Abstract

The city of Banjarmasin, as the center of economic growth in South Kalimantan, faces significant challenges in terms of mobility. The development of river public transportation is one of the alternatives to overcome urban transportation problems. This study has significance in providing a holistic view of the factors that need to be considered in the selection of river transportation modes that are integrated with land transportation. The study was conducted in the areas of North Alalak Village and Sungai Lulut Village. The data processing method in this study involves testing the completeness of primary and secondary data to describe field conditions, then analyzing the preferences for choosing transportation modes using the AHP method which includes steps such as defining problems, creating hierarchical structures, conducting pairs comparisons, calculating eigenvalues and testing consistency, while the data analysis stage includes the calculation of consistency ratios, consistency vector, average of entries (Zmax) and Consistency Index (CI) to determine the final preference of each alternative. The analysis of priority weights between criteria is calculated to find out the order of the most influential criteria in selecting transportation modes. The results of the study can provide guidance for decision-making at the level of governments, transport companies and communities in developing and adopting more efficient transport systems. This research is expected to be useful for the author to expand insights, for the government and operators as input in the development of integrated transportation, and for the general public as a reference for more efficient modes of transportation.

Abstract

Economic growth is one of the indicators to analyze economic development that occurs in a region. The increasing population in a region has implications for the expanding urban development area, so that the spatial structure of the region is widening. The spatial structure of a region is also influenced by changes in GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) to measure the economic level of a city. The purpose of this study is to analyze the spatial structure and economic growth in the SARBAGITA Metropolitan Area. This study uses GRDP data for 2012-2022, LQ and Shift Share analysis used to identify leading sectors and changes in economic growth. The results showed that the wholesale and retail trade sector, the accommodation and food services sector, the construction sector, and the information and communication sector were the main drivers of economic growth in the region. Denpasar City and Badung Regency as the main growth centers experienced a significant increase in population. Rapid economic growth has changed the spatial structure of the region, marked by urbanization and changes in land use from agriculture to residential and commercial. The results of this study indicate a positive correlation between economic growth and changes in spatial structure. The implication of this study is the importance of comprehensive spatial planning to anticipate population growth, maintain environmental balance, and support sustainable development in this metropolitan area.

Abstract

Traffic safety around public transport stopping points is a critical issue in developing cities. This study evaluates the safety level of 40 dominant stopping points along the AG Corridor (Arjosari-Gadang) in Malang City through a road safety audit based on 36 parameters in seven components, which produces the Facility Quality Index (FQI). Actual crash data were obtained from the IRSMS Korlantas Polri database for the 2019-2025 period using a 50-metre spatial join buffer. Of the 40 stopping points, 11 were classified as Safe (FQI >= 75), 25 as Less Safe (50-74), and 4 as Dangerous (<50), with an average FQI of 65.67. The Physical Infrastructure component (43.19) and Traffic Signs and Road Markings component (51.39) recorded the lowest average scores. The analysis using a Negative Binomial Model (NBM) with disaggregated component variables shows that Traffic Conflict is a component that significantly affects crash frequency (?=-0.038, p=0.007, IRR=0.963). This means that a 10-point improvement in traffic conflict conditions reduces crash frequency by 31.7%. Of the 145 driver respondents, 84.9% had experienced a crash. The study produces a risk map and a priority list for handling the 40 stopping points, which can be directly used by the Malang City Transportation Agency.
