Abstract

Penelitian ini menginvestigasi pengaruh variasi jenis spray gun terhadap ketebalan cat pada panel yang diuji. Parameter utama yang diperhatikan adalah perbedaan jarak penyemprotan dan variasi gerakan penyemprotan. Setelah proses pengecatan, panel tersebut melanjutkan tahap ceramic coating. Fokus dilanjutkan pada pengujian perbedaan pH pada permukaan lapisan ceramic coating, menggambarkan interaksi antara jenis spray gun dan kualitas lapisan pelindung yang dihasilkan. Selain itu, penelitian juga mempertimbangkan pengaruh perbedaan suhu curing terhadap lapisan ceramic coating, mengevaluasi stabilitas dan performa material pada berbagai kondisi suhu. Hasil penelitian ini dapat memberikan wawasan mendalam mengenai optimalisasi teknik penyemprotan dan proses ceramic coating, memperkaya pemahaman dalam industri pengecatan dan perlapisan pelindung. Dari penelitian yang ada didapati bahwa pH asam dan pH basa memiliki sifat abrasif yang paling tinggi dan sangat dianjurkan untuk menghindari pemakaian pH yang tidak netral pada permukaan lapisan coating.

Abstract

Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies can generally be divided into industrial-grade systems and consumer-grade machines, the latter being more cost-effective and accessible to a broader user base. Within the consumer segment, the most prevalent methods are fused deposition modelling (FDM) and LCD-based vat photopolymerization. Although FDM has been extensively studied, direct performance comparisons between material extrusion (ME) and vat photopolymerization (VP) remain relatively scarce. This study addresses this gap by evaluating the mechanical behavior of both technologies. The results show that LCD-based printing demonstrates superior performance in certain mechanical aspects (elongation), while both entry-level materials achieved comparable tensile strengths of approximately 31.5 MPa. In contrast, the flexural strength was higher in the specimens produced by ME, indicating that each process carries distinct advantages depending on the application.

Abstract

Automotive workshops commonly face inefficiencies in special-tool availability due to manual and non-transparent tracking systems. This study addresses this challenge by examining the impact of limited tool quantities on operational performance, particularly the low average service level (86.18% vs. the 95% target). This study is among the first to integrate a digital tool management system with quantitative inventory-optimization methods, i.e., Safety Stock and Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA), in an automotive workshop context. Borrowing-transaction records collected over 60 days were analyzed to identify critical tools with the highest demand variability. Although most tools achieved full availability, 15 high-demand tools contributed to reduced overall service level and were therefore prioritized in the optimization process. Application of Safety Stock analysis recommended ideal inventory quantities, while CBA revealed diminishing-return thresholds, preventing unnecessary investment. Key improvements include increasing service level from 71.27% to 99.51% and enhancing cost efficiency to 89.04%. The combined digital recording system and quantitative optimization framework have proved highly effective in improving tool availability and reducing operational costs. This approach offers a scalable model for automotive workshops seeking to enhance efficiency and sustainability through data-driven tool-management strategies.
