Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the students errors in distinguishing between collective and plural noun and the factors made the students errors in distinguishing between collective noun and plural noun. In collecting required data, the researcher used interview and test. The subject of this research was the students at class VII2 SMPN 1 Nisam which consisted of 29 students. The result of this research shown that the students errors were divided into three categories, namely, errors of omission, errors of addition and errors of misuse. Based on the result of test, it was found out that there were 10,7% of students made errors of omission, 67,4% errors of misuse and 21,9 % errors of addition. The result of interview shown that students made many errors caused by two factors; they are external and internal factor. External factor come from the method of teaching, because how well the students understand the material depends on the method of teaching that used by the teacher. Internal factor was the students themselves, they did not pay attention to their study, some of them were afraid and shy to ask the teacher if they do not understand the material. Some of them were did not do repetition of their lesson or lazy to study.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out whether using sketch word strategy was effective in teaching vocabulary. In this case, the researcher used quantitative data approach by using experimental design. There were two classes at seventh grade of SMPN 3 Nisam North Aceh as the sample of this research. There were class VII/1 as experimental consist of 24 students and VII/3 as control group consist of 22 students. In experimental group, the researcher used skecth word strategy in teaching vocabulary. After teaching learning process for three meetings, the researcher gave post-test. The result was shown that the students’ achievement in experimental group was higher than control group. It was proved by the average score from pre-test of experimental group was 64,5 and control group was 53,04. Furthermore, the result of post-test of experimental group was 83,5 and control group was 69,86. It could be concluded that using sketch word effective in teaching vocabulary.

Abstract

This research was aimed to find out whether using chunking strategy was effective in teaching reading comprehension. In this case, the researcher used quantitative data approach by using experimental design. There were two classes at ninth grade of SMPN 1 Nisam North Aceh as the sample of this research. There were class IX/3 as experimental consist of 24 students and IX/2 as control group consist of 22 students. In experimental group, the researcher used chunking strategy in teaching reading comprehension. After teaching learning process for three meetings, the researcher gave post-test. The result was shown that the students’ achievement in experimental group was higher than control group. It was proved by the average score from pre-test of experimental group was 66,8 and control group was 64,5. Furthermore, the result of post-test of experimental group was 83,2 and control group was 70,3. It could be concluded that using chunking strategy was effective in teaching reading comprehension.

Abstract

This research describes the form of metaphor in the poetry collection Mata Pengburu by Mahdi Idris. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data source in this research is the poetry collection Mata Pengburu by Mahdi Idris. The data used is an array containing metaphors in the poetry collection Mata Pengburu by Mahdi Idris. The technique for collecting data is using reading techniques and note-taking techniques by marking parts of the lines containing metaphors in the poetry collection Eye of the Hunter by Mahdi Idris. The research results show that there are four forms of metaphor in the poetry collection Mata Pengburu by Mahdi Idris, namely anthropomorphic metaphor, animal metaphor, concrete to abstract metaphor, and synaesthetic metaphor. Researchers found 44 data contained in the poetry collection Mata Pengburu by Mahdi Idris regarding metaphor forms which were grouped into 4 sections, namely 29 anthropomorphic metaphor data, 7 animal metaphor data, 7 concrete to abstract metaphor data, and 1 synaesthetic metaphor data. Of the four metaphors, anthropomorphic metaphors often appear in the poetry collection Mata Pengburu by Mahdi Idris.

Abstract

This study aims to discuss the integration of religion and science in the interpretation of Surah Ar-Rahman verses 19-20 in Tafsir An-Nur by Hasby Ash-Shiddiqy. The research focuses on the interpretation of surah Ar-Rahman verses 19-20, analysis of the integration of religion and science in the context of the verse, and the implications of the integration of religion and science for the development of Islamic education and science. This research uses the maudhui tafsir research method. The results showed that Hasby Ash-Shiddiqy interpreted the two seas in Surah Ar-Rahman verses 19-20 as two different types of water, namely fresh water and salt water. Although the two meet in several places such as the mouth of the river that meets the sea, they do not mix completely. This phenomenon is explained as the existence of a boundary or separating the two waters. The integration between religion and science in this tafsir also has an impact on the development of Islamic education and science. In Islamic education, this integration provides an alternative holistic approach in the teaching and learning process and has an impact on the character building of Muslim scientists and the development of multidisciplinary research. In addition, the integration of religion and science in this tafsir has implications for the development of science, including in shaping the ethics of technological development and producing science that has a positive social impact.

