Abstract

The study aims to determine the level of understanding of physics concepts on pressure material in class VIII C SMPN 3 Kupang students and determine the percentage of understanding of the concept of each indicator. The research data was obtained by giving tests in the form of essays totaling 15 numbers. The data were statistically analyzed, obtained the percentage of understanding of the concept of each indicator in order are interpret 81%, exemplify 66%, classify 72%, conclude 48%, summarize 50% and explain 61%. The results of this study indicate that the most dominant understanding of physics concepts is the indicator of interpreting and is in a very high category, while the least dominant indicator is the indicator of inferring and is in the sufficient category. The order of mastery based on indicators starting from the largest is the indicator of interpreting, classifying, exemplifying, explaining, summarizing, and concluding.

Abstract

The difficulty of learning outcomes in the cognitive domain is a person's inability to remember, understand, apply, analyze, create and evaluate the material that has been explained. The dimensions of knowledge referred to here are factual, conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive knowledge. This study aims to determine student difficulties in working on questions: factual, conceptual, procedural, and metacognitive. This research was conducted at SMP Negeri 20 Kupang. This type of research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The sample in the study was class VIII E students totaling 30 students. The data collection technique was carried out with a test technique in the form of essay questions totaling 10 items. The results showed that in factual knowledge, students had an average score of 66 with a moderate category of difficulty, conceptual knowledge had an average score of 81 with a category of no difficulty, procedural knowledge had an average score of 26 with a category of great difficulty, and metacognitive knowledge had an average score of 47 with a category of much difficulty.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the ability of participants in the process of solving problems of sound wave material based on Polya's theory. Polya's theory describes four stages that are carried out in the process of solving a problem, namely understanding the problem, planning the problem solving, carrying out the problem solving and checking the results. In order to obtain data on the students' ability to solve a problem, the research used the testing technique. Tests were given to 19 students in the form of questions in the form of descriptions with a total of five question numbers. The results of the data analysis show data on the percentage of students' abilities for four aspects based on Polya's theory, which are classified based on high, medium and low criteria. The results of the percentage of students' abilities at the stage of understanding the problem obtained the results that 15.79% were in the high category, 68.42% were in the medium category and 15.79% were in the low category. The stage of planning problem solving obtained results 36.84% were in the high category and the medium category and 26.32% were in the low category. The stage of implementing problem solving obtained 100% results in the low category and the last stage, which was checking the results, obtained 5.26% results in the high category, 5.26% were in the medium category and 89.47% were in the low category. From the results of the data analysis obtained, it can be seen that the percentage of students' abilities from very low to high is successively in the stage of carrying out problem solving, in the stage of re-examining the results, in the stage of planning problem solving and in the stage of understanding the problem.

Abstract

This research aims (1) to determine the feasibility of a module based on local wisdom on sound wave material in increasing students' conceptual understanding (2) to determine the increase in student learning outcomes in applying the sound wave material module based on local wisdom. The population and sample in this study were students in class XI Science at Sint Carolus Catholic High School on Sound Waves material. This research uses a development method (Research & Development Design). The research stages of this research are (1) Research and Data Collection; (2) Planning; (3) Product Draft Development; (4) Initial Field Trials; (5) Revising Trial Results (6) Field Trials. The instruments used are test questions, validation sheets and student response questionnaires. The data analysis technique used is quantitative descriptive analysis technique. The results of this research show that the results of module validation by 4 expert validators with an average percentage of all aspects are 88.18% with the category very suitable for use. The N-Gain value was obtained at 79.40 in the effective category and an average of 70.41% was obtained in the practical product category. The conclusion in this research is that the Physics Module Based on Local Wisdom on Traditional Musical Instruments was developed practically so that it can be used as a learning resource in learning at Sint Carolus Catholic High School.

Abstract

The problem faced in learning Physics is the lack of a variety of interesting and interactive learning media, which can affect students' interest and understanding of the material being taught. In an effort to overcome this problem, a Physics Domino Card-assisted LKPD was developed as an innovative learning media. This study aims to determine the feasibility of Learner Worksheets (LKPD) assisted by Physics Domino Cards on the material of Light and Optical Instruments; to determine the response of students to the implementation of learning activities using the LKPD. This research is a development research using the 4-D model (Four D Model), which consists of the defining stage (define), the planning stage (design), the development stage (development), and the disseminate stage (disseminate). The instruments used include product validation sheets and student response questionnaire sheets. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis, namely product validation analysis using the V Aiken coefficient and analysis of learner responses using percentages. The results of the validation analysis showed that the LKPD assisted by Domino Card Physics obtained a V Aiken coefficient of 0,86 which was categorized as very valid. Students' responses to the use of LKPDs assisted by Physics Domino Cards as learning media showed a percentage of 89%, which was categorized as very good. LKPD assisted by Physics Domino Cards on the material of Light and Optical Instruments is very feasible to use and get a very good response from students, so it can be used as an alternative learning media that is effective in increasing students' interest and understanding of Physics material.

Abstract

The problem that is often faced is that many students are less interested and less motivated in learning physics, especially on the concept of simple harmonic motion. This has a negative impact on their learning outcomes, as indicated by low test scores and overall academic achievement. Therefore, an intervention is needed that can improve students' interest in learning and learning outcomes. This study aims to determine the interest and learning outcomes of physics students in class X IPA 6 SMA Negeri 2 Kupang in the guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET simulation on simple harmonic motion material. This research is a descriptive quantitative study with a simple regression approach that aims to determine the effect between the variable of interest in learning on the variable of learning outcomes. The results of descriptive test analysis for interest variables and learning outcomes showed that the average percentage of interest in learning on pretest was 61% (high category) and on posttest was 72% (very high category); the average percentage of learning outcomes on pretest was 22 (low category) and on posttest was 86 (very high category). The regression test results show a significant effect of learning interest on student learning outcomes on simple harmonic motion material in guided inquiry learning assisted by PhET simulation. The application of guided inquiry learning model assisted by PhET simulation can increase students' learning interest, which in turn significantly improves their learning outcomes on simple harmonic motion material.
