Abstract

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Welder Performance Qualification Test (WPQT) implementation on project cost performance through welder competency and repair rate within the Cost of Poor Quality (CoPQ) framework in the steel fabrication EPC industry. A quantitative explanatory approach was employed using data from WPQT records, Ultrasonic Testing (UT) reports, and welder competency questionnaires. The sample consisted of 52 welders involved in the the case project, selected through a census sampling technique. Data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that WPQT positively influences welder competency, while welder competency significantly reduces repair rates. In turn, higher repair rates negatively affect project cost performance by increasing failure costs. Furthermore, welder competency and repair rate mediate the relationship between WPQT and project cost performance. These findings demonstrate that WPQT serves not only as a qualification requirement but also as a strategic quality control mechanism for improving cost performance in EPC projects

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of London Metal Exchange (LME) Zinc price volatility and Zinc Ingot procurement management strategies on the company's operational performance through procurement cost efficiency at the participating EPC company. High volatility in global Zinc prices can influence raw material procurement costs and consequently affect the effectiveness of operational performance. Therefore, appropriate procurement strategies are required to control costs and maintain operational efficiency. This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method, with data collected through questionnaires distributed to 32 respondents involved in the company's procurement, production, and operational activities. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4 software. The results indicate that LME Zinc price volatility significantly affects procurement cost efficiency and the company's operational performance. Zinc Ingot procurement management strategies also have a significant effect on procurement cost efficiency and operational performance. Furthermore, procurement cost efficiency significantly influences operational performance. The mediation analysis reveals that procurement cost efficiency successfully mediates the effects of both LME Zinc price volatility and Zinc Ingot procurement management strategies on operational performance. These findings suggest that effective commodity price risk management and procurement strategies are essential for improving cost efficiency and supporting the achievement of sustainable operational performance

Abstract

One of the religious student groups in Indonesia with a fairly large scope is santri. Santri who are currently studying at university are known as Mahasantri, and are the object of this study. Their average financial resources range from Rp. 500,000 - Rp. 1,000,000, which is located in the lower middle class. Based on this, the financial problems experienced by Mahasantri are an illustration of this study to examine factors that can support financial life management , so that the daily needs of the students can be met. This study used a questionnaire on 375 students of the Nurul Jadid Probolinggo Islamic Boarding School . SmartPLS software version 03 was used to test the research hypothesis of the budgeting behavior variable as variable X, Islamic financial literacy as variable Z1, artificial intelligence utilization as variable Z2, and financial life management as variable Y. The test results of this study indicate that the first hypothesis of budgeting behavior has an effect on financial life management with a t-statistic of 4.089 and a p-value of 0.000. Meanwhile, the second and third hypotheses, namely the Islamic financial literacy variable with a t-statistic of 0.523 and a p-value of 0.601, and the artificial intelligence utilization variable with a t-statistic of 0.214 and a p-value of 0.830, were proven not to function as moderating variables. Therefore, the findings of this study are expected to provide a basis for policy-making by educational institutions related to supporting their students' personal finances. Institution managers can conduct regular financial literacy programs.

Abstract

Investing in gold can be a good choice for protecting wealth and diversifying portfolios. Although there are risks involved, many investors view gold as a stable and safe asset. Hedonic values are one factor influencing people's decisions to invest in gold during the recent period of economic uncertainty. Most people purchase gold based on their desires rather than their needs. The influence of risk perception on gold investment is an important aspect that investors need to understand. Although gold is often considered a safe asset, this investment still has various risks that can affect the value and returns of the investment in the long term. Digital literacy is one of the factors required by a person in carrying out investment activities. By accessing information using digital literacy, individuals can learn about current events and predict potential risks. Improving digital literacy can contribute positively to investing, especially gold investment.