Abstract

Many teenagers spend time with activities that are not useful. Therefore, parents are required to be able to direct their children to a good path. The purpose of this study was to find out and describe the pattern of parental approaches in guiding positive activities for adolescents in Sumbok Rayeuk Village, North Aceh. Teenagers in the transition phase need full guidance and supervision from their parents, starting from activities at home to outside the home. Parents must always be ready to supervise teenagers in the use of mobile phones and their friendship environment. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. Sources of data in this study were parents in Sumbok Rayeuk Village, North Aceh. Data obtained through interview techniques, documentation, and observation. The results of the study showed that the approach taken by parents in guiding positive activities for Youth in Sumbok Rayeuk Village, Nibong Aceh Utara District was carried out using a communicative approach, reward and punishment patterns and giving exemplary examples to their children. The obstacles faced by parents include the use of mobile phones that do not know a time limit and where adolescents interact with their peers who are beyond the reach of their parents.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran project based learning  terhadap hasil belajar siswa dalam materi mawaris pada siswa kelas XII di SMAN 1 Nisam. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan eksperimen, adapun populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh kelas XII SMAN 1 Nisam yang berjumlah 4 kelas. Pengambilan sampel dalam penelitian ini dilakukan secara acak sederhana yakni terpilih dua kelas berjumlah 55 siswa yaitu kelas XII IPA 1 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang akan diajarkan dengan model PBL berjumlah 29 siswa dan kelas XII IPA 2 sebagai kelas kontrol yang akan diajarkan dengan metode ceramah berjumlah 26  siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes pada kedua kelas dengan bentuk dan bobot yang sama. Selanjutnya data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara statistik. Dari hasil pengolahan data menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai pre-test kelas eksperimen adalah 63,3 sedangkan rata-rata nilai pre-test kelas kontrol adalah 62,5. Selanjutnya setelah diberikan treatment selama 3 kali pertemuan di kelas ekperimen yakni pembelajaran materi mawaris dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran project based learning, hasil post-test mengalami peningkatan. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari rata-rata nilai post-test kelas eksperimen yakni 73,2 sedangkan rata-rata nilai post-test kelas kontrol yakni 68,5. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran project based learning memberi dampak terhadap hasil pembelajaran siswa kelas XII SMAN 1 NIsam dalam materi mawaris.

Abstract

Students’ comprehension of narrative texts was hampered in the chosen educational setting, necessitating the implementation of effective interventions. The Rally Coach strategy, an emerging approach, is based on the notion that collaborative learning boosts student performance. This study aims to determine if there is a significant difference in reading comprehension achievement between students taught using the Rally Coach Strategy and those taught using traditional methods. A quasi-experimental research design was employed to assess the efficacy of Spencer Kagan's Rally Coach Strategy in improving students' reading comprehension skills. The study's t-test results showed a significant improvement in reading comprehension, with a value of 6.039 exceeding the t-table result of 2.048, indicating a substantial improvement in reading comprehension achievement. These findings support the alternative hypothesis, implying that implementing the Rally Coach Method in the experimental classroom would significantly improve the quality of reading comprehension instruction. Overall, this study adds valuable empirical evidence to support the Rally Coach strategy's effectiveness in improving students' reading comprehension skills. This study addresses a critical educational concern by identifying a successful intervention to address low reading comprehension achievement and emphasizes the importance of cooperative learning strategies, such as the Rally Coach Strategy, in improving students' overall reading comprehension abilities.

Abstract

The development of the digital era presents new challenges in the character building of Generation Z, who were born and grew up in a technological environment. In this case, Islamic education is crucial in shaping their morals and ethics to remain aligned with Islamic teachings. This study aims to examine the integration strategy of Islamic education values in the character building of Generation Z in the digital era, with a research focus on class XI students of SMAN 1 Nisam who have an average age of 16 to 17 years old. This research uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the strategies used by the teacher of SMAN 1 Nisam to integrate the Islamic Education values in character building are applied through morals-based learning, religious activities, digital media utilization, and Islamic attitude habituation. The integrated Islamic Education values include the values of aqidah, morals, and social responsibility, which aim to shape students' personalities so that they can face digital challenges wisely.

Abstract

The rapid development of digital technology brings new challenges to the character building of the Alpha generation growing up in a digital ecosystem; the Alpha generation is vulnerable to the negative influence of cyberspace, such as moral degradation. This study aims to examine how Islamic Education shapes the digital ethics of the alpha generation and the strategic steps it takes to build the alpha generation's character. Through a qualitative approach with a literature study method, this study found that Islamic Education plays a role in building awareness of digital ethics through instilling awareness of Islamic morals in doing activities on social media, preventing cyberbullying and hate speech behavior by instilling Islamic values, teaching the concept of trust in the use of digital media, and developing a critical attitude towards digital information. In addition, strategic steps that can be implemented include integrating digital ethics material into the Islamic Education curriculum, optimizing teachers' roles as moral mentors, and collaborating with parents and communities to monitor children's use of digital technology.
