damage that can extend to tendons, muscles, bones, or joints. Foot ulcers, infections, and peripheral artery disease result in gangrene and lower extremity amputation. Objective: determine the effect of range of motion ankle on ankle brachial index in diabetic foot ulcer patients. Methods: Quantitative research with an approach quasy experimental design with pretest postest design. involving 10 respondents from intervention group I and 10 respondents from intervention group II. Sampling technique with non-probability concecutive sampling. Result: there was a significant difference in the average ankle brachial index of diabetic foot ulcers between the intervention group I and the intervention group II after the ankle range of motion (p= 0.000;). Likewise, it was proven that there was no association between the length of diabetic pain (p=0.752), history of hypertension (p=0.059), smoking habit (p=0.638) and ankle brachial index of diabetic foot ulcers. Conclusion: ankle range of motion exercises, there was a significant increase in the patient's ABI value. This increase in ABI indicates an improvement in blood circulation in the lower extremities, which is very important in the healing process of diabetic foot ulcers. Thus, the ankle range of motion exercise can be considered as one of the effective non-pharmacological interventions in the management of diabetic foot ulcers, helping to improve blood flow and speed up the wound healing process.

Abstract

Abstract   Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic disease with a steadily increasing prevalence globally. DM is often associated with a decreased quality of life, especially if comorbidities such as tuberculosis (TB) occur. Uncontrolled hyperglycemia in diabetes can suppress the immune system, increasing the risk of TB infection. Purpose: To evaluate the quality of life of DM patients with TB based on physical, psychological, and social domains through a narrative review approach. Method: Articles used in this study were identified through the PubMed, Scopus, and EBSCHO databases. The literature search used the keywords "Diabetes Mellitus," "Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus," "Tuberculosis," and "Quality of Life." A total of 367 articles were found, of which 7 met the inclusion criteria and eligibility criteria using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Data analysis was conducted thematically based on quality of life domains. Results: Patients with DM with TB (DM-TB) have a poorer quality of life, with significant declines in the physical domain due to poor diabetes management. Depression is a major factor in the decline in psychological quality of life. While social aspects tend not to be directly affected but can be influenced by socioeconomic status. Conclusion: A holistic and multidisciplinary approach in the management of DM-TB patients is crucial for improving their quality of life.   Keywords: Diabetes Mellitus; Quality of Life; Tuberculosis. Pencarian literatur menggunakan kata kunci “Diabetes Mellitus”, “Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus”, “Tuberculosis”, dan “Quality of Life”.

Abstract

Background: Human Immunodeficiency Virus/Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome (HIV/AIDS) remains a significant public health issue, particularly among adolescents who are vulnerable to risky behaviors due to limited knowledge and preventive attitudes. Reproductive health education is a promotive and preventive strategy with the potential to raise awareness and foster positive attitudes among adolescents toward HIV/AIDS prevention, particularly at the primary health care level, such as community health centers. Purpose: To analyze the effectiveness of reproductive health education in improving knowledge and attitudes regarding HIV/AIDS prevention among adolescents. Method: A quantitative study with a quasi-experimental approach, using a pretest-posttest design with a control group, was conducted in October 2025 at the Bontokassi Community Health Center in South Galesong. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, with a sample size of 80 participants divided into an intervention group and a control group. The independent variable in this study was reproductive health education, while the dependent variables were knowledge and attitudes. Data analysis employed univariate methods in the form of frequency distributions and bivariate analysis using the Paired T-Test. Results: Statistical analysis revealed a p-value of 0.000 (p< 0.05), indicating a significant difference between the pre- and post-intervention periods; thus, reproductive health education was found to be effective in improving participants’ knowledge and attitudes. Conclusion: Reproductive health education is effective in improving adolescents knowledge and attitudes toward HIV/AIDS prevention. This community health center-based intervention has the potential to serve as a promotive-preventive model that can be sustainably integrated into adolescent health programs in primary care settings.   Keywords: Adolescents; Attitudes; HIV/AIDS; Knowledge; Reproduction.
